  1. It's here! Just finished it up today. :D

Here's the readme (And please actually read it):

    **FS-WWI Plane Pack 3 Patch**

This is a small Patch to fix some issues in FS-WWI Plane Pack 3. While not all the issues were fixed, a majority of them were. Also, a new aircraft was added, the Albatros B.II. It is far enough in the completion stage to be added to Plane Pack 3. Expect another patch in the future addressing some more bugs and model tweaks.

To Install: Extract to your main Fighter Squadron folder. When you are done, please add the following line to your keyboard.inp file (Located where you installed the latest Wings with Wires Patch) under the section 'Other flight controls':

    cmdSetBrakes = Bounce B

The above line is for the brake stick on the Albatros B.II. To edit the Keyboard.inp file, open it up in Wordpad and re-save (Be sure however that you DON'T re-save it as a word document!!)

    Add-ons that are required/not required:

You MUST have the FS-WWI Plane Pack 3 installed

You MUST have FS-WWI Nations installed.

You MUST have the Full Somme Terrain installed.

You MUST have the official Parsoft 1.5 patch installed.

You MUST have the latest Wings with Wires Patch installed.

    How to uninstall:

A file called 'Uninstall FSWWI PP3 Patch.exe' gets placed in your Fighter Squadron folder when you install the FS-WWI Plane Pack 3 Patch. To uninstall, simply double-click this file and follow the instructions.

The following is the list of fixes:

-Fixed Sopwith Pup 'Final Fury' mission

  3. Hehe yeah we've got a carrier. It's the HMS Furious. Mr.Blob did the model a while back and 3dp did the new paint scheme. It's fun to take Sopwith Pups off of! :D

That is the link to the old Fighter Squadron WWI Page ran by Sv. The OpenPlane Demo featured at the bottom of the website is very very very old. We don't even use that model for the Fokker Dr.1a anymore, LoL!

I believe SDOE can be found at chips and bits.

  4. Hello guys! I sent off an e-mail to the folks at Aspect Simulations yesterday and have already gotten a lovely e-mail back from them! :D Neal Hall, the Vice President/Lead Engineer of Aspect Simulations responded. Here is what I wrote and his response follows:

"Hello, I am an interested party in your new simulation 'Knights Over

Europe'. Being a WWI sim flyer and active sim community memeber, aswell as the project leader of a World War One add-on to an existing simulation (http://argonv.tripod.com/FSWWI_Page/readme.htm) it brings me great joy to read of such news that a WW1 sim is underway by your company. Thus, I ask that some sort of community forum be set up for interested parties of your simulation. It would give the simming community a chance to share ideas, thoughts, insights and opinions with other memebers with the same interest in WWI simming about your new simulation, and may even provide some feedback and insight for your developement team(s).

    Thank you,

    Jason R. (Aka ArgonV)"

    Mr. Hall responds:

    "Hi Jason,

Thanks for your interest in Knights Over Europe. As I've said to some

others, we're flightsim fans just like you guys and I think we have a lot of

common opinions about what makes a good flightsim. I've been following some

of the forum threads regarding our announcement and we will be releasing

more information on the product soon. I would like to address some concerns

I've read by saying that we are still in the early stages of development on

this title and there are many details that need tweaking. What you are

seeing at this point is by no means a finished product and we will be paying

close attention to the feedback we receive from the community.

We are still in the early stages of getting our preliminary website up and

running but we do plan to host an online forum for discussion and feedback

regarding Knights Over Europe. Stay tuned!

    Thanks,

    Neal Hall

    Great news guys!!! :)

  5. Hiya!

As some of you may know, or not know, I am the current project leader for a mod called FS-WWI (Fighter Squadron-World War I) This mod was started many years ago by Fighter Squadron simmers Sv, Nuum, Pang, Ernst Voss, Ronin and a few others. Since their break off to form their own company, www.wingswithwires.com and make their WWI dreams come true, I gladly stepped up (After of course participating and adding my own contributions) to the task of making FS-WWI what I and other FS-WWI players invisioned it to be. At current, we are close to that goal! Thus I welcome you try try out our mod, at current we think it's the most promising and best WWI mod out there, and even beats full WWI games in some aspects. No doubt however, our mod will come to an end when great WWI titles are produced. But at present, its the best WWI action money can buy. Check the link in my sig for details. :)

  6. Yes I do. They were the former heads of FS-WWI (A WWI mod for Fighter Squadron) I've known them for years. A nice group of programmers and WWI sim fans who know the OpenPlane engine like the back of their hand. They are working on their own terms, in their spare time.

Their current project is to get up and going a working on-line game called "Dawn of Fighters" and expand on to that to finally come up with "Birds of Prey".

  7. Man that's the truth... I'm counting on Dawn of Aces 3, Wings with Wires: Birds of Prey, IL-2 FB: WWI, and of course I've got a WWI sim mod going for Fighter Squadron... Red Baron 3d has great mods and campaigns, but its showing its age. (I still fly her however) There are also a few arcade WWI flight games out. But man, I need some new WWI hard-core action! :D

  8. I've already e-mailed the producer thanking him and asking if we can get some sort of community forum set up for their title to allow us WWI simmers to share our views, hopes, wishes and insight about this new WWI sim title. Ive also spread the news about this title across the web and Ive mailed SimHQ news and sim-news about it. I was about to e-mail you guys but you saw the post first. :)

  9. This comes from: Worthplaying

"Aspect Simulations announces the development of their World War I combat flight simulation, KNIGHTS OVER EUROPE. Brought to you by a team whose collective experience includes Red Baron II, the Falcon 3 series, the Close Combat series and Fly II, KNIGHTS OVER EUROPE brings the dawn of aerial combat up-to-date with leading edge graphics, high fidelity flight models and precision damage modeling. Dozens of highly detailed aircraft with historically accurate markings will set the stage for an experience that will attract both hard-core flightsim fans and novices alike. Read more for details and screens

Take to the skies in any one of over a dozen painstakingly detailed aircraft. With leading-edge graphics, high-fidelity flight models, in-your-face action, realistic tactics and endless depth of play, you won't be left wanting. Whether rushing toward the earth on an attack run, weaving through the sky during a dogfight, or ducking between the clouds on a reconnaissance mission, you'll have to continually remind yourself that you're fighting from the safety of your own home.

    Features :

    Ultra-realistic Flight Models

    Dozens of Flyable Aircraft

    Cutting-edge Damage Modeling

    High_Resolution Terrain

    Advanced 3D Graphics Engine

Take pleasure in slicing away at your enemy in a classic dogfight or blowing your opponent to bits in a full-throttle zoom attack. Either way you'll never cripple an enemy the same way twice. Thrill as you watch individually tracked bullets punch precise holes into your prey. Savor the pain of your enemy as holes develop into tears handicapping their aircraft. Relish the moment of victory as you continue to hammer them; splaying chunks of wood and fabric into the air, as their airplane disintegrates around them or bursts into flames. But beware of flying debris, lest you fall victim to your own handy work!

If you've been longing for a truly thrilling air combat experience, then you've been waiting for "Knights Over Europe". Take a break from the complex cockpits of today and do some serious stick and rudder work in the deadly skies of World War I."
