  1. Okay, thanks, Duce - bang goes another illusion. But the other bomber AI do definitely bomb their targets. Best was, when I started for a mission, and right after take-off, my own field got devastated by R.E.8 (who didn't get back home though).
  2. Maps

Wonderful service, Lou! Thanks a lot! Downloaded!
  3. More pics from MFFA 1, Mariakerke. We ran into Airco DH-2 in our recon area, and they engaged. We managed to fend them off; at least two of them went down. My observer and I had added quite some rounds to their end. The rest of the mission went successful. The difficult landing included.
  4. Ah, thanks, von Baur. I thought so, but wasn't sure.
  5. They don't carry bombs? Why the heck - I enlisted in MFFA 1, where I should do bombing raids too. Must check, if I really won't get bombs.
  6. I tested it and found, that I mostly fly much longer, than the OFF Manager would log for me. For example, my flying took 47 minutes, but I only get 32 minutes logged. I must check in future, if it does at least correspond with the given time in briefing, as you had it.
  7. Looking more like "Bratwurst" to me! (My god, we joke about things...)
  8. After flying some of my various Jasta pilots today, here are two screenshot tabloids.
  9. Maps

Well, the McMaster trench maps are not like that - you should order the map you found; it's not too expensive I think. The war maps from McMaster (originals, scanned 1:1) are more for the military man; it gave me a deep and thrilling touch, some goose skin, when I discovered trench names like "Curry Alley" or "Chutney Alley", written into the map from hand by someone, who might have fallen later. These maps bring the scenery of trench warfare closer to mind.
  10. tranquillo, make sure you click at least one option in EACH of the questions. If it still doesn't work, I don't know.
  11. Good point, vonOben - additional choice is added now. There are some beautiful environments for some airfields, and I had hoped to see more of them by screenshots. So I'm still searching for one field north or north east of Amiens. I once did some Camel testing from there - a very beautiful hilly landscape.
  12. Ah, I see - it's what I'm doing almost every day in OFF: trying to win the war!
  13. Maps

PS: Your signature line suggests, that you might be a military veteran. As such, you may be particularly interested in the WW1 maps & aerial photography of the McMaster University, Canada. Click on "Maps", then on the scale you prefer, and you'll find tons of historical trench maps there. http://library.mcmaster.ca/maps/ww1/home.htm
  14. Maps

That is a very great map you found there, nbryant, and I'm wondering if I should order it! I zoomed in and only then I saw how much detail it has! You saw those maps in the dowload section? Rabu had made a set of single maps, and RAF_Louvert "glued them together" and placed the airfield names, as far as I remember. I also did a version, but only from Lens (N) to Laon (S).
  15. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update July 17; 2010; 15:51 h Berlin summertime (= GMT + 2) BigAl56, Michigan, added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  16. I think, between 5 - 10 sorties. Some seem to get totally lost - no confirms nor rejections - burocracy. Important: never use semicolons in your report - those reports don't work. Write your wingmen names with no ranks, like: James Miller, Donald Ellis, Charles Beauford
  17. Century of shortages - what an OCD ???
  18. Sneak Peek

Well, we live in times of the world wide web, OvS - leakages everywhere! So I got hold of another video, showing some real life examination on aerodynamics and the behaviour of parachutes by OvS, Pol, Paarma and Sandbagger. Winder, Shredward and RexHannover were better off - they operated the cameras.
  19. There are some Entente skins, that do show some "extravaganzas inTechnicolour" - you must only find them. Some fine SPAD XII too.
  20. Welcome to OFF, BigAI56 Now, my first comment is nasty: a pilot, who doesn't even know his wingmen by name, is either hopelessly green, or he doesn't care about others. You should care for them, help them; try to bring them back alive - cause you need them. I use a Chinese red/black note book for my different Jasta and Squadron carreers, and note everyone there. I have one vertical row with the ace names (they may also be witnesses sometimes), and a second with "my" pilots; both with numbers before the names. For the next sortie, I just write "Fl 1: 2, 3, 5" (flight one), and "Fl. 2: 1 - 4, 6, 9 (for example). Please send me a PM with your town and country/state - I'll add you to the "OFF Forum Pilots Maps" then. Stay aloft!
  21. OFF PHASE4

perth, to bring some sense into this thread: please send me a PM with your hometown and country/state - I'll add you to the OFF Forum Pilots Maps then. thanks!
  22. Is there a Bombsite?

Crumpets! shouldn't he say "Crumpets?" (What does he mean, by the way? Were is he staring? I don't get it).
  23. Okay, thought I'd try something new, and enlisted with MFFA 1, Mariakerke, 1. Mai 1916. How comes, that I always seem to attract other fighters, and that I never get away from them? We had a fight with Airco DH-2, until I over-estimated my Roland, and crashed in a hard banked turn.
  24. Latest ATI driver was said to be faulty, I think.
