    Well, here we are......this is not a model built by me, only i found on the net, but was my first attempt to deal with 3ds.....two days ago, i decided to rescue it from my hard disk, and i am very proud to be capable of put it in game (First Plane!!! Ouya! :hyper:) .....as you can see, is a very early model (Ugly shadows..)....it can not landing or take off...(collision points i think)...but my intention is to improve the Mig-21 model (this is a MF, and a very good base for others)....adding other meshes, animations, bump maps, parachute, and other stuff, like tweaking materials.....etc etc....

     

    i´m a profane mounting the inis, but using and tweaking a little the standards i realize that there are things that works fine :ohmy:! even so, are things that blow my mind! 

     

    So i decided, rework the model, well done for easy and quality skinning (my "actual skill"), step by step and without hurries....as i said, its a very early project.....probably, will come the day in which i will ask you for help...

    @NebirosModdingTeam: De nada hombre! Como te digo esto de los motes, deporte nacional....

     

    Jjaja es verdad lobo!! Tuve la ocasión (Por desgracia, pues siempre da pena ver el monte arder) de ver un "botijo" en acción de muy muy cerca y la verdad es que acojona verlo casi rozar las copas de los pinos!! :shok:

    A ver....no se si es por costumbre o porque lo de poner motes/alias/apodo/apelativos (afectivos o no) casi casi es deporte nacional :biggrin: (No es mi intención, asi que nadie se ofenda! creo que todos sabemos que aqui esto esta a la orden del dia)

     

    El caso es que desde hace tiempo, (al menos que yo sepa desde la guerra civil) nuestros pilotos llaman a sus aviones en función de alguna característica que en ellos destaca. Por poner varios ejemplos.

     

    A los Bf-109 que se quedaron en españa despues de la guerra y fueron mejorados por Hispano aviación se les llamo "BUCHONES", son esos que parecen un híbrido entre un Spitfire y un BF-109, "Buchones" porque la "protuberancia" en la parte inferior del motor recuerda al "buche" de un pájaro (Vease; m. Bolsa membranosa de las aves situada entre las clavículas y la parte anterior del cuello y que comunica con el esófago, en la que acumulan el alimento para digerirlo lentamente.)

     

    Otro. Al Polikarpov I-16, en el bando republicano se le llamo "Mosca" y en Nacional "Rata"

     

    Desde luego hay muchos más, puede que, tantos motes como aviones...!! Por citar algunos más modernos....

     

    Al F-5A, se le llamo cariñosamente "LA BICICLETA", (No lo se a ciencia cierta y mas bien es una apreciacion propia) quizás por que los pedales bien podrían ser de bici con el logotipo de Northrop en ellos!

     

    Los F-4C Phamton, fueron adquiridos a la USAF y muchos de ellos (tras volar por los cielos de Vietnam) llegaron en no "muy buenas" condiciones, con el paso del tiempo la pintura negra del radomo se les empezó a caer dejando ver la fibra de vidrio, con lo que se ganaron el apodo de "LEPROSOS"

     

    A los Mirage IIIEE, se les llamo "PLANCHETAS", la planta alar lo deja bastante claro.

     

    El Mirage F-1, entró en servicio en 1975, a día de hoy no se les ha dado el "pase" y eso son 38 años por los aires (Modernizados),(Esto tampoco lo sé a ciencia cierta pero...) puede que sea el avión más longevo que el EDA haya tenido, luego lo de "ABUELA", se lo tiene merecidamente ganado..... :biggrin:

     

    Otro. A los F-18/A Se les llamó "SOPLETE", quizás quedaron impresionados con la postcombustión......

     

    Entre los Helis, también hay motes, A los UH-1H se les apodó "BATIDORAS" por su característico ruido y hélice bipala y a los Sea king "VACAS SAGRADAS" (Eran grandes y caros....aunque ahora creo que se les llama "MORSAS")

     

    Bueeeno después de este sermón. :heat: .....espero te haya aclarado algo....se que has preguntado por el F-1 pero tampoco tenia nada mejor que hacer....... :grandpa: Si alguien sabe más, o quiere corregir algo...será bien recibido!!

    This is a great Job!!

     

    A little history.

     

    When the EDA bought the F-18A, this Tornado was one of the options, along with the F-16, F-14, F-15, F-5 Tiger II/III (i don´t remember) and Mirage 2000.

     

    They despised the F-15 and the F-14 due to its high cost, and the Tiger II/III was an improvement of the F-5A.

     

    Then, the Tornado were discarded (For purely political decision :dntknw: ) and Mirage 2000 for not being a versatile platform.

     

    The decision was between the F-18 and F-16, and was chosen the first because it was more polyvalent

     

    Personally, I think the F-16 has aged better...

    "Googling" a little, i have found this site, there are some info about "Federal Standard Colors" and some color charts. (Including one for AKAN paints, but it´s too blurred) All in pdf format.

    Hi all!!

     

    This is for skinners that don´t know this site, and want to use FS (Federal Standard) colors for their projects.

     

    1st- Go here: http://www.colorserver.net/

     

    2nd- Write the color code and click "Display color"

     

    3rd- Right click and "save as" doesn´t work!! so, you will need a screen capturer

    (The easiest to use, at least for me, here: http://screencapturer.com/ )

     

     

    NOTE: Color codes can be found in sites or forums related to static modeling, or plans for those. There is a HUGE ( :shok: )discussion about this!!

    Me alegro de que guste!

     

    Aun estoy preparando algo mas...reskineando los C-12 con los colores FS (Federal Standar), preparando un Early CR-12 (para el de Mirage Factory), reskineando las "Planchetas" (También con un fictional Lagarto) y haciendo unos C-130. En funcion del tiempo disponible...a ver si puedo subirlos todos junto con las "vacas" en un "FFAA Skinpack" ( :biggrin:) este mes...

    Estos dos están a puntito de salir del horno......

     

    Esta basado en el Harrier Gr1, no es igual que el AV-8S pero puede vale.

     

    Tambien les he metido (en el .ini) ECM, que al parecer, llevaban en sus dias.....

    Really, resolution (512x512) is a problem, (for example, CL-13B_62 skins are 1024x1024, that lets work better and more defined.) i tried zoom these ones, but looses too much definition....

     

    these templates could be interesting.....

     

    other way can be, making a new temps using a mixture between CL-13B_62 skins and Guest´s Temps (for references), by hand of course. but time is gold......

     

    in all cases, i´m willing to improve. :boxing:

    Pack de Skins para el F-86F de las FFAA Españolas.

     

     

    Mod basado en el F-86F-30FB disponible en la instalación de Nato Fighters 5 (NF5)

     

    Fueron cedidos un total de 270 aviones por la USAF a España dentro del Programa de Asistencia y Defensa Mútua (MADP).

     

    Formaron las alas 1 Manises, 2 Zaragoza, 4 Mallorca (Formada por un escuadron procedente de Manises), 5 Moron y 6 Torrejon, asi como el 98 escuadron del Mando Aereo Tactico y el 732 Escuadron de la escuela de reactores.

     

    Entraron en servicio en 1955 y en 1970, tras mas de 350.000 horas de vuelo fueron dados de baja para sustituirlos por los F-5
