Well as I said, I'm not satisfyied with TW F104 shape, that doesn't reflect the slim and typical body of this airplane. As result, I won't pay for something I'll be unsatisfyied with.
I still run the "old" package without problems.
Other modded versions I use (Italians F104's, F104b)are also above in terms of 3d model.
F104 and F14, are typical examples where modded aicrafts are better than stock ones.
But of course it's only a point of view......

Nice work, but using TW F104, whose design is wrong (fuselage section between cockpit and tail is too thick).
I use the "old" (Wrench I think) pack where the "slim" F104 design is perfect compared to "fat" design of TW ones.
Same problem with F14, the modded one reflects perfectly the AC shapes compared with stock one released with North Atlantic.

I use both SF2 and IL2
I'm not a complete map builder, I only like to customize some places in maps by adding or moving some objects.
I did this in IL2 by using the Unlocked FMB which allows easily to modify maps.
And with your tool, it seems that we're getting close of a long time needed feature, that TD forgot to offer.
It will allow in particular, to get rid of these "standard airfield" and cities, killing game immersion in comparison of the very old IL2.
Keep it up!

I have the same problem too with too installs, one on Windows 7 the other in Windows 8.
On both problem appeared with last updates two days ago.
As I use Avast also, I got it desactivated, no joy!
On TW forum, two users exposed the same problem yesterday with no answer from TW for the time being.

Nice model it's a huge improvement from the current one.
There is still mystakes in this 3D model: real nose is not this "straight" cone, it needs to be curved, and jet intakes shape need to reworked a bit.
But anyway it's a great model as it is.
Keep it up.

Hello.
Nice and long waited airplanes!
The only two remarks are:
Textures on IIN and IIB seems too low res, IIA looks better.
The plane is quite unstearable when on the ground.
As only few degrees turns are possible, no way to use taxiways properly, and I don't speak about parking.
Thanks in advance.

I fly SF2 for contemporary period and IL2 for WWII
Even with this kind of trouble, SF2 is a peace of cake, in comparison with IL2 when it comes to updates and new mods.
And I think if Third Wire one day (who knows?) provides us a decent mission editor, and terrains objects like IL2, I'll be very happy to fly only SF2.
So keep it up.

Excellent!
I was desapointed to operate from empty airfields in this campaign.
Keep it up!

Again thanks for the time and explanations.
The four maps were downloaded only few days ago, and I started by Mescalero proving grounds, where no specific work was necessary to point at specifc Cat files, anyway all is okay now, except one thing I discovered in setting up a mission in Libya: both on Libya and Iran/Irak, ships (stock and modded ones)don't appear on ground objets menu? And in differents readmes there is nothing about this subject.
I guess if we were close neighbours, all this shoud deserve some pints at the nearest pub.....

Ok thanks very much.
I understand now the process, interresting but time consumering! I think in the future a more powerful mission builder enabling zooming in, until map beeing replaced by aerial view like IL2 Fmb, will be welcomed by average user like me and experts modders like you mates.
By the way as we are speaking about maps, I have a weard phenomena on three downloaded Maps: Iran-Irak 8O's, Lybia and Falklands. In those three maps Runways, taxiways, and parkings are not showing up! all objects seems to be here... I've downloaded also Mescalero proving grounds, and in this case it's perfect!
Falklands is in a separate install, and the others in SF2 Europe. Looks like those maps search for an missing objects library not present in the stock game?

Thanks again , I already have the mission editor with SF2 Europe exp 2.
But may be a stupid question : where HUD ini is located? I'have seen nothing dedicated to HUD in inis files In the registred parties folder. And I didn't see also an openable file in main game folder. There is a HUD.dll in flight folder that's the only thing with the word HUD I saw in all game folders, but as a newcomer in the game may be I missed something....

Ok Thanks a lot
For ex. in IL2 Normal settings allows me to place stationnary objects for one mission, if I want to change permanently objects in a map, I must change some lines in Config.ini to get unlock FMB, and when job is done revert to normal ini to play game.
1 is the changes applying only for the current mission or for the map itself?
2 Is the hud ini as to be reverted to normal state to play the game or it could be leaved permanently like this.
Thanks in advance

Hello
I didn't saw this subject in the forums.
If I want to add precisely objects on maps what I can do simply?
To compare and be more explicite, I fly also IL2 fully modded, and I'm able to zoom in thru mission editor to place exactly where I want stationnary and moving objects.
In SF2 we can't zoom enough to place stationary or moving objects accuratly.
Also in IL2 I use the unlocked FMB, which allows me to add or remove objects on maps, allways by zooming until I get precise view to place the new objects.
My purpose is not to redo maps (seems to be a huge work as in IL2, and real life gives not enough time to do so), but to add some objects in missions, and also customize a little bit my maps.
Thanks in advance
SF 4.33 idea for the Admins...

This is now a real old game carrying a poor basic campaign/mission editor (and I don't speak about graphics) which is his principal default.
In front of the amount of work to reach the same level as IL2 (all work done by modders community!), which has almost (if I'm not wrong) the same age, what is the real value of this sim?
IL2, and SF2 survives, because there is no real alternative if you're interested in historical sims.
IL2 is perfect for 1914-1951 period, and SF2 for 1951-until now. For WWII for the time beiing there is no alternative appart beta Sims still Under devellopement.
And for modern history DCS could be the alternative, if they offered historical maps and campaigns. Unless you always could fly with P51, FW190, and Huey over Caucasus.....
