Here is a Drone Controller.........DF-8F Crusader in formation with QF-104A drones.Thats someone else GREAT skin.....(I fixed the fuselage color). That is the Thermal-Electric( Nuc after 1970)Plant target below. OK....here,s a question.....any way on single missions in the game to get only ONE recon plane launched instead of 2?? Is there a ini tweek somewhere? Flight folder??

About a quarter of the drones will come without the LOD files (cockpit and aircraft).......the Hellcat being one, the B-17 drone (A-team model) and there are a few drone contollers also (one being my T-28B with the Utility Skin). These LODs will need to be obtained through the proper channels of course. I will be releasing the drones and drone controllers individually once the new range package is released .Each drone or plane will have its own background and installation readme with LOD requirements and credits of course. I have to write the credits read-me yet for the terrain file...which will be a huge undertaking....This is my first dive into such a big project so I appreciate all the help and info I have been getting...... I expect to have to revise the package here and there but plan to support it the best I can. OH....the drone controllers are more or less eye candy. They are NEUTRAL nation planes you can fly for fun and they have their own parking areas amongst the drones.There is a separate section of the airfield for them with its own runway and facilities.
I'll have to check into that missile for the Regulus stand in. So far I have 2 Firebees,a Mach 3 Bomarc and a Hounddog and FCargo's Tacit Rainbow made into target drones. They make GREAT targets......small but fast. Each has its own countermeasures and they use them well. As for how I did it? Each one thinks its a Firebee but I made tweeks to the data to get the performance/systems I wanted. So far so good. The Tacit Rainbow was a challenge.....the wing unfold animation had to be accounted for......but we got it. I did the ALCM earlier but the animation was off......tail unfolded and then re-folded...wings were fine.....a bug?? I put that one aside.
So far....6 months of work in my " computer man cave" putting this together.......he he.....wife is really getting erked!!

I have the QF-100D already in the package.......same camo skin.I gave it fake guns so that it dogfights like a real fighter but is harmless. As for the F6F Hellcat drone...take a look.... The skin was a B_tch.........putting orange over dark blue was not easy. With 26 drones to finish (I'm on my last one now)....I had to skip the "make a new blank template" method and just wing it. I think it turned out ok. Sure is tough to hit with a sidewinder.....not enough heat.........makes a good challenge. I have the Hellcat on the range from 1950-1956. Its the only prop drone fighter in the package. I do have a QB-17L Flying Fortress for target practice however. I really would like to get a Regulus missile or a Snark in the drone set........something other than planes. I have a few missile drone oddballs thrown in. Hopefully others will contribute as time goes on.......Champ

I have an SF2 project soon to be posted. It will consist of over 25 target drones for the user to practice on over a revamped target range. The drones cover a good chunk of the US inventory from the 1950's to the near future (yes...there is a QF-16). All the drones are flyable........YES FLYABLE. Some are easy kills (the QF-9J Cougar) and others are a real pain (the QF-4S). WHAT I NEED IS DONATIONS!! Not money......MODELS!! If you have made a target vehicle or other full conversion drone that you would like to share with the community......consider including it in the package. Only freeware please. Only realistic stuff considered...... a QFJ-65X SuperStreaker target drone with warp speed and a cloaking device is not what I need......ha ha!! Full credit will be given to any donor when package is released (of course). Here is a screenie preview of one conversion drone(China Lake QF-86F) and a Drone Control Aircraft (the F9F-5K Panther of VU-1)..........THANKS....CHAMP VA56

I tried to PM it but the darn file is to big to upload!! I may need you to PM me an E-mail address to send it that way. The terrain is still called "Range" because changing the name screwed up the terrain tiles or something. This is a pretty EXTENSIVE re-work and I"m only half finished with the new Drone aircraft There will be 15 total when done. I will send what is finished so you can play with them.....blow them out of the sky!!!. Also will send over the F-4N for the Missions I made.......attacking the Firebee and the "Super Firebee"....he he!! Let me know what you think. Some arrre not easy to take down...they have countermeasures and use them well . During install you may want to hide your files so as to not OVERWRITE anything. I have the CAT Pointer set to SF2V "VIETNAMSEA" since thats what I have been using.....I have the full SF2V GOLD expansion pack installed also.
WHAT I REALLY NEED HELP WITH: I tried in VAIN to get some ARMED_RECON and CAS routes working with the Movement ini. I made 2 "Clone" ground objects with the "Range" nation in the userlist. They are the QT-34_85 tank for CAS and the Q_Zil-157_ZPU-1 truck for ARMED_RECON Missions. Both have had their guns "neutered" so they don't fire. I would like to have these used exclusively on the range for "moving targets" and have set up numerous checkpoints with marker shacks to compile the routes. SOMEWHERE I'm not getting something right so I'm asking for help!! HELP!!

Ok...here's my question of the week. I made some new damage textures (TGA's) for the F-102. One for each skin panel using the correct name and called out the "_holes" in the ini file. But only the fuselage damage decal shows up. Is there a specific call-out in the data ini for damage to appear on the plane parts or is it in the LOD files?? Champ

OK.....let me put a package together.......I will have to make a few tweeks to not overwrite your files (re-name the range inis etc.) Give me a day or so... ANY INPUT on ANYTHING would be most appreciated. I hope to post this before X-mas.......CHAMP

OK....here's my question for the week.................say you took a cool plane/model which has no landing gear..........let's say perhaps the Firebee Drone. An you gave it a cockpit(and guns,and missiles or cameras,etc)and now can fly it all over the place......BUT......no gear!! You can give it the imaginary gear of another aircraft (data ini cut/paste...he he!) but still.......goes KABOOM when you land it..............:rolleyes:Anyone have any little "tricks" up your sleeve for this one??

Well....I tried everything (Userlists for vehicles), HUD plotted routes ,etc and still NO CAS or ARMED RECON on JSF's SF2 range................Game just freezes if you select one of these mission types. Must be some other glitch somewhere....so the heck with it!!! Static convoy targets is what I'm sticking with.

AH HA!! TRANSPORT....................good catch. SO what is the magic word for GROUND_ATTACK routes...................TANK?? If I make only one Range nation (userlist) TRANSPORT and only one Range nation (userlist) TANK, will the game just use those exclusively:idea: (intended)?? Thanks...CHAMP

When it refers to TRUCK routes.....does that mean any random truck,tank etc that matches the enemy nations list and userlist of the ground object? In this case I would need a ground object (like a T-34 tank) to ID'd as a "RANGE" nation to be available for selection? Does it pick at random or is there a method the game uses? Probably is yours!! Came with the SF2 Range download........I'm ASSUMING (??) it does not function in the SF2 Range since nothing is moving....YET. If there is a updated version....I would love to see how it works. This is my first "stumble" into terrain stuff....thats why I'm asking LOTS of questions...........THANKS FOR THE REPLYS!!! I hope to start a discussion about the important odds and ends about setting up these routes. Here is the MOVEMENT ini from the SF2 Range (which has no Armed Recon or CAS missions due to lack of moving targets). Could someone( Terrain Wizards) cast some light on this area.

How can one change the number of AI aircraft launched on a mission? My AI controlled airbase will launch 10+ aircraft on a SWEEP mission and only 2 on a RECON. How could I change it to 4 and 1 respectively?

Putting together a new QB-47E target drone. I made the J47's the type with water injection(-25A).....added about 20 percent thrust. Now I can rotate at the VERY,VERY end and just get airborne before I mow the cactus. That's with TO FLAPS(20)........with LANDING FLAPS (50) she does much better.........3/4 runway....Champ

Can it be removed or modified? I don't want pilots ejecting from "PILOTLESS" drone aircraft......

Well....I need it for the Single Missions created by the game. I have been trying to find the ini line in the MissionControl ini and other entries. Since 2 planes are always launched on a recon mission...it must not be random and it must be somewhere!! Its not a big deal....I can live without it. The drone controllers only fly recon missions...thats why I'm asking. One would be better(more realistic).
