Problems with SF2...
Dave replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yes naming conventions are more important than ever. KB speaks the gospel. Example: AGM-130C_IR is no good. The wep editor will reject it (and not tell you). However this works fine, AGM-130CIR. It will recognize that. -

I put the pilots in their own folders and then put them in the aircraft folder. So my question is, does having a "pilots" folder in the "objects" folder work the same? -
You know my Uncle Bob? WOW!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30752514 PHOENIX - A 60-year-old Vietnam War veteran who was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq has become the oldest Army soldier to die in that conflict, the military said Thursday. An Associated Press database of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan shows that Maj. Steven Hutchison, of Scottsdale, Ariz., is the oldest member of any service branch killed since the wars broke out. His brother said Hutchison decided to re-enlist after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the death of his wife. Richard Hutchison said that his older brother wanted to re-enlist immediately after 9/11 but that his wife was against it. He signed up again in July 2007 after she died, according to his brother and the Army. "He was very devoted to the service and to his country," Richard Hutchison said. "I didn't want him to do it, but he had a mind of his own and that's what he wanted to do." The Pentagon said Steven Hutchison was killed in Iraq on Sunday. Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks said Thursday that Hutchison was the oldest Army soldier killed in Iraq. Hutchison was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kan. RIP sir.

There is none that I ever seen. There is no cheap way you got to have 3d max and a clue on how to model. -
This site upgrade he pulled off was nothing short of spectacular. He encountered many problems and beat them all. He lost a lot of sleep too. I think we owe him a huge thanks for doing this on his off time. THANK YOU ERIK!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will be very fine with that set up. Very fine indeed. Also if you get both and I would, you get twice as many planes in the merged install. Finally most of us are moving on with our modding to SF2 and SF2:V. So getting the latest and greatest will be a big benefit. -

Desert Storm Patch Uploaded
Dave replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Did you make a sep install of WOE? If you didnt, then that is the problem. Not trying to sound crass but the word was put out not to do this in anything but a sep install or it will cause you problems. To fix this, make a new install and keep it for DS only. As far as your HD goes, I highly doubt the patch had anything to do with that. I think your HD maybe dying. -

Update, C5 has started the FM. After that I have to send it to ST0RM for a few tiny items. So thanks for your patience. -
Erik has taken steps to make sure that doesn't happen. Even if they did, we got back ups for back ups, for back up in a few locations. We haved learned since the attack from the Chinese a few years ago. Remember that? I used to write for Avsim, many many years ago. I know Tom very well and this is just a terrible terrible thing. Sensless is an understatement. They have been around for 13 years and I see no reason for anyone to have done this.

Only to the end receiver. I personally though it was quite fair. I mean when I started flying that campaign. I had no nukes. About 5 missions into it. I got my new supply and nukes were part of it. Next mission I received an EAM stating that the Parani Air Force were hiding 2 nukes at that base and the use of low yield tactical nukes were authorized. We authenticated the message while airborne. It authenticated as YELLOW TOW 118, with target data to follow. A few minutes later the target data was sent via secure channel. The bomb nav entered the data into the AN/ASQ-42. After we acknowledged all data we were given the green light. We lit the burners, activated the ECM gear and screamed to the target. The warhead was only a 70KT type just enough to take out the field and a few around it but that was it. It was a good mission. The Russians haven't retaliated though because they know they got caught red handed with giving nukes to the Parani's. Still we are flying 24 hour missions armed with nukes as opposed to 12 were before. Also we have beefed up the CAP's around the base in case the Russians try a retaliatory strike. -

A B-47 in SOVIET COLORS? Gen LeMay is rolling in his grave. You can do what you want in this sim of course but that is sacrilege to me. And that is Dave speaking not an Admin.
