  2. [Fictional] Yakovlev Yak-130F for Strike Fighters 2

Yakovlev Yak-130F for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the Yak-130 by UllyB to create a fictional Yak-130F in service with the Finnish Ilmavoimat in the 2016-2030 timeline.

    BACKSTORY
At the end of the Cold War the Finnish Air Force relaxed it's policy of alternating it's combat aircraft purchases between Soviet and Western types and replaced both the Saab Draken and the MiG-21 with American F-18C and D Hornets with the F-18C's being assembled by Valmet in Finland. Soon after Finland declared that all the provisions of the Paris Peace Treaties, including those limiting the size and scope of it's armed forces, were nullified. This closed the door on Russian exports to Finland until September 2011 when, unexpectedly, the Libyan National Transitional Council cancelled Libya's order for six Yak-130 advanced jet trainers. Almost immediately, the Russian Government instructed the Irkut Corporation to offer these aircraft to Finland at a discounted and allegedly heavily subsidised price.
The six Yak-130's were delivered to the Finnish Air Force Academy in Tikkakoski with the first aircraft arriving in November 2012. Finnish Air Force officials were so impressed with the Yak-130 that they recommended to the Finnish Ministry of Defence to make a further purchase of the Yak-130 but specifically tailored to the light attack role and with the benefit of reducing the number of aircraft required for the Hornet replacement programme (later re-named as the HX Fighter Program). With input from the Irkut Corporation and the Finnish Air Force a new export version of the Yak-130 was quickly drafted and offered to the Finnish Government as the Yak-130F (F=Finlyandiya). In March 2013 Finland ordered 14 Yak-130F's for delivery during 2015 and 2016. Entering service with the newly re-formed Fighter Squadron 21 at Pirkkala in May 2016 the aircraft operate in the light attack role with a recent upgrade allowing them to use GBU-32 and GBU-38 precision guided munitions.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Yak-130F folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Yak-130F folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop all files into your Weapons folder. This simply adds some weapons to give you the loadout I've chosen but you can select whatever you want.
    That's it!

  3. [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas F-4DA for SF2

McDonnell Douglas F-4DA Phantom (Argentina) for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-4D to create a fictional F-4DA in service with the Argentine Air Force in the 1979-2010 timeline.

    BACKSTORY
During the early 1960's the Fuerza Aérea Argentina (FAA) began an ambitious plan to replace the F-86F Sabre then in service as their main interceptor-fighter. The British English Electric Lightning was briefly considered but was quickly dismissed on account of it's very short range. The Swedish Saab Draken was successfully evaluated and FAA pilots submitted a very favourable report as was the French Dassault Mirage III and it seemed likely that a decision would be made between these two competing aircraft. However, the end of the Frondizi government in 1962 and the subsequent turmoil over the next few years saw the FAA's plans put on hold but the Israeli's successful use of the Mirage III in the 1967 Six-Day War saw the FAA finally decide on the French aircraft. However negotiations with the French Government came to an abrupt end in May 1968 when Juan Carlos Onganía, fearful of a coup d'état, dismissed the leaders of the Armed Forces and cancelled the Mirage order.
The 1973 elections (the first general elections for ten years) saw Dr. Hector Cámpora elected as President with a campaign based on a platform of national reconstruction. For the FAA this meant that it's F-86 replacement plans could finally continue but with an aircraft from an unexpected source. Despite the turmoil of Argentina's recent history, the US State Department saw Argentina as a bulwark of anti-Communism in South America and US President Richard Nixon sanctioned the export of 28 ex-USAF F-4D's with deliveries to Grupo 4 de Caza starting in August 1973 and deliveries to Grupo 8 de Caza starting in January 1974. The 1976 US Presidential elections saw incoming President Jimmy Carter highlight issues of human rights and eventually secure a congressional cutoff of all US arms transfers to Argentina and the FAA found it increasingly hard to support Phantom operations except by clandestine support. The FAA used the Phantom during the 1982 Guerra de las Malvinas as a long-range strike aircraft but the FAA's lack of aerial refueling capability and the long distance from their bases dramatically reduced their ability. After 1982 the FAA's Phantom force was increasingly supported by Israel Aircraft Industries and although no additional aircraft could be sourced the remaining 17 aircraft remained in service until 2010.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4DA folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4DA folder into your Decals folder.
That's it! For Argentine weapons I recommend you get them from the excellent SF2 Falklands Mod (Redux) by eburger68.

  5. [Fictional] AMD/BAC Taranis FGA.1

    AMD/BAC Taranis FGA.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Kfir C1 to give a fictional AMD/BAC Taranis FGA.1 fighter-bomber with markings for No.1, No.6 and No.54 squadrons of the Royal Air Force in the late
    1960's and 1970's.
    BACKSTORY
The RAF's search for a Hunter replacement took many twists and turns but by 1962 the focus had come back to a more basic and austere fighter-bomber but still with supersonic performance.
Dassault had previously proposed the promising Avon-Mirage (first flown in February 1961) to the RAF and had also unsuccessfully offered it to both Australia and Switzerland but by 1963 Rolls-Royce and SNECMA were offering their outstanding Sequanna turbofan to Dassault with the potential for 12,000lbs of dry thrust and 18,000lbs with reheat.
However it was not until the cancellation of the TSR.2 in April 1965 that BAC and Dassault could formally combine to offer a version of the Mirage IV delta-winged bomber to the RAF and also the
proposed Mirage 'Angleterre' fighter-bomber, both powered by the Sequanna and both immediately accepted by the UK Labour government with a formal order issued in 1965. BAC's involvement was
clearly politcal (and initially confined to the production of the UK versions of both aircraft) the BAC Warton team threw themselves into both projects being just grateful to actually have something
on the assembly line after the Lightning.
Whilst based on the proposed Mirage V (to meet an Israeli requirement for a simplied Mirage III) the Sequanna powered version of the Mirage required slightly larger intakes and also an additional air
inlet installed at the base of the vertical stabilizer for additional cooling air needed for the SNECMA designed afterburner. In June 1965 the 'Taranis' name was bestowed upon the aircraft and development moved swiftly during 1965 and 1966 culminating with René Bigand flying the first prototype from Istres in early December 1966 whilst the second prototype flew from Warton in the following March flown by Roland Beamont.
The Taranis entered service with EC 1/2 'Cigognes' Armée de l'Air in August 1968 and with No.1 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in January 1969.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the TARANIS_FGA1 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the TARANIS_FGA1 folder into your Decals folder.

  6. [Fictional] Lockheed F-104H Starfighter for SF2

Lockheed F-104H Starfighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional F-104H in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina in the 1968-2006 timeline and with markings for;
    Grupo 8 (SEA Camo)
    Grupo 6 (Lo-Viz Grey N.B. StartDefaultDate=1983)
    Grupo 4 (Green/Grey Camo)

    BACKSTORY
During the Spring of 1965 the Fuerza Aérea Argentina formally issued an operational requirement for a supersonic fighter-bomber to supplement and eventually replace it's F-86 Sabre force and to operate alongside the Douglas Skyhawks that were just entering service. The BAC Lightning was quickly ruled out as being short on range and undeveloped in the air-to-ground role and by the end of 1965 Fuerza Aérea Argentina officials declared that the choice was between the Dassault Mirage III and the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Lockheed had proposed a new variant, the F-104H, a projected export version based on the F-104G but with an optical gunsight and simplified equipment. Following a visit by Lockheed representatives to the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires in early July 1966 the newly inaugurated President Juan Carlos Onganía announced that 36 F-104H's would be procured for the Fuerza Aérea Argentina. Entering service in March 1968 with Grupo 8 de Caza at the Military Air Base Mariano Moreno the F-104H's served until 2006 when the last Starfighters operating anywhere in the world were finally retired.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Decals folder.
That's it! I've kept the loadouts to basic stock weapons but if you have Argentine weapons in your install then it's worth editing the F-104H_Loadout.ini to suit what you have.

Lockheed Starfighter F.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock F-104G to create a fictional Starfighter F.3 in service with the Royal Air Force in the 1980-1991 timeline and it includes markings for No.29 Squadron and No.56 Squadron with 18 contemporary serial numbers shared between them.
    BACKSTORY
Delays in the UK's Tornado ADV programme lead to the RAF upgrading 38 Lockheed Starfighter FGR.2's to a new F.3 standard featuring the uprated J79-GE-19 engine (developing 12,000lbs dry thrust and 17,900lbs with afterburner) and the improved NASARR R-21G/H radar with moving target indicator and continuous wave illuminator for the Skyflash semi-active radar homing missile. Entering service with No.29 Squadron in 1980 the Starfighter F.3's remained in service until 1991.

    INSTRUCTIONS

  8. [Fictional] SOKO Kometa for Strike Fighters 2

SOKO Kometa for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the superb Chengdu J-10A by the Insky Group to create a fictional SOKO Kometa in service with the Serbian Air Force. Two Serbian squadrons are included (101st & 241st) as well as a bonus Montenegrin Air Force skin but you'll need to add them to your nations list as they are not featured in a stock install.
    BACKSTORY
In May 1982 the government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, led by Petar Stambolić, announced the ambitious 'Novi Avion' programme with the aim of designing and manufacturing an air superiority fighter to supplement and eventually replace the Yugoslavian Air Force's substantial MiG-21 force. SOKO (the state aircraft manufacturer) were awarded a design study contract and by 1984 their proposal had crystallized into a single-engine, supersonic fighter aircraft featuring a delta wing with a canard foreplane. The 'Novi Avion' programme seemed to mimic the Republic's move away from Communism to a market economy by becoming a much more capable multi-role aircraft and therefore more attractive to potential export customers. Whilst this did mean an unavoidable escalation in aircraft size and weight it did mean that the excellent Lyulka AL-31F engine (as used in the Sukhoi Su-27) would be a perfect match.
In May 1986 the Yugoslavian Government ordered 150 'Novi Avion' aircraft to replace both its MiG-21 and Soko J-21 Jastreb fleets and the following month saw SOKO rename the aircraft as the SOKO Kometa (Comet). Development moved smoothly during the remainder of the decade and many elements of the aircraft programme such as production facilities, mock-up, cockpit simulator, etc. had been constructed. However the start of the new decade saw the political situation in Yugoslavia worsen and by 1991 Yugoslavia had begun to disintegrate into several smaller nations. Putting a brave face on the situation, SOKO announced a postponement of the programme but also an intent to continue "as soon as possible". Production facilities were partially dismantled and relocated to Serbia with SOKO absorbing Utva Aviation Industry (based in Pančevo) who had previously worked with SOKO in the manufacturing of the J-22 Orao and also the G-4 Super Galeb.
On April 28th, 1992 the two remaining republics of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, formed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and President Dobrica Ćosić wasted no time in re-launching the Kometa programme. Behind the scenes, SOKO were instructed to simplify certain aspects of the Kometa and the UN economic sanctions imposed on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were bypassed largely by switching to Chinese avionics. SOKO worked miracles in assembling the first Kometa prototype during 1997 although the first flight would have to wait until May 1st, 1998 when Major General Dragan Mihajlović lifted off from Batajnica Air Base. In 2003 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia became officially known as the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro but by 2006 Montenegro left the union following a referendum leading to the full independence of Serbia and Montenegro. This political instability slowed the programme even further and it was not until June 5th, 2006 that the Kometa entered service with the 101st Squadron of the Serbian Air Force.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Kometa folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Kometa folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop all files into your Weapons folder.

  9. Supermarine Skylark F.1 (Super Mystère B2)

Supermarine Skylark F.1 for SF1 Wings Over Israel
This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Dassault Super Mystère B2 to give a 'what if' Supermarine Skylark F.1 with markings for No.5, No.11, No.23 and No.29 squadrons of the Royal Air Force's Fighter Command during the late 1950's and early 1960's era.
It is essential that you have Wings Over Israel as this is the only 'Series One' game to have the Mystère IV LOD's.

    BACKSTORY

The adoption of the earlier Dassault Mystère IV (licence-built by Supermarine Aviation as the Siskin F.1) encouraged Dassault to offer the forthcoming Super Mystère to the UK Government to meet the RAF's requirement for a Venom replacement for overseas use. However, by mid-1955 the requirement had changed to that for a supersonic interceptor-fighter for RAF Fighter Command to supplement the Hunter F.6 and provide a lead-in to the Mach 2 English Electric Lightning.
By this time the Super Mystère prototype had flown (initially powered by a Rolls Royce Avon RA.7R) and the successful early flight-testing gave the RAF the confidence to quickly draft an official Operational Requirement based around a Super Mystère powered by the proposed Avon RA.21R and armed with 2 x 30mm ADEN cannon. Supermarine were selected to licence-build the Super Mystère at South Marston as the Supermarine Skylark F.1 for RAF Fighter Command and with an initial order for 120 aircraft and soon supplemented with an order for 45 Skylark FR.2's for RAF Germany (carrying centreline Vinten camera pods).
Whilst Dassault quickly moved on to the Mirage family of delta-winged fighters the Skylark was further developed by Supermarine as the FGA.3 fighter-bomber for the RAF and also exported to Finland, India and Saudi Arabia.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Drop the SkylarkF1 folder into your Aircraft folder.

  10. B-42A Mixmaster for Strike Fighters 2

Douglas B-42A Mixmaster for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is the B-42 Mixmaster by veltro2k with some fictional 'in service' operational USAAF/USAF B-42A schemes using Third Wire's date switch to give you the USAAF starbar in 1944 to 1947 and then the USAF starbar (and nation name) from 1948 onwards. You can fly the prototype in 1944 and for gameplay reasons we've placed it in service from 1945 onwards with service years allowing for use in the Korean War (check out the night scheme) and all operational schemes have new nose art decals.
The unique feature of the B-42 is, of course, it's twin bubble canopies and this caused some problems when 'in cockpit' as panning to starboard cannot accurately show a real world view of the right-hand canopy, the co-pilot and his cockpit so it's a bit of a compromise which we trust you will accept. If anyone can suggest any improvements in the cockpit view then let us know.
It's likely some of you will want to do your own skins for favourite squadrons or perhaps for export versions so a template is included and we'd love to see your results!

    The B-42A Mixmaster is brought to you by;
    B-42 3D Model - veltro2k
    B-42A Skins/Decals - Spinners
    B-42A FM and ini's - Wrench

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the B-42A folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the B-42A folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the enclosed folders into your Weapons folder.
    4. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the enclosed sound file into your Sounds folder.

  11. [Fictional] RAF SEPECAT Jaguar FGR.3

SEPECAT Jaguar FGR.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the excellent 'The Mirage Factory' Jaguar GR.1 to give a 'what if' Jaguar FGR.3 tactical fighter with markings for No.45 and No.58 squadrons of No.38 Group, RAF Strike Command. This revision now also includes a desert camo skin for No.112 squadron and uses a revised 3D model.

    BACKSTORY
In 1974 a cancelled export order for 50 Jaguar Internationals left the SEPECAT consortium with a headache as many 'long lead' items had already been ordered and assembly was already underway on the first 12 airframes. At this time the RAF were keen to order more Jaguars to form a second wing of No.38 Group, RAF Strike Command and, with the delays in the Tornado production programme meaning a shortage of work at BAC's Warton factory,  BAC pushed the Labour government into accepting a deal for all 50 aircraft. Some consideration was given to standardising the aircraft to match the RAF's GR.1 force but the uprated Adour engines and different avionics saw the aircraft confusingly designated as the Jaguar FGR.3.
Entering service in early 1977 the Jaguar FGR.3's served with No.45 and No.58 squadrons as part of No.38 Group and also with a reformed No.112 Squadron detached to RAF Near East Air Force. The FGR.3's uprated Adour engines and early introduction of overwing missile rails made them something of an elite element within the RAF's Jaguar force and they were deployed to many hot-spots around the world until their somewhat premature retirement in 2002.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the JaguarFGR3 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the JaguarFGR3 folder into your Decals folder.
    3. Empty the contents of the WEAPONS folder into your Weapons folder
    4. Empty the contents of the PILOTS folder into your main Pilots folder.
    5. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the Adour sound file into your Sounds folder.

  12. VL Myrsky II - WW2 Indigenous Finnish Fighter (by Veltro 2K)

VL Myrsky II 'Storm' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
The VL Myrsky II ('Storm') was a Finnish World War II fighter designed by the State Aircraft Factory (Valtion Lentokonetehdas) for the Finnish Air Force. Entering service during August 1944 the Myrsky was reasonably fast and manoeuvrable enough to dogfight contemporary Soviet aircraftand and it's wide undercarriage gave it decent ground-handling properties. Myrsky usage ended in May 1947 and the last Myrsky flight was made in February 1948.
Veltro2K very kindly made this for me back in 2014 and it's another one of the lesser known aircraft that he has brought to Strike Fighters.
For this revision we have a much better flight model and working flaps.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Myrsky folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Myrsky folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the TwinWasp file into your Sounds folder.
That's it! Although you will need to source a suitable 'prop pilot' for your Myrsky.

  14. [Fictional] Sukhoi Su-24P 'Fencer' for SF2

Sukhoi Su-24P for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of Veltro2K's Su-24 'Fencer' to create a fictional Su-24P in service with the Republic of Paran Air Force in the 1980-2020 timeline.
Please note that this Su-24P is released 'as is' (in response to a request) and it really needs some additional work on loadouts and the skin. In addition, the 3D model unfortunately has some 'rope' issues so you might want to turn shadows off.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Su-24P folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Su-24P folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the PTB-3000P folder into your Weapons folder.
    That's it!

    CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Special thanks to Veltro2K for bringing so many cool aircraft to Strike Fighters including this one.

McDonnell Douglas F-4E 'FACH' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-4E_75 to give a fictional Phantom F-4E 'FACH' as it might have appeared in service with the Fuerza Aérea de Chile and fictional 'Tiger' markings are included for Grupo de Aviacion Nº 12.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4E_FACH folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4E_FACH folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

  16. Debris Gone!

Are you fed up of debris flying up in the air and spoiling your screenshot, or not matching your paint scheme (or your navigator's eyes)?
Then use 'Debris Gone' and banish debris today!
OK. As an unexpected request, here is a simple replacement for the stock DEBRIS.tga which you can put into your Flight folder and remove flying debris. The original DEBRIS.tga will remain safe and snug in your CAT files so if you don't like you can just delete it and your game is back to normal. If you haven't got a flight folder then just put my Flight folder into your main folder (not in your Objects folder - go up one level).
Special thanks to Migbuster for giving me the idea.
    Regards

  17. De Havilland Vampire F.8

De Havilland Vampire F.8 for SF1
This aircraft mod will create a 'what if' de havilland Vampire F.8 with colourful post-war markings for No.3, No.4, No.98 and No.263 squadrons of the Royal Air Force.

This is a revised upload that was originally for SF2 but mistakenly got left in the SF1 section when the SF1/SF2 split happened and as I can't get SFG/WOX to work on my W10 desktop I've not been able to test it. I think I've got the reverse engineering right but the one thing I can't do is sort out the rockets and tanks (it's so much easier in SF2).

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Drop the Vampire_F8 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    That's it.

    CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Thanks to Pasko for this superb add-on aircraft (one of his many), Gramps for the skins and also Don (C5) for the FM.

This aircraft mod will create a 'what if' de havilland Vampire FB.7 with colourful post-war markings for No.6, No.8 and No.20 squadrons of the Royal Air Force.

This is a revised upload that was originally for SF2 but mistakenly got left in the SF1 section when the big SF1/SF2 split happened and as I can't get SFG/WOX to work on my W10 desktop I've not been able to test it. 19. [Fictional] de Havilland Vampire FB.7 for SF2

de Havilland Vampire FB.7 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a simple mod of Pasko's Vampire FB.5 to create a fictional Vampire FB.7 in service with the Royal Dhimari Air Force in the 1950 to 1962 timeline with markings for the following three squadrons;

    No.6 Squadron - 'The Eagles'
    No.11 Squadron - 'The Rams'
    No.13 Squadron - 'The Antelopes'
Whilst we now have Third Wire Vampires I hope this version is of interest to those who don't have that particular expansion pack and it also allows me to use Stary's lovely Vampire cockpit.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the VampireFB7 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the VampireFB7 folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop both folders into your Weapons folder.
    That's it!

Thanks also to Gramps for the desert camo skin and also to Don (C5) for the FM which works just fine in SF2.

  20. [Fictional] Dhimari F-4E Phantom

McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a simple mod of the stock F-4E to give a Dhimari F-4E Phantom with markings for;
    No.1 Squadron - 'The Panthers'
    No.2 Squadron - 'The Hawks'
As this mod uses the early 'short cannon' F-4E I have restricted the service dates to 1968 to 1973 inclusive. At some time in the future I'll get a later Dhimari F-4E sorted.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4E_Dh folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4E_Dh folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

  21. [Fictional] Douglas Dakota C.3 - RAF Desert Camo

Douglas Dakota C.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock C-47A to create a Dakota C.3 in service with the Royal Air Force in the 1948-1967 timeline. Of course, the Royal Air Force were a big user of the Dakota but not in this fictional desert camo scheme which is loosely based on the original Lockheed Hercules C.1 scheme of the very early 1970's (quite an odd scheme for the times). It is flyable and RECON has been added as a secondary role so that you fly low-level recce missions and watch those MiG's stall and crash!

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

    CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Special thanks to gerwin for this lovely desert camo to which I've simply added black undersides and decals.

  22. [Fictional] Martin B-57B Dhimari 'Canberra'

Martin B-57B (Dhimar) for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire B-57B to give a flyable B-57B (Dhimar) in service with the Dhimari Air Force with markings for;
    No.7 Squadron - 'The Rattlesnakes'
    No.8 Squadron - 'The Scorpions'
Please note that this updated package now requires you to have SF2 Expansion Pack 2 as the stock B-57B was revised (much nicer - check it out).

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the B-57B_Dh folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the B-57B_Dh folder into your Decals folder.

  23. [Fictional] Gloster Javelin F.Mk56 'Dhanush'

Gloster Javelin F.Mk56 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the Veltro2K's superb Gloster Javelin to give a fictional Javelin F.Mk56 'Dhanush' of the Indian Air Force with markings for the equally fictitious No.36 'Trishula' squadron and, in this revised upload, I've also included markings for No.14 Squadron (Bulls).

    BACKSTORY
The expansion of the Indian Air Force during the mid-1950's saw the planned procurement of the Hawker Hunter fighter-bomber and the English Electric Canberra bomber in substantial quantities but Indian Air Force planners saw the lack of an all-weather interceptor as a problem and urged the Indian Government for increased funds for a suitable aircraft. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru initially blocked the idea but soon agreed to allow a delegation from the Gloster Aviation Company to make a presentation to the Indian Government and the Chiefs of the Indian Air Force.
With the end of the Javelin production line looming Gloster were proposing two new export version of the Javelin Mk8 to India -  the F.Mk55 (Sapphire-enginned) and F.Mk56 (Avon-enginned) versions. Indian Air Force chiefs were very enthusiastic about the possibility of having its three main combat aircraft use the same jet engine (albeit the Javelin's Mk.205 Avon engines had a simple afterburner fitted) and urged Nehru to proceed with the purchase of 80 aircaft but Nehru demanded to meet the Gloster delegation himself to thrash out terms. Gloster cannily sent Graeme Kimmage, who had attended Cambridge University with Nehru, to conduct the negotiations and eventually secure a deal for 80 Javelin F.Mk56's.
Entering service with No.36 'Trishula' squadron based at Pathankot in 1958 the Javelins only really became a complete weapon system when mated with the indigenous 'Baan' (Arrow) air-to-air missile which entered service in 1960. From this time the Javelins quickly earned the most appropriate nickname of 'Dhanush' (bow) and saw  limited service over Goa (in the recconnaisance role) but played a major role in the 1965 war with Pakistan claiming several kills including three F-86's, one F-104 and six B-57's. However, with the MiG-21 entering service the Javelin's days were numbered and the Javelin force slowly faded away and by 1975 the popular and legendary 'Dhanush' had gone for good.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Javelin56 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Javelin56 folder into your Decals folder.
    3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the 'BAAN' and 'TANK300_JAV' folders to your Weapons folder.
    That's it!

    CREDITS

Special thanks to the prolific Veltro2K for producing 'the harmonious dragmaster'.
Thanks also to Paulopanz for the excellent skin used in this revised upload.

    Saunders-Roe Firebar FAW.2 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the Yak-28P 'Firebar' to give a very fictional Saunders-Roe Firebar FAW.2 in service with No.29 squadron of the Royal Air Force. The Firebar is such a cool-looking Cold War jet and after dressing it up in RAF markings and posting screenshots a couple of people asked for it so here it is.
