Here is a profile for SF2Hi Guys. I have used shoot for my setup and find that if a command is misunderstood once, then it gafs up the rest of commands. I would like to try VAC. Is there anywhere to DL profile?

Hey BlazeI've just tried on Win 10, I encountered the same problem. The program doesn't initialize and shows me the following error message:
There was an error initializing the speech recognition engine (0x80004005).
Make sure you have correctly installed a SAPI 5.1-compatible speech recognition engine.
Shoot will now quit.
I've tried everything to solve it, I made sure to install everything that was necessary, including the old version of .NET Framework. I really have no idea why this happens.
Not sure about W10 but I have it running smoothly in W7
As I stated earlier you need to use the updated exe
Edit:
I just went back re-read your post and perhaps a non English version of windows could be the cause..??
But if you haven't tried the shoot2.0exe then it definitely wont work

Shoot works well in SF
This link will get you everything you need
http://combatace.com/files/file/12208-shoot-sf2-profile/
Read in the comments where I post a link to a new exe for the program which makes it compatible with Windows 7

SF2
Prepar3d
Assetto Corsa
FC2-----but I rarely use it
Arma3-----just learning it, and it needs much more effort than I've been able to give it

If you are flying any of the newer versions of the bug then you need to manually adjust your flaps on approach.....and that will definitely explain your high approach speed

This should fix the rudders for you.......
comment out the rudder toe in/toe out statements under both Left and RightVertTails thusly:
SystemName[005]=//LeftRudderToeOut
SystemName[006]=//LeftRudderToeIn
SystemName[005]=//RightRudderToeOut
SystemName[006]=//RightRudderToeIn

It will work.......you can also have multiple versions of your controls in any install, just make a copy and rename it. When you go into the options/ controls within the game you can choose which profile ( controls) to load
I always leave a default.ini untouched as back-up and make my changes to the renamed ini's

So I finally had a chance to take up this great plane.....great job on the plane, and the cockpit.
One thing I noticed was that the CDI on the HSI seems to locked on 360deg
Has anyone else noticed this?
Otherwise I love this plane.
Congrats Centurion-1

What antivirus are you using?
-
We'll..........be sure to back up or rename your mod folder and it shouldn't be to bad,
If you re- install the same patch level and the same install location then you can probably just keep your whole mod folder intact and just drag and drop it back into its original location.......after you spend 2 hours running all the TW setup exe's
Good luck.......have fun

Avast will have taken and quarantined a few files from your install..... You needed to re-instate those files before you removed avast.
I would say you are stuck doing a re- install of SF2.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
-
The edited files need to be placed in your mod folder
-
You will need to get the cat extractor from TW it's a a free utility from their site and it allows you to access the cat files so you can make changes to many of the ini files
-
In the viewlist.ini under cockpit view make these adjustments
LimitPitch=FALSE
LimitYaw=FALSE
LimitRoll=FALSE
That should allow you more freedom of movement....5 deg anyways

I got stung the last time with avast ....... But when it screwed my SF install then I was done, to be honest it used to be a great antivirus option but it was get bigger and badder with every update ...... Do yourself a big favour and get rid of it
I am also now using MS essentials and it is really great ..... No hassles , never gets in my way, and the price is right.

Did you try moving your mod folder to a different location and start up any of the titles and let the game build a fresh mod folder?

No idea about YAP...I know it was for the first series but there might be support for the second series...?
As for the learning curve Streakeagle has a few offerings stickied on the TW forums http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB3w/viewforum.php?f=5&sid=9ab9744f9d544a1311325c63c20c6227 One is a keyboard layout which is very helpfull when getting started, and the other is a great tutorial on using radar in an F-4 which is a great place to start understanding how to use the weapons
Hope it helps

WOV and SF2v are really the same game.....the later is optimized to take advantage of newer hardware and newer operating systems (post XP) but they are the same game/sim.......SF2 looks better, runs better, and has some new features buts it's just a progression of the original series........without multiplayer
NF4 (NATO Fighters 4) is another complete re-build for WOE or NF5 for SF2 europe ......it is the same thing as what I suggested earlier for SF2v (air and ground expansion pack)......one of the great things about this sim (and this community) is that you can D/L all these rebuilds and new theatres that completely transform into new installs....Desert Storm, Korea, Falklands, Operation tainted cigar (Cuba), Scandinavian front, Formosa, etc. etc....... And many more
Did I mention anything about planes.......lots of different planes :-)

A little something to help you get into the possible depth and fun with this series....a few years back there was a thread called DID (dead is dead) the point was to play campaigns with a level of seriousness a few steps above the norm..... Have read through some of this thread http://combatace.com/topic/49956-the-double-ds/page-8 keep an eye out for posts by Lt. Cater he takes the depth of this game to a really neat level of seriousness ....... It's inspiring, and some fun reading..... In WOV
Hope you enjoy

The voice recognition is an external program called Shoot, the link below will get you everything required to get it up and running, including an updated exe to fix problems running it under win7 and 8
http://combatace.com/topic/82599-speech-recognition/
Nice to hear that you enjoyed the video.....I keep meaning to do another one which would show off a bit more of the functionality of my set-up....but I just never get around to it
Did you get around to making a decision about SF2v or WOV?
-
Welcome to Combat Ace.... As stated by Streakeagle multi player is all but done, with your stated interest In Vietnam era aviation then for sure the best choice for you would be to get SF2 Vietnam, run it for a few weeks to get the feel for this fabulous series......then go and get the expansion pack, and watch your install blossom into a truly emersive environment that will really challenge your abilities and take the hole SF2 experience to a new level.
Cheers

Have read through this http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB3w/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2343 it's a really great little piece on understanding the F-4 radar.
As for the single line text pop ups in the bottom centre of the screen....... I actually like them, they are the only HUD item I have functioning in normal mode except for a tiny red dot for my active visual target. So that text gives me a brief note on what is happening .....tells me what waypoint I'm on when I select a new waypoint, it tells me wether or not I have a visual lock and on what, and most importantly it tells me which radio calls I need to take seriously
Cheers
