  2. Dassault Sambad & IAI Sa'ar (1958-1975)

    Dassault Sambad & IAI Sa'ar (1958-1975)

    This skin pack for Thirdwire's stock Super Mystère B2 (Sambad, from the acronym SMBD) and Sa'ar (Tempest) covers every Sambad and Sa'ar in Israeli service from 1958 to 1975. It includes several skins for each type that reflect changed paintschemes, attrition, losses, replenishments and upgrades. The serial numbers are as real as it gets, but due to lack of reliable and/or complete information, some service dates might be wrong.

    The Sambad was the IAF's first supersonic fighter and also its first aircraft with an afterburning engine. On December 4th 1958, the first Israeli Super Mystères arrived at Hatzor's No. 105 Scorpion Squadron. When the J52-P-8A engine became available with the introduction of the A-4 Ayit in late 1967, IAF engineers suggested it replacing the Sambad's unreliable Atar 101G-3 engine. While not afterburning, the J52 was lighter and more powerful than the original engine, allowing for more ordnance and an extended range. Other modifications to the original airframe included an extended rear fuselage to accomodate the new engine (also anticipating and inspiring the 'barrel mod' on the Ayits) and two new hardpoints for the Shafrir 2 air-to-air missile. The first upgraded Sambad - now called IAI Sa'ar - entered service in 1969 and conversion was complete in early 1973. Only two years later, in March 1975, the Sa'ars of No. 105 Squadron were replaced with the F-4E Kurnass. The remaining Sa'ars were sold to Honduras in 1976.

  8. IAI Nesher for SF2I

    IAI Nesher for SF2I

    This package includes all known single seat Neshers of the IAF. The Nesher was in service from 1971 to 1981 in four different squadrons, three of them before and during the Yom Kippur War, in which the type was used with great success.
    By the end of the Yom Kippur War Nesher 510 had shot down 13 enemy aircraft, equalising the record for the highest number of kills for a single Israeli plane, previously held by the Shahaks 58 and 59.

    No. 101 First Fighter Squadron - 1971-1975
    No. 113 Hornet Squadron - 1972-1976
    No. 144 Arava Guardians Squadron - 1972-1978
    No. 253 The Negev Squadron - 1976-1981

    A note on the serial numbers: The historical correct serial numbers in this package include two digit numbers as well as three digit serial numbers. All Neshers were numbered at first with the two digit serial numbers,
    but with the arrival of the two seater, the single seat model's serial numbers where changed to 5XX while the two seaters were numbered 6XX.

    Israeli Vipers Pt.1: No. 144 Arava Guardians Squadron (1994)

    This skin pack is for Thirdwire's stock F-16A Netz and depicts the F-16A given to Israel under the Peace Marble IV (FMS) program as a reward for its restraint during the Gulf War.
    Most of these aircraft were ex-ANG/AFRes aircraft that retained their USAF air superiority grey color scheme in Israeli service. They joined 144 Squadron at Hatzor AB,
    making 144 the biggest fighter squadron in the IDFAF at that time. While at 144 Squadron, they underwent a series of upgrades, bringing them to the standard of the Netz already in service,
    including the adaption of the standard Netz paint scheme.

    INSTALLATION:
    If you already have the A-4AR installed, you're free to skip steps 1 and 2.
    (1) Download Wrench's A-4AR (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=7012)
    (2) Install the aircraft. If necessary: Read the readme.

    (4) Now delete all ini files, bmps and the skin folder. LODs, TGAs and the cockpit folder stay where they are.
    (5) Copy the content from the A-4N folder provided in this archive to the one you just have created OR simply move the A-4N folder from the archive to your aircraft folder.
    (6) Go fly and don't blame me for any inaccuracies. ;)

    KNOWN ISSUES:
    Though the real life A-4N is based on the M model, this mod uses the F model, so you have to live with the following issues:
    -wrong shape of the vertical stabilizer
    -wrong shape of canopy and windscreen
    -missing fairings and antennas
    -30mm DEFA autocannons mounted in the wing root (might be adressed in a future update)
    Please note that this mod is for WOI only, since the skin uses some stock decals.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
    Thanks to TK for WoI and all the other great games.
    Special thanks to Wrench for creating the A-4AR. All I did was renaming and tweaking the inis and the skin, so credit where credit is due.

    Enjoy!

  22. F-16A (144 Squadron) skin for WoI

    F-16A Netz 'Guardians of the Arava' (144 Squadron) skin for WoI:

    This skin is for Thirdwire's stock F-16A Netz and depicts a batch of F-16A given to Israel under the Peace Marble IV program as a reward for its restraint during the Gulf War. Most of these aircraft were ex-ANG/AFRes aircraft, that retained their USAF air superiority gray color scheme in Israeli service. They joined 144 Squadron at Hatzor AB, making 144 the biggest fighter squadron. It seems that they were randomly numbered in the 7XX range, so I picked 752, 777 and everything in between.

    INSTALLATION:
    Unzip the 'IDFgrey' folder to your F-16A_Netz folder and add the following entry to your F-16A_Netz.ini:

    [TextureSet002]
    Directory=IDFgrey
    Name=IDF Grey
    Nation=ISRAEL
    Specular=0.400000
    Glossiness=0.400000
    Reflection=0.000000
    Squadron=144IDF

  23. F-100D 'Pretty Penny' (481TFS)

    F-100D 'Pretty Penny' (481TFS) skin for WoV:

    This skin is for Thirdwire's stock F-100D.

    INSTALLATION:
    Unzip to a temp directory and copy&paste the 'PrettyPenny' folder to your F-100D folder.
    Since only decals and ini's are provided, you'll have to go to your USAFSilver folder and copy&paste the following files into the 'PrettyPenny' folder:

    F-100D_1.bmp
    F-100D_2.bmp
    F-100D_3.bmp
    F-100D_4.bmp

    Those from Bassman's skin pack (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=1507) will work as well.

    KNOWN ISSUES:
    None, but the kills marks are missing and the markings are in black instead of insignia blue.
    The latter issue won't be fixed, since both sources show black markings.
