  1. DiD Killboard

Thanks a lot, Siggi and Lothar! It would be great if you could deal with the board for the time Siggi's absent, Lothar. All the best for your family, Siggi!
  2. Guys, I will be off for Ostfriesland tomorrow morning. Two Olham-free weeks for you all! Enjoy the time and make the best of it! See ya in 14 days!
  3. Hihi, I could laugh buckets full about myself! Around 18 h, I had enlisted a new pilot with Jasta 17, to fly a new skin. And I had already gone through the briefing, and sat in my Albatros D Va ready for go, when I realised I was hungry. So I paused the sim, and started to make me spaghetti with fried aubergines and Mozzarella. Whilst I prepared these, my neighbouress rang to say thank you for a favour I had done her. She found it smelled very good, and I invited her to eat with me. She had made a salad, and so we ate all this, and had a nice chat. After a long time, I came back to my screen and saw: "Oh, the mission is still waiting!" I released "pause", started the engine, rolled along the field and took off. Made the usual look over my shoulder, before I would check the map and compass. And what the heck - we are under attack! Dark bulky shadows rushing over the field, one of our craft is on fire! SPAD XIII !!! For a milisecond I thought "What a wonderful idea from the devs, to build in such a surprise attack! Man, what a shock!" But then I remembered: it was a "scramble" - I had only forgotten! Hihihi!!!
  4. Olham on leave

Thanks, Widowmaker, and be relaxed - I move to the home front only. I had actually expected a complaint by you, about my effrontery placing Ostfriesland right over Yorkshire. Yes, please, keep the guys entertained! See you in 2 weeks!
  5. Olham on leave

Thank you all! Rabu, Ostfriesland is the home of the brave Ostfriesen, our people lived independant from Kings and Lords until Friederich der Große added it to Prussia. Shredward, I don't have to go far for a Luftschiffhafen. Hage ( C ), the place of my birth, is only 4 km from my hometown ( A ). In Hage there was a Luftschiffhafen for 4 "Zeppelins" in WW1. On the island of Norderney was a Seeflieger base in the Great War ( B ). Unfortunately, there is nothing left of all that, except a concrete ramp on the island. See you all in 2 weeks! Olham
  6. Hihi! Yes, it does - I'll have to go to the dentist soon, and I'd rather do a real life combat flight. "Denkste!" is a low German slang for "Das denkst Du Dir!" - translated somehow as: "You thought you would !..."or "You only thought you could!"
  7. Can't say, when it happened, but when I do a Google Picture Search, I don't get the pictures shown anymore. I still get a page with the sublines for lots of pics, but above them are empty frames, and the browser says "loading" all the time. But he never gets ready. Does anyone know, what could be the problem?
  8. Thank you, von Paulus - but none of them did it.
  9. Der Ostwind

Thanks for posting it again, Rabu. Some time ago, I searched for it - without remembering the title, nor who had posted it. And without success. It's a great little story.
  10. Feels so good to know I'm not alone!
  11. I have cleared all space, there are no "cookies" in their folder. Still no pics.
  12. rabu: BTW, Olham, I've always been amazed how good your English is, are you German born? Yupp, half Ostfriese, half Berlinner - born in Ostfriesland, which is the north-west corner of Germany. My (female) English teacher would have liked to read the above. She was really good. Thank you, Widowmaker and Burning Beard - I'll clear up.
  13. This is quite interesting, Rabu. I was wondering why the heck they didn't make the movie "Der Rote Baron" into something REALLY historical - or drop the title and make a film about some other Jasta. They have done so many good details, that it aches to see, what is still wrong. I believe, these film people just don't know anyone better to ask, and so they come up with what the second best people gathered.
  14. Testing my new Jasta 17 skin with my Albatros D Va, we had a "scramble". I could shoot up two SPADs, but then someone crashed into my bird. Dead!
  15. I use Mozilla Firefox, and it does updates now and then. Here is how my search result looks, when the search is done:
  16. Had the same problem, but only with some threads; like "Screenshots". Thanks for the info.
  17. Write to Herr Prop-Wasche - he made a backup program for just this case. And check the downloads section for it. Here it is: http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/10890-offuserbackupfiles-program/
  18. OT: Dio is Dead.

PS: here is the man - "Rainbow in the Dark" (...could get used to it!) ...and with Deep Purple & Symphony Orchestra http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
  19. OT: Dio is Dead.

I'm not a heavy rock fan, but I know how it feels, when one of your great musiscians goes. It struck me quite a bit, when Richard Wright from the Pink Floyd died. And yes, that sounds would fit better in hell - the angels above might not like the noise. Rest in peace, Ronnie.
  20. Warp Question

    Alright, thanks for that, Unc.
  21. Yeah, I know, von Paulus, but back in those days she was still a he named Walter. Life is confusing enough without people changing their gender, me thinks. But I hope s-he is happy now.
  22. The only amusing bit...

With Mr. Bean, the Nazis might have won the war - the enemy would have died laughing.
  23. Well, there are so many good scores, it would be hard for me to decide on one. I liked Mark Isham's music for "L.A. Crash" and Hans Zimmer's music for "Gladiator" a lot, also Klaus Doldinger's main title for "Das Boot"; and older scores like Ennio Morricone's "Once upon a time in the west", Walter Carlos' interpretation of Purcell's funeral march for Queen Mary in "Clockwork Orange", or the music for "Exodus". No way to decide for one to be the best.
  24. Warp Question

You can deminish the radar circle by pressing Ctrl. + Shift + T Do that repeatedly to switch through the various distances it offers. No idea, if the distance-to-enemy will shrink too by doing this.
  25. I'm just reading an old book from 1939: "Malaula! Der Kampfruf meiner Staffel" by Julius Buckler, Jasta 17. Never saw a newer release of this book in German, but now I found it in AMAZON in English. Norman Franks seems to do a lot on that field; he even publishes German books, we don't get here at all. http://www.amazon.co...a/dp/1904943802
