  1. It makes you feel bad shooting down the enemy. You almost hope their plane doesn't explode. Just Kidding! Shoot'em Up!
  2. Have not tried it yet. On the list of things to try out for sure. It's hard to keep up these days with all the good stuff available.
  3. Hey Mike Dora, have you tried the Armed Balloons method by WarlordATF? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=7544. Adding AAA around Balloons is very time consuming. It has to be done in the Terrain files ex: Cambria/ types.ini files etc, etc. Every coordinate there is for a balloon, you can add a AAA gun around the Balloon by changing the coordinates just a hair. I havnt done it yet but it can be done. There is a thread for it I think from a couple of months back. I dont know the link to it. But look around. It can be done easily. Just time consuming.
  4. Yeah, somewhere when messing with my effects I missed placed the gun smoke that I was using. Now I get the squiggly lines. I havnt been able to work on it yet. Not sure what happened or what I need to do To get back the correct smoke effect from gun fire.
  5. If you go to the A-Team Skunkworks Site, http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/, you'll find a download of AA Gunners (single man armed machineguns). If you place them in your ground objects folder they appear at random all over the map. Also around all the airfields. They shoot some good bursts with tracers. They will help take care of those vultures that follow you home. You can find it under weapons and vehicles. You do need a password though. It's easy.
  6. It's awsome bucky! Almost funny when you here the wav file alone. But a great addition to the sounds. Thanks.
  7. Excellent Laton! Congrats to you. I've been married for 1 1/2 years. It's a great thing. Enjoy it!
  8. I like them. I just dont like the wiggly lines that fly by in cockpit view. Can that be changed some how? It looks better in motion ofcourse.
  9. Does anyone know who flew these three Dr.1's of Jasta 12? Also, does anyone know where there is a photo of the Dr.1 with the oval shaped fuselage marking? I've never seen a photo of it. Is there a photo of it? And again who flew it?
  10. The tracers could be toned down a bit. I like them though. The only problem I find with them is, from the cockpit view, as they pass the pilots face they appear as a whole bunch of squiggly lines (small wavy lines). I know thats the way the .tga file has to be. But is there a way to make the gun barrel smoke ( like Latons version) appear first then the tracers. The smoke effect is missing now from the gun fire. The wavy lines only is weird looking from the cockpit.
  11. I see you're doing your own skins for it. Very cool. Nothing would need to be done then. Just install and play. Are you going to make generic squadron skins or just personal skins.
  12. View File Albatros DV Jasta 23b 6-Pack This is a 6-pack of Jasta 23b Albatros D.V's. Used from mid 1917 to 1918. 1. Otto Kissenberth (black fuselage) 2. Ltn. Heinrich Seywald ("S" ensignia on fuselage side) 3. Ltn. Theodor Rumpel (green fuselage) 4. Ltn. Theodor Rumpel (orange-red fuselage) 5. Ltn. Friedrich Ritter von Roth (black and white circle on fuselage sides) 6. Jasta23b Black (generic Jasta 23b D.V with black tail and white banding). Can be used along with the stock Jasta 23b D.V with only the white band. I left the stock Lozenge Camo on the wings. Seems a bit dark but I would be guessing at a right shade. 14. Ah, got it. Thanks Laton. Stary's version was the one I had saved. Didnt realize it. I'm back in business.
  15. Yep! Thats what it was. The names under bulletobject.ini all said [TracerEmitterName=TracerSmoke2Emitter]. I dont know where the 2 came from. I removed the 2 in all places now the tracers appear. Why does my bulletobject.ini have a different name for the effect? All the effect downloads are named TracerSmokeEmitter? Oh well. Big thanks to you Laton
  16. What should it say? Because I had to revert back to the stock bulletobject .ini. I have everything in the effects folder back to what I want and still no tracer smoke. I figured it has to be a problem somewhere else. Object folder maybe? That is where the bulletobject.ini is. I'll check. Thanks Laton.
  17. Thanks A6Intruder, I'll give it a try. But I think I might have tried this one already. Not sure though. I have a tracer smoke files installed, but nothing is showing up. We'll see. Thanks.
  18. Ok, couldnt sleep last night because my daughter didnt want to sleep. Awsome right? So I was wide awake at 3:00 am and decided to mess with some of the new effects packages. DO NOT mod when tired and mad! Any way I was mixing some effects to get things the way I would like them. Some things werent right so I tried to delete some things and reinstall my original Tracer Smoke effect (Latons version). Well it's gone of course. Ive tried all versions of the Tacer Smoke I had saved, the .tga and the Tracer Smoke Emitter file. But no matter what I do, no tracer smoke appears. The smoke from the guns is there and the insendiary bullets are there too. Just no tracers. Anyone have any ideas? Could someone maybe send me a PM with their complete tracer smoke package? I might have deleted something important I dont know about. So I cant really tell anyone what I did. It was late and I was tired
  19. It says "File not found" I cant download it. What happened?
  20. Well I've messed a little with the "Environmentsystem Configuration Settings" file in the flight folder a bit. The overall environment seems to be way to dark for me. On a clear day it should be very bright. So I've changed the settings a bit. [Day] SunHeight=0.240 SunBrightness=1.20 <------- increased value here SunLightLevel=1.60<--------- and here SunRadiance=0.0 TwilightLensFlare=0.0 SunColor=0.595,0.600,0.578 AmbientColor=0.300,0.300,0.335 SkyColor=0.376,0.564,0.815 HorizonColor=0.811,0.815,0.937 FogColor=0.564,0.627,0.805 SunSpecularColor=0.81,0.762,0.740 It brightened the environment up a bit. But, the higher you make the values the more that jagged horizon haze appears on the terrain and the smoke effect color starts to change to a green-blue. I want to increase the values even more but I dont know how to change the smoke colors (all smoke effects get changed) and how to get rid of that jagged haze close to the horizon on the terrain. Typical, you try to fix one thing then it messes up something else. It's great fishing around here with all these cans of worms
  21. Let me at it! I've been waiting for this one. Lots of skins in mind. My triplanes need to escort something.
  22. I'm not sure if this is what you mean but try this. In the Camel folders ,110, 130, and 150, open the "CamelF1 Configuration Settings. This is where the TextureSets are. If you place the RAFBrown red, for example, In the first TextureSet position [TextureSet001] It will always appear as the default skin in Single Missions and Campaigns. This will work for any plane and skin. Just make sure the TextureSet numbers are still in number order. The skin will appear in all flight positions. If you want each flight to be different you have to change them manually. Hope this is what you meant.
  23. Is it just me or is the new CombatAce site really really slow? Every window I click on takes a good ten seconds or so to load. It's like I'm back to dial-up. I'm currently using cable (LAN). Is it because it's still in the works or is it the way it's going to be. I hope it's not going to be this way. Pretty frustrating.
  24. Thanks for the nice reply there Stary. I thought you or someone else would chew me out. I did see that stuff in the readme. I'm going to try it out. I would like to keep all of your terrain work. I was going to work on the trees myself. But I'll give your other settings a go first.
  25. I dont think I'm getting that blue-green smoke problem with this terrain download. I'll have to check. Very cool seasonal transitions though I must say The terrain its self is amazing. The fields, rivers and roads look incredible! But I'm going to have to be a d--k here and comment on the trees. They seem to be too dark and thick (to me). They appear to be like a watercolor painting. The edges of the trees are very thick and sharp. I feel like a big d--k for saying this I know how hard you worked on it, but I've been changing the trees back to the originals. I'm keeping all the terrain and seasons. Just changing back to the stock tree appearance. I know it would take a long time to fix the trees to make them more realistic, there are soo many tree files. Maybe try making the trees less thick, maybe more transparent? I dont know. Sorry for the comment. I love the rest of it though.
