  1. SF2 TMF Mirage IIIC (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack

    SF2 TMF Mirage IIIC (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack       2/21/2024

    -For SF2, Any and All-

    This is a full upgrade/remod pack for The Mirage Factory's Dassault Mirage 3C series as used by the French Air Force. Included in this package are 2 complete versions of the Mirage IIIC:

    Mirage IIIC ("standard" usage)
    1) NMF - EC 1/2 Cigones
    2) AdA Blue - EC 2/10 Seine (<1975)

    Mirage IIICi/SEPR (rocket boosted, single missile armed, no gun, interceptor)
    1) NMF only - EC 2/13 Alpes

    They are set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with the Mirage III's available as stock within the game or as a DLC from 3rd Wire. Everything needed is supplied, excepting those weapons used that are stock 3W items. Skins remain in their original bmp format. Each skin has 26 letter and number decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Almost all markings are decals. The SF2 date switch is used on the standard IIIC, changing to the Air Defense Blue in 1975. For the most part, the skins are left 'attached' to the squadrons from when originally released 'way back when.

    When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown you'll see:

    Mirage IIIC (TMF)
    or
    Mirage IIIC/SEPR (TMF)

    So you can't mistake them for anything else but TMF Birds (tm).

    As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is, as always, in the Notes section below.

    Happy Landings!

  2. Yeah, it's a stand alone terrain. Pretty sure it says that in the read me. You're gonna have to delete everything from the IcelandNA folder (if you have one), and start over. THIS one should already come with it's own folder,and if you look inside you'll find to funny files called "TFD" and "HFD", whcih the stock NA terrain does not use.

    I'd re-read the install instructions again, you cause messed this up really bad!!! :haha:

    (sorry laughing!)

  3. Basic computer skills are necessary; things like copy/paste, cut/paste, drag & drop, create folder, etc. EVERYTHING you add goes into the Mods Folder.

    READ the enclosed read me's inside the download -- all you need to know is there. For the most part, the instructions are very simple and easy to follow. And if done by the mod maker correctly <cough> all one needs to do is unzip, and copy/paste the provided folder(s) into the mod folder. It's not rocket science.

    Here's an excerpt from a text file from sometime in the past about installing an aircraft. REMEMBER -- this is just an example aircraft, but the procedure is the same

    Quote

    After unpacking the zip file (in a temporary folder), you’ll find a ‘Readme.txt’ file (that unfortunately doesn’t tell anything about how to install) and two subfolders (Objects and Sounds). The ‘Objects’ contains 3 subfolders: Aircraft, Decals and Weapons. This matches the folder structure of your mod folder.

    The aircraft itself is in the Aircraft folder (you would have guessed that). In this case you will find 6 variants of the Draken. All you have to do is to copy the folder of the aircraft you want in the \Objects\Aircraft of your Mod folder. Then if you start the game and go to Single Missions, the new aircraft will show, and you can fly it.

    However, at this point you’ll find yourself in the cockpit of what sounds like a glider. That’s because the Draken doesn’t use stock engine sounds but comes with its own. These are .wav files that you can find in the ‘Sounds’ folder. You need to copy these files into the Sounds folder in your Mod folder.

    Now you can hear your engine but you will notice that you are mostly unarmed. Again, the Draken comes with a bunch of weapons of her own. These are found in the ‘Objects\Weapons’ folder. Like before, just copy the content of this folder in the matching folder in your Mod folder.

    Finally, this package contains another folder called ‘Decals’. It contains graphic files use to display some decorations on the aircraft (aircraft number, squadron insignia ...). I’m sure you get it now: just copy the content of this folder in the Objects\Decals folder of you Mod folder.

    Note 1: If this his the first time you install an add-on, some of the folders mentioned above do not exist in your Mod folder. You must create them, or simply copy the whole folder from the package to you Mod folder.

    Note 2: The Draken package follow the structure of the Mod folder, but not all aircraft packages are that tidy. But now that you know where things go, you should have no problem to install other aircraft.

    and here's an excerpt from a recent upload of mine, with the Install Instructions

    Quote

    To Install:

    As always reccomended, unzip the "sf2_p51d-crisis_remod_pack.zip" to a temp folder or your desktop or somewhere that's easy to find.

    Then, simply Copy/Paste the /Objects folder DIRECTLY into the SF2 Mods folder of your choice. It's already divided into the /Aircraft and /Decals sub-folders.

    Copy/Paste the supplied /Sounds folder DIRECTLY over the Sounds folder in your mod folder of choice. You may already have these sounds, so just let it Overwrite if asked.

    That should cover it, go fly!

  4. You just run each exe (SF2.exe, SF2V.exe, etc) to create the individual Mods Floders. The game will automatically merge itself Meaning: everything from one mods folder, example, SF2I, will have access to all the aircraft, ground objects and terrains from the other 4.

    I've not installed the full pack,with all the DLCs, but I'm pretty sure they'll all show up in their various forms in each and every mods folder. (somebody please confirm this! --one day I may have to do a reinstall!!! LOL!)

    **easy way to check, is after running the exes and creating the 5 mods folders, if for instance, you can fly the IsraelME map from the SF2E folder/exe)**

  5. in the Options.ini, try this: (the last lines)

    Quote

    [GraphicsOptions]
    DisplayDeviceID=0
    DisplayWidth=1024
    DisplayHeight=768
    DisplayDepth=32
    AspectRatio=1.333333
    AntiAliasing=4
    ForceDX9=FALSE
    ForceVSyncOff=FALSE
    Use32BitZBuffer=TRUE
    LensFlare=0
    DetailLevel=4
    ObjectDetail=2
    ObjectTexture=3
    CockpitTexture=3
    CockpitMirrors=1
    CockpitReflection=1
    EffectsDetail=3
    TerrainDetail=2
    TerrainTexture=3
    HorizonDistance=2
    GroundObjectDensity=3
    WaterDetail=3
    CloudsDetail=2
    Shadow=3
    //ObjectsFade=TRUE
    ObjectsFade=FALSE

    it can't hurt, and it does keep them around (meaning: i don't think it increases the 'draw distance', just keep them from fading out/away)
