  1. Depends on what ordinance I am carrying. If I'm toting laser or GPS guided bombs, I'll pick and nearby air defense system or maybe a truck parked too close to a building in the pushover and tell them to hit that. On larger LGBs (1000 LBS+) I normally only do single release, so if I somehow miss with the first, I can climb out and swing back around for another try. AI isn't too good with LGBs, and they randomly seem to release multiples even on small targets like AAA. However, I do find them useful and suppressing SAFires and allowing me to concentrate on the target.

I do the same if it's dumb iron and I have a CCIP, and select dual release. If I don't have a CCIP with dumb bombs, then I'm multiple release and I tell the wingman to hit the primary target with me at the pushover. If I have a second element, they can either suppress AAA if they are loaded for it or else they've been release to provide OCA at the initial.

  2. VF-213 Black Lions 2003

VF-213 Black Lions 2003 OIF Cruise for the Mirage Factory F-14D_96

Intended to bridge the gap between their 1999-2002 http://combatace.com/files/file/14717-vf-213-f-14d-1999-2002/ and the Last Tomcat Cruise http://combatace.com/files/file/16459-vf-213-black-lions-last-roar/ to cover VF-213's entire career in the D-model Tomcat.

Please read the readme and enjoy!

  3. Looking good. Just remember, VF-143 used the 100 series modex. Same with VF-51.

I kinda stopped doing individual BuNos unless A) the aircraft was particularly famous or B) they just happened to be on the decals I was already building from and accurate already or nearly so. Putting them on the numbers list next to the modex is easy. But just remember, these are your skins and it's up to you how much work you feel you need to put in to make them good.

I forgot to mention also, I really dig the detail you put into the gun gas vent. Bear in mind that the block 80 jets still used the original 7-hole ggv.

  4. D'oh...

Apparently I didn't realize the phoenix pallets were different from the pallets with the bomb racks. Sorry about that. It's what I get for only flying strike and CAS with this plane. Please add the following entries to the decals.ini. I'll make a proper update when I have more improvements to make.

  5. Having been owned cats and hand-reared kittens my entire life, I can tell you this is part of the normal slowing down process. The last time I had a cat pass away was four years ago. He was 19 and had been on the decline for a while. I could get up in the morning, go to work with him sleeping in his cat bed and come home 10-12 hours later to still find him there. He would find the energy to get up and greet me.

12+ is considered the geriatric phase of a cat's life in veterinary circles. They sleep more, eat less, have less playful energy, and as he gets even older, he may start having issues keeping himself clean. Trust me, the image of the dignified old housecat is totally false.

What you are seeing is normal. Keep loving him, keep playing with him when he has the energy. However, if you have any doubts, concerns, or reservations, the best thing you can do for peace of mind is take him to the vet and have him checked out. Cats are predators, but they are also a prey species, and their instincts are Darwinian. They don't broadcast that they are in any pain or discomfort. And while their methods of communication can be just as complex as language, it isn't like you can ask them what's wrong. If you see something that concerns you, go see a professional.

    Good luck.

  6. Antares,

With VF-31, what period, if separate from the VF-33 request?

With VF-33 or most other early 80's jets I can look and see if it is doable. If their CAG/CO aircraft were painted with a different base coat than the line aircraft, I'll have to skip it until I can get my decals-as-textures project finished. That's why I haven't yet tackled VF-213 Black Lions Last Tomcat Cruise. Lion 213 was painted in FS 16440, and Lion 204 was painted a standard TPS of FS 35237, FS 36320, and FS 36375, while the rest of the squadron used the VF-213 TPS variation with FS 35237 just over the canopy, nose, and spine. Until I can completely replace the base skin with decals, I don't want to attempt it.
