  1. Its out of stock for the US distributor :(
  2. Thanks guys! I ordered: Fighting the flying circus Heaven High, Hell Deep Wings of War Flying Fury Aces Falling Winged Victory And A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity These should keep me busy for a while an then I will look into the other ones posted here!
  3. Let me start with a disclaimer stating that, war if horrific and not a romantic notion. With that said, if you had the option when you were 17 years old to go back in time to 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918, would you? I ask because when I was 17 (Im 33 now) I had no desire to serve. There was no appeal for me, I had friends left and right that wanted to be Navy Seals, Delta Force, badass rambos etc. I tested for ranger qualification with the recruiter and he was trying to get me to sign up for a six year tender, but in the end, it just did not appeal to me. I have tremendous respect for the men and women that serve, but the modern military just is not for me. Yes the weapons, tactics and everything are awe inspiring, but nothing has ever captivated my attention like the great war aviators. I'm playing a campaign in RFC 56 right now and it gives me goosebumps to fly next to Cecil Lewis, even if it is just a simulation! So I ask, if given the chance would you go back in time and fight as an aviator in the great war? If so, what side and squadron would you pick? And please don't argue or base things on modern politics or on what we know what later became of Germany and the like. Would you jump in a time machine at the age of 17, before you had kids, a wife, career or any other attachements? Maybe the question would be simpler if I stated would you choose to live your life during that time period then the one you live in now, so this way you would not be leaving family, etc behind, you would just live then instead of now.....would you do it? I only ask because I made a time machine that really works
  4. If you could go back in time, would you?

Thanks for sharing Louvert! All my life I have had bouts of Dejavu. Its happens every couple of years where I will have an overwhelming sense of it. It was not until my 20s that I identified that my Dejavu comes from dreams. I have had situations and such that occured in a dream actually happen many years down the road. Its pretty freaky, but it definantly happens to me. Minute things such as signs, colour and type of lamps, name badges, velvet lining on curtains, etc that were in a dream, I would find myself staring at sometimes ten years later, while the whole scene played out exactly as I had dreamed it years ago. No explanation for it, just freaky really. Im saying if you had the chance to fly man! Obviously, nobody in their right mind would wanna be infantry in the trenches!
  5. Always in the search for greater immersion with my OFF and inspired by the creative bastards on this forum, I decided to rip the bezels off of my three dell 2007fps and mount them to a big triple mount stand! The result is spectacular! Who would of thought triple screening could get better! Here is a After Shot Here is a before shot After shot The amount of bezel space saved! Heres the monitor sitting in his house after I removed the bezel front
  6. Hey Typhoon, seen that before and it is a joke. Its resolution is only 2880x900 (mine is 4800x1200) and it costs over $8,000 US (my monitors cost $125 US each).
  7. I come from a family of five kids, we weren't sold as slaves, we were used as slaves The base of the triple mount only takes up the footprint of one screen, the other two hover, so those with limited desk real estate I suggest the triple mounts! But the triple mount is pricey, mine cost $300 which is almost what my monitors cost, but I can use this mount forever so it will pay for itself in the end. I work out of home on the computer and I need three screens for all my work apps, its just an added benefit that I can use it for OFF So the only way I can see subverting SWAMBO is to justify it as a business cost! OH and what I am really waiting for is PLP setups to be supported so I can rotate my two 20's to the side and put my 30" in the middle (remove its bezels too of course) and then have the full chabang!
  8. Its called pick your poison. I tried that, but I did not like the staggered depths of the screens, but if you can tolerate that then you have a bezel gap of less than 1/2 inch! Im pleased with this, this will hold me over until we get real bezeless displays. Remember on a single monitor you have nothing on the other side of those bezels! Heres another shot
  9. Um, no. You can see in the shot how much bezel space was removed and per my bezel management program I have shaved 200 virtual black resolution spaces off my tally. Also, the newer Samsung Thin Bezel monitors cost you $1,800 for three and I built these for just over $400. As an added benefit, I no longer have to stare at "Dell," three times in my face. Trust me Unleal, if you played on my system I would have to beat you with a club to make you leave it, lol.
  10. She's so good to me!

CJ for what you and your wife have had to endure Id say your both eligible for sainthood, but in this case, high end hardware to enjoy more OFF immersion might be a better reward for you! You deserve it!
  11. OT Anyone with a little Brother will relate

LOL out this follow up video
  12. Multiple monitors

SoftTH http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/ Be wary young skywalker for ye bout to tread down a path of no return, to which swambo be damned!
  13. Yes Morris a torrent link please!
  14. To eyefinity and beyond

You mean like 120" with a lazyboy to sit in? Bah I still prefer triple screening with the eyefinity! Cant wait til more of you guys topple swambo and get some of these setups!
  15. To eyefinity and beyond

Hey Morris, what monitors, resolution and settings are you playing on? What frame rates are you getting as well? What is your 5970 overclocked to? Have you been able to get crossfire working? Just curious as to your final tally with it as I am happily eyefinitiying myself too!
  16. OT-Wings of Prey

I know its off topic, but I prefer the feedback of OFF members versus those other forum places! Anybody else pick up a copy of Wings of Prey. It is no secret that I am an eyecandy whore and this puppy delivers the goods in spades! I have a copy (Birds of Prey) on the xbox 360, which I played the hell out of, but I hated the xbox flightsticks, display resolution and lack of track ir support. Now I got this baby going triple screen eyefinity 4800x1200 with track ir and my g940 setup and it is fantastic! There are no dedicated servers but I have had allot of fun with the multi-player and have had plenty of lag free matches. The only problem is it is WW2 and I prefer WWI dogfighting Oh yea, and I'm in before its not a "true simulator," and in before its not "historically accurate," and in before, "you don't play russian flight simulators, russian flight simulators play you!" HAHAHA!
  17. OT-Wings of Prey

Here is some triple screen eyefinity goodness, Its not the prettiest map the game has and I took the pictures with my nokia N85 cell phone, but you get the idea!
  18. OT-Wings of Prey

I dont understand how you can say the maps are tiny? They are huge and you never run out of real estate when dogfighting. Plus you have many many different maps which offer different visuals. Yea OFF has a huge map, but it is largely repetitive and you really cant take advantage of all that real estate anyway given the running out of fuel and all.
  19. OT-Wings of Prey

This is exactly what I am saying, its fantastic and if OFF was able to look like this game then I would be severely done for.... Please do not make OFF look like this game cause my career depends upon it, lol.
  20. I just found somthing amazing

Oh Gawd there goes my childhood right there!!! Do I or don't I that is the question or should some things be left to the past?
  21. That "other WW1 flight sim"

You have not played the product, thus you have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry, but that is just plain ignorant. I was on the fence, and had read all the negative stuff, even regretted the purchase as it was downloanding, then I was very happy to realize that it was an excellent game to experience. Don't talk until you try otherwise you may end up eating the wrong end of a goat!
  22. That "other WW1 flight sim"

You do realize that you sound like the guy that refused to switch over to the automobile and stay with yer ol trusty buggy and whip! And yes you really should upgrade from those candles and use electricity, yea I know the light is not as calming but from a strict safety stand point you should really go with electricity over candle light. And also, plumbing, you should really let the outhouse go and modernize your home with a sewage link, while its true that you will have to pay for the service it just really is more sanitary so you should really go with that! On a serious standpoint, ROF is not worth upgrading your rig over, that is an unfair pressure for any game. Your rig is worth upgrading for, ROF, WOP, (SOW in two weeks ) and eyefinity which is simply amazing!
  23. That "other WW1 flight sim"

I can understand and respect the decision to pass based on the Draconian DRM, but for only $20 I wont listen to the complainers saying that ROF is not complete because that is a bargain price for what you do in fact get. I seem to be playing devils advocate here, when I do in fact prefer OFF. However, we could compose a huge list of everything that is missing from OFF and I DO MEAN A HUGE LIST, but why bother? As it is OFF is excellent and only getting better by the day. But OFF has been in development for what, five years now, whereas ROF has only been out for six months. While the threat of competition may not be a driving force for the OFF developers because they "Do it for the love," and not the money, the fact is I really like their style and wish to see them proceed with a better game engine based on their ever growing user base and maybe one day they can do it for the money and retire in paradise while we get to relive WWI fantasies. And yes I love seeing those valve lifters work, at first I thought my graphics drivers were buggy and then I took a closer look (thank you track ir) and was pleasantly surprised. I love seeing the recoil, I love seeing the bullets feed into the guns, I love seeing the spent shells falling to earth, I love seeing the dead enemy slumped in their cockpit on flames, I fawking love the detail and want more, I WANNA SMELL THE LEATHER AND CORDITE MAN! Who doesn't want more eyecandy? Why must eyecandy be sacraficed for depth? Why can't we have it all? First developer to do that gets more of my green!
  24. That "other WW1 flight sim"

People never cease to amaze me how narrow minded they can be. I stated earlier that a video game forum for a specific game is not the place to discuss another game, especially if the other game is a competing product because you get all kinds of narrow minded crap. The fact of the matter is ROF kills OFF graphically (my God man I can see the valve lifters working and glistening in the dynamic sun light!), the replay feature of ROF is fantastic and ROF also seems to be much more realistic in terms of actual battle and the immersive feeling of "being there." However, I enjoy both games for what they are and I do not dwell on what they are not because in the 30 plus years that I have been playing video games I have yet to find the perfect game. The existance of ROF only encourages OFF to become better and more complete and vice versa. To wish or obsess over the ruin of another companies product is the stupidest thing one can do, unless you compete against that company. But if you are just a lowly consumer than you should never hope for only one cat in the game as that breeds laziness and a subpar product.
  25. That "other WW1 flight sim"

I completely agree with BOB on this one ROF is a good game and worth $20 bucks. Yea its not a complete game and does not have all of the options of a "full," game but a "full," game would cost $50. OFF is amazing, in fact it is my favorite game of all time, but I would not go so far as to call it perfect, complete or the end all be all. I would love, love, love to see OFF have its own custom engine and offer better support for crossfire, sli and eyefinity for high end gaming. Until then, I will support both developers until I get the simulation I want.
