Fighters haven't been a major "game-changer" since Vietnam. It's been bombers for the last 25 years that have accomplished everything. and there stealth HAS made a difference. Only one plane lost in combat due to stupidity in the planning phase.
-
I think the only one I've seen different is one in the Middle East. Abu Dhabi maybe? Or Qatar? It's gloss white with red lettering on it.
Ah, found it. Qatar.

Wonder how long till Exp 3 and the F1?

I don't see the big difference.
Where is Everon? Takistan? Chernarus? None of those places exist. Might as well be fighting on Pandora or Tattooine. The equipment was usually real, but half the forces using them weren't. Now BIS is playing fortune teller, and not that far out either. I mean, even the great Arthur C Clarke thought in the late 60s we'd have permanent bases on the Moon by the 1990s.
I think it's obvious that after modeling current military equipment for the last 10 years BIS was interested in branching out to stuff on the drawing boards or concepts. Big deal. It's not like there won't be a bus load of mods of the current stuff for it. I mean, people hardly touch the stock Arma 2 stuff anyway!

The point is the local commander wanted the plane shot down, not run off. He was so eager for that he wasn't going to believe it if the pilot said that it was an airliner because of where it was. He believed it HAD to be a 135, so it was going down.
Anything he said after was regret for his own bad judgement.

I guess that video was a touch and go as I didn't see a hook down let alone a wire caught.
I remember trying to land the MiG-29K on the Kuznetsov in LOMAC 2.5...easier than the Su-33, but not by much!

If it didn't make them money, they wouldn't do it.
It obviously makes them money.

Hey, I'm starting this up now as my mod folder is unmanageably large. Does this work ok for cockpit BMPs as well as external skins? Some of the cockpits are tens of MBs in size, and while there are fewer of those than skins, they do take up a lot of space as well.

Awaiting the opinion of the masses!

As someone who has never cared for sports of ANY kind, I find myself similarly uninterested in the Olympics. But, if it occupies people for a couple of weeks, so much the better.

Lots of talk goes on here, but generally in their respective forums depending on the sim.

My guess? Windows 8 SP1.

I well remember playing it on release. Took pretty much until the 1.08 patch a year later before the thing was even what I'd call playable. Still flawed, but at least you could finally enjoy it without wanting to kick your PC regularly. Of course, that's when the company shut down.
Good on you for keeping with it for the rest of us.

MS has proven, yet again, that despite having tons of money and resources they can still screw it up grandly on a regular basis.
Absolutely NO ONE praised the announcement of Flight, the direction it was going, how it was done, nobody. At best some agreed with the stated goal of "widening the appeal", but I think we can all agree they failed in that big time. They didn't appeal to anyone who disliked MSFS and at the same time they not only alienated but at time actively rejected the MSFS base. Staggers the mind.

I will NEVER understand the persistence of that either. Not only no one now alive, but none have been alive for decades now. It's literally something that happened to other people, yet there is some strange romantic notion that it's somehow still current.
It probably takes the record for the most fondly remembered failure in history. The US doesn't remember Vietnam fondly. We don't remember 9/11 fondly. We don't remember Pearl Harbor fondly. Yet for some reason a puzzlingly large number of people still lament the CSA's passing. To which my reply is: "they should've had a better military then."

Well...checking it one more time to make certain takes less time than the hearings you'll go thru if you FORGET to do it.

Yep, I recently did that. I had to send TW an email because I bought everything with 2 accounts over the years (as my paypal used one email and then I was using Amazon payments which used another) and I needed them merged. Took a couple of days and then I grabbed it all at once with the installer. Lots simpler than running each of those installers one at a time myself.

Well, see if they were presented that way in-game (like the tab was missing or just said "coming soon"), I would give some slack.
Instead, they're there. You can pick them and fly with them. They just won't fire a single shot. It's like they're out of ammo from the start. How much more work needs to be done to make them fire? I've accepted that the AI planes won't have them to use because the logistics are hard to figure...can an AI plane use a weapon mod a player doesn't have? Would the AI pick it based on some mission setting like whether to take bombs?
No, that's fine. I just want PLAYERS to be able to use them in coop missions.

I don't know, I could imagine some people being more interested in some of the Luftwaffe's unbuilt prototypes than a failed program like the F-5G/20. I've certainly enjoyed flying them in Il-2:46. Generally speaking, planes that didn't reach production aren't as well known right out of the gate because so few existed and there wasn't much that they could do as a result. That means no exploits to read about other than test flights at most.
-
Perhaps, but you must admit there are a certain group of people here that would certainly advocate sanctions, expulsions, and probably war if they flew a US flag upside down.
That's why I hate extremists (even those who run their own networks and claim to be just telling the "truth"), because actions are never good or bad, it's always WHO did it that matters. We do it, it's fine, just a mistake, a minor thing. THEY do it, it's reprehensible, a direct affront, unacceptable. Morality has become based on the identity of the one doing it, not in the action itself.

Notice that this dreadful news happens almost exactly one year after the terrorist attacks around Oslo, 22 July 2011. In both cases, we have a cold-blooded murderer who seems to be an intelligent man, smart, vicious, able to handle explosives in order to fix and disorganize the intervention teams following a careful planning, very organized in his ultimate goal to make as many victims as possible, and who, contrary to the disorganized aggressors at Columbine for example, has planned and managed to survive to his bloody rampage. In both cases, this intelligent man, so efficient in acting in and on the true world, is actually completely disconnected from it, only living through his own schemes, plots, and imaginary conspiracies. A locked and loaded crusader unleashed against a peaceful world. Compared to the armed morons of Columbine, this new style of mass murderers I find really, really scaring...
It's not that they "planned to survive" so much as they didn't try to get themselves killed. They weren't suicidal, while the Columbine ones obviously were and had no intention of surviving. If the authorities show up once the killing is over, and the killer doesn't threaten the police, there's no reason they won't capture them instead of just kill them.
As for the question of "crazy" or not, I would submit that unlike some dope who shoots a clerk robbing a store or a bank in the heat of the moment, there is NO justification for mass murder that makes sense. To do that you must be insane on some level, because one of the definitions of insanity is being unable to distinguish right from wrong...and under what rational line of reasoning is killing dozens of innocents "right"?
And before you ask, yes, I think these fundamentalists who go around killing and blowing themselves up because some other schmuck told them "God wills it" are also crazy.
-
Considering all the uproar over cyberintrusions these days in both military and contractor networks, I'm sure they stole it.
As for GIVING it to them, that literally doesn't make sense under any possible train of thought. It provides no advantages to the "givers" at all.

Yeah, it was in the local paper here.
It's like mistaking a pickup for an 18 wheeler. Eyewitnesses said they thought the plane wasn't going to stop in time but run off the end of the runway! That wouldn't happen at MacD. Fully loaded a 17 would still have plenty of room to stop.
