Does the patch update all XXX.exe?
TurtleHawk posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Like the topic says, I am wondering if when you patch or install an update, does it update ALL .exe(s), or only stock TW .exe(s)? For example will it update the NATO Fighters IV+, executable, or other campaign specific exe(s) I don't think it does, but thought I'd ask here before, installing the latest update. Thanks -
Does the patch update all XXX.exe?
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Correct me, if I'm wrong, this update doesn't add any new features or optimizations. So, I might wait awhile and just enjoy as is. -

Got it. That's what I thought. Just feeling lazy and didn't want to do what I know has to be done. Thanks for the replies. -

Wasn't this a bug introduce in the second to last upgrade, which was fixed in the latest upgrade, May 2011? -

Getting 3rd party planes to show up in campaigns...
TurtleHawk replied to 33LIMA's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
If you search patiently in the Knowledge Base, there is a tutorial on how to edit planes in an existing campaign. Basically, you can swap one plane/squandron, for another. -
Can't get Taiwan campaign to activate.
TurtleHawk replied to SopmodMikeFour's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Can you select those a/c in single missions? I'm only guessing, it seems like there could be something missing from your install. The more information you provide, the more likely someone can help. The mod has been updated to work with the latest SF2E/I, patch. -
Can't get Taiwan campaign to activate.
TurtleHawk replied to SopmodMikeFour's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
The campaign works. It's one of my favorites because of the modern aircraft, custom terrain, etc. I suggest deleting the mod folder, and starting over. I understand it maybe frustrating. But it is worth the effort. I have all three of the campaigns created by Spectre8750, Israel, Korea and Taiwan, they all work. -
Too cool. My buddy and I considered this idea in the early 90s. Personal ICBM(s) for annoying neighbors...

Horrible FPS
TurtleHawk replied to xclusiv8's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The only idea I might offer would be to go with 6gb of ram, since Win7 will use all of it, unlike Vista/XP. Not sure about fps, in LOMAC. I have A-10C, and it runs okay with max settings on my rig. Win7 x64 i7920@2.6 6gb ram GTX460 SC -
Basic Help
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Thanks, JediMaster. I'll do that for the TIR. I got my FighterStick sort of working, still no joy on the throttle. I know it's something very simple. I'll spend more time on it this weekend. Appreciate the reply. -
From the San Diego Union-Tribune: "In what Navy officials are calling a once-in-a-lifetime show, the air wing from the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis will fly in formation over San Diego Bay. The formation will consist of 35-40 planes and is expected to nearly fill the sky overhead. The planes involved -F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornerts, EA-6B Prowlers, E-2C Hawkeyes and one C-2 Greyhound-, are all of the aircraft that normally travel with a carrier." Too cool. I'm going to hang out on my deck, and watch then go by. And, it's my birthday. It's nice of the Navy to help me celebrate!!

Strike Fighters 2: War For Israel V2.1 Part 1
TurtleHawk replied to Spectre8750's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thanks for your continued work on this. I understand it may not recommended, but can the update be installed over a working installation? And I was wondering, what's fixed/included in the update?
