TaillyHo, it's only unfair so far, that you can fire ALL the ammo they carry (500 rounds) WITHOUT doing the reload retraction. Possible drum fillings on the Lewis MG were either 47 or 97 rounds per drum. I believe, that the gliding-rail for the gun was tight enough to hold the gun in the loading-position, so you could attach a new drum with one hands, and steer with the other? Bullethead, I would go a little further and include a Nupe out of ammo would also be okay for me. But as long as they can fire, the best to do is fire from twin guns into the fragile parts. Easy - all on them is fragile! Mmuahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!

One fortunate Fee These guys hadn't noticed my approach at all. But they were most lucky blighters! After a previous fight I had not one shot left - all I got when I pulled the trigger, was that destinctive "Clinck!" And they travelled on without knowing, they had almost missed their 5 o'clock tea today. -
I would like to get a comparison of rather LOW END systems - PLEASE, no boasting with high end rigs here. - Please list the specs in the same order It's just about finding out, how much of the overall performance (Scenery slider maxed out etc.) you can get with lower system specs. I will start with my own rig here. CPU: Intel Core Duo E8300 @2.83 GHz (not overclocked) Mem: 4,00 GB GPU: ATI HD4870 (1 GB) Monitor: 1680 x 1050 Windows Vista 32 Bit OFF is running with: - Sliders on 5, 3, 2, 5, 5 - Workshop's Ground Object Densitiy: medium - 30 plus frames
-
The frequency they should have would be found on the box, or a little label on the sticks. The frequency they REALLY run with after overclocking the CPU, is shown in BIOS. I tried in my case all multiplicators to get to the 1066 MHz they should run with, but I failed. On the wrong frequency, they didn't really work well - so I went back to CPU default freq. I will get me a faster CPU, and then try it again. The best if you want to fiddle on that stuff, is to know someone who knows what he does.

Good idea, old boy (I don't mean old, but just olde)! Should I survive you, please send me an invitation with the location, date and time, and I'll be there! I'll even have my first real beer on you then, since I stopped drinking. (soberism is much overrated anyway!)

Exactly those thoughts have been on my mind too. The title is SO good, that it must be incredibly hard to top it; and: it has already got burnt into our memory. For Matt, it would of course be more interesting to make a new theme, I suppose - at least financially. But perhaps one option would be to have a selection in "Workshops" to choose the old or the new theme. Another option would be a random choice made by the sim at start. A third option would be, to keep this theme, and vary it's arrangement - but I'm afraid one would always prefer the "original". This is not morbid, Widowmaker. We all know one thing for absolutely certain: that we will sooner or later have to end the show. And why not with a music of our choice, that we love? It has all a great momentum needs. (I'd think again about the googles and gloves though - you can't seriously expect anyone to laugh about the sight of that).

PS: I just translated this touching excerpt from Wilhelm Lübbert's diary, as shown in "Flieger-Album": (Lübbert was lying in hospital wounded) Diary entry of Friedrich-Wilhelm Lübbert, 16 March 1918: "But let me see, what I have here with me today." He unbuttons his good old leather jacket (which to present you with this gift), takes off his EK1, hands it to me and says "I wish to give this on you." One of my greatest wishes had been fullfilled. I now owned (?) the EK 1 and (...) the Cross, that our greatest and famous fighter pilot himself had been wearing for years. That was something I really had not expected. Two days later, Richthofen brought me the Flugzeug- führerabzeichen [aircraft piloting badge]. This was last time I saw this great man. (...) The tragedy later: Lübbert was half Jewish and could only be saved from deportation to a concentration camp by his former comrades for a high price - General Bodenschatz, former Adjutant of von Richthofen, arranged, that Lübbert had to get sterilised. Lübbert died at the age of 73 and is buried in Hamburg.

Yes, Flieger-Album is a phantastic site with lots of good stuff! I only used Lübbert's clothes and pose though - the face in the clothes is me.
-
Well, from all I read, the CPU can easily be overclocked without wearing it off faster. The intelligent bit seems to be the right overclocking, incl. regaining the correct frequency for the memory. If INTEL bring out something to make that whole tuning easier, that would be great.
-
Yes, that's what I thought, CJ - but that would mean, that reloading is fully simulated, incl. the retracting of the gun. Which would cause some more awe for OFF in me.

Wow, that's great news, elephant! I knew the guys would help! The key commands are in a chart made by Homeboy, available in the OFF General Help Topics. I recommend to set up the "Controls" your own way ingame - press "Esc" ingame to get there. And just ask, what you need to know - everyone will help. For your Campaign, I recommend: Jasta 2, Bertincourt, September 1916, when they get the Albatros D.I You'd fly with the Elite (Boelcke, von Richthofen, Ritter von Müller etc.), and would have just the right amount of action; and many B.E.2c to train your shooting on. I wish you more free time for OFF soon.

I brew my Assam blend for 3 minutes, then pour it off the leaves, before it gets bitter. Drink it with a teaspoon of fresh cream, and a "Kluntje" (a candy rock?) Hmmmmm!!! My magical potion to make it possible to get up AND stay awake!
-
Aaaaaha! That explains it! A pity it was only a school plane. Would have made a great fighter skin with that eagle. Thanks a lot for your research and posting, elephant! Did you contact OBD meanwhile, about your OFF DvD ?
-
Well, in a conversation with Paarma he once told me, that there are of course many more interesting skins, which haven't been done due to the fact, that you can't have limitless ace skins for each OFF Jasta; and so they only used the ones who lasted a bit longer and/or had more victories. But if your hint meant to be aiming at me - yes, I intend to do this one. I only want to know before, who's craft, and which type of Albatros it really is.

New Computer, optimal way to reload HiTR for Win7 64 bit.
Olham replied to IV/JG1_Kaiser's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I always had my games on seperate HD, cause I thought, it might run a bit faster then. Sounds like a good "heads up" for Win 7 (64) then. -
Graphic Card Solutions - Crossfire or one top Card?
Olham posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Recently, I have read somewhere here, that one user wants to either get himself a top ranking new graphic card, or buy two less expensive medium range ones to share the job via Crossfire. Now, I don't know anything more about "Crossfire" than that it seems to use two cards sharing the work effectively, which should provide the user with faster graphics. I use an ATI HD 4870 (1 GB) now, and could get a second one for maybe 150,- Euro. The latest flagship from ATI costs more than 550,- Euro, I think I have read. Can anyone here say something about the pros and cons of "Crossfire", and if that works on every system? -

Okay, perhaps we go back to topic then? Arrh - what was it ... ? -
Well, nice to see you here again anyway, Tripe! There must be other threads for you.
-
Good point, Widowmaker - I'll check that! Also worth to remember: setting the Anti-Virus program on "game mode: on" After my system crash and reinstall, I had forgotten, that these settings were on "default" again, and wondered, why "OFF" was running suddenly running stuttered.

Can You Identify This WWI "Paperweight" ?
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Travel through Flanders and ask the farmers - they must have piles of such things. (But for a piece like this one, they will surely want some money). -

Bertincourt, September 1916 - Jasta 2 - Flying with Boelcke & von Richthofen -
Yes, it has become harder - but only right that way. It wasn't easy at all; otherwise the aces would have had many more kills. You're like me there - some people seem to have a mind for that, others not. It will train your reflexes. I am a slow and lazy guy, who gets tired quickly. But OFF keeps me on my toes!

Jasta 2 had another good morning. We were out under von Richthofen's lead and wiped out a flight of N 17 (Lewis). -
Oh yeah! I also have that card in mind!
