  1. File Name: Albatros D III early - Jasta 26 File Submitter: Olham File Submitted: 25 Apr 2010 File Category: Aircraft Skins All my recent skins were made as an addition to the numerous and great OFF creations. They are based on and use parts of the skins made by James 'OvS' Romano and Paarma. While the OFF skinners have decided to present more weathered skins, like after weeks of use in the field; I wanted to also have some skins of brand new delivered and freshly painted aircraft. Hope you like them. (If the emblem you see in the screenshot is missing, it was removed, so you can add your own). To get them into OFF, you unzip the file to: (your game folder) > campaigns > CampaignData > skins Click here to download this file

  9. Yep, as Herr Prop-Wasche said. The backups have the ending "Backup" at the end of the file. So you have to erase the failing one, and then change the name of the backup file into the normal file name. Before that, you should copy it, so you have a backup again, for later failures.
  10. FM Tweaking Tutorial--anyone interested?

PS: ...and be prepared, that all your work might be for a short period of time - the devs may have changed a lot to the better with P4?
  11. FM Tweaking Tutorial--anyone interested?

Thank you for investigating, Herr Prop-Wasche. Of course, it would be phantastic, if you could find a way to eliminate wrong performance data without mixing up the whole FM balance. So I wish you success; and I would even test a varied FM for the Albatros. But it must be done with a lot of care. I would backup the whole sim and the C-partition, so it could be restored. The devs have said, that some data, which seem wrong at first look, may have been set that way to achieve an overall behaviour of all craft, mainly that of the AI aircraft. So, if you tweak and test some changes, make sure you watch the AI aircraft of that type; how they behave and perform, and if they are getting better or worse. Some craft in OFF seem to be a bit better (Tripe) or easier to handle (Camel) than they really were. Others are lacking a bit of performance (Albatros, Dr.1). If you find a way to balance that out, it would be great. How much time do you have to invest (I'm afraid it might take very long). I do not believe, it is an easy undertaking; otherwise the team surely would have done it already. So take care, HPW - and when you have a tweak to test on the Albatros; I will have more time next weekend.
  12. OT Funny kite story

Congrats, Creaghorn! Yeah, Catch, that will be the hard time - when he has to let her go one day with a bloke, who isn't half as good as him, and as he would have expected her to bring home.
  13. Catch: Luxury ! I once went without food for 12 months and drank my own urine to afford trackir and pedals Huh! You know what I did? I did - ahm - - - No, I can't compete against that!
  14. OT Funny kite story

OvS: She hasn't heard the last from Baron von Fart!!! I'm going to take that Geko down!!! Hihihi! No, you won't, OvS! One smile of her will shoot you down in flames! Mmuahahahahaaa!!!! Ahhh - I envy you, man!
  15. Hihi - nice to see you, Gous!
  16. Dreaming about OFF

Only shows, you're flying the sim with full realism, even mindwise, Mike. And that concentration, to get it all done right and get back home over the line, is a form of "pleasant stress" you have, cause you don't want it arcadeish; you want to get challenged. That we dream about such concentrated stressful phases is not insane, but rather totally normal. It would become insane, if you would have nightmares about it - but I don't see that happening in your case. And I have also dreamt some time ago, I was flying with Ernst Udet, Jasta 15 in May or June 1917. No fighting, just flying in the sun. Udet talked to me, which is of course impossible, but in dreams, hey! He asked me if it wasn't wonderful to fly around in the sun in Winder's beautiful landscapes. I replied: "Yes, if we wouldn't have to fear to get jumped at all the time - we are only two!" Udet smiled and said with grinning eyes: "I have switched it from "Dogfight" to "Free flight" !" Now, that meay be closer to insanity...
  17. You couldn't do anything wrong, if there was a tax of even 20% - the sim is sure worth that and more. Never has any computer game or simulation given me SO MUCH MORE back than all invested money. Although I had a strained budget at the time, I even saved money for getting me TrackIR to make a wonderful experience complete. If you are interested in WW1 air combat and all around that, you should definitely get it!
  18. You could also import them into a program like Photoshop or Paint, and cut the top and bottom off, to get a "Cinemascope" kind of screenshot.
  19. OT Funny kite story

What do you expect, OvS - she's YOUR daughter! Mmuahahahahahahaaaa!!!! A nice story - saw it all happening right before my eyes; thanks for sharing, OvS. Another kite story: Udet and some comrades had once built a kite from some stuff, a really big one, and they asked a little French girl, if she wanted to fly. Not sure if they understood the answer - they grabbed the kid and attached her to the kite and they really got it airborne with her hanging underneath. Then the mother with a figure like 24 cannon battle ship came and screamed at the men, for what they were doing there with her little one. All men ran away except for the guy, who held the rope. The lady cried and screamed and beat him again and again, but he wouldn't let the rope go, until the little girl was safely back on her feet. The girl and her mother must have always remembered that for the rest of their lives - and I often wonder, with what feelings about these German pilots did they remember it?
  20. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Thanks, Duce - perhaps they give me a sign; then I'll add them.
  21. Volodnikov, it's a great shot - and it would be even greater, if you had waited, until the blinking SIMULATION PAUSED had been "off".
  22. Well - the title says it all - enjoy this modell on their website; there are many more pics! http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/customermodels
  23. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 04/21/10 08:28 Berlin summertime (= GMT + 2) jsalbano, Colorado, added. Colorado can play ping pong now! All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  24. Windows 7

Click on "Workshop" from the start screen; click on "Graphic settings" there; click on "file"; click on "Change display options"; choose your resolution. (This may sometime slip back, so at next start, it could be set wrong again. Best to check it after every new start of the sim). Also make sure after that, that the FOV (field of view) relationship is right. Here, the length to width relationship of your screen can be translated into FOV numbers. The larger the numbers (I think?), the wider is your FOV, and the smaller do aircraft appear. Set it to your likes.
  25. Well, to be precise, the D Va skin is done by Paarma or OvS, and me. I would have had a lot of extra trouble, if I had had to find out the red outline on the tail myself. The addition of a personal emblem is exactly, what everyone could do to the uploaded skins - looks great. This one isn't there yet. I'll upload some, when my "hard work phase" will be over; in about two weeks. Great you can enjoy the sim and skins again now, Barkhorn!
