I've just bought the merged pack for £80 but having so many troubles it was supposed to cut out us having to merge the files etc.

1 Apparently there is a bug that only generates one mod folder(North Atlantic) none of the others appeared and my Save games folder is on my G drive

2 Because of this I cannot do anything like change mapped buttons for joystick because there is no folders where the controls can be saved, strangely the North Atlantic works but that has a mod folder.

3 My age I am 71 have gamed all my life love the cold war aircraft the lightning what a plane and others, anyone help please

Sir, there is a valuable tutorial to do exactly that signed by our esteemed collegue MIGBUSTER in the knowledge base. Please take a look.

That pretty much looks like what I have every time I  do a merged install of SF2,Vietnam,Europe,Israel,Exp1,Exp2 & North Atlantic.

my problem now is say I want to do the Mod wings over Korea and I follow the steps to make a duplicate copy of the .Exe and .ini and rename them to proper mod name and run the Exe so that it makes a mod folder in the Users/Saved Games, nothing happens now.

I am not familiar with the mod you are talking about. This what I suggest you to do:

    - read carefully ALL that modder who made the mod says there.

    - don't hesitate to contact, via PM, the author of the mod, to give you suplementary explanations if you feel you need them

Usually these mods just tap into some new or modified terrain and they did that on a (modified) stock map. The common problem is often the path to that exe file. If it is wrong , them the game won't know what "executable" to start, taking into account that the mod was tested and it works as it should.

Wrench is Maitre extraordinaire (I love this title LOL) du terrains, so your best bet is to approach him and ask for help on the matter on hand. If he is not busy and you catch him in a good mood (a very important condition LOL) he might explain to you, after taking a look to the files (smacking you around a bit too), what is really happening there. But if he's not in a good mood, well...if I were you I would run as far and as fast as I can LOL

However the situation he will help you eventually so I would keep the spirits high on this one. :)

I just updated to windows 11 and reinstalled my strike fighters 2 full merged in correct order. Now I go to make the Vietnam Air/Ground gold mod folder and nothing happens when running the newly renamed exe. It does not show up in the c:\ThirdWire\Saved Games location.
i’m stumped as to what the problem can be. Anyone have issues with this happening in Windows 11.

i think I encountered this early on in win 10 also

Make sure you have something similar. I use the Strike Fighter Israel 2 as default "game" and interface. Click on the attached picture to zoom in.

A primer/undercoat is a layer of paint you apply before your actual paint, either to increase adhesion, protect from corrosion/rust/other environmental elements, enhance shadows when talking about model painting, or a mix of all.

Zinc-chromate is one such primer used in the aviation industry since at least WW2, and it's well, yellow.

Thx for the insight, it helped.Though I still remember a little chemistry from school, I didn't know that this mix is yellow. I know how Zinc looks like, I know how Chrome look like, but I never seen the new chemical substance resulted from the mix.

  5. Did you eat your cookies and the milk ? Did you behave all this time ? Whaaaat? You didn't ??? LOL Well, anyway St Nicolas has news for you.We are officially launching our AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDC_T-5_Brave_Eagle) thread. Our AT-5 is almost done, some details still remain to be nailed down.

As you might know by now, AT-5 is a trainer that has ability to carry most weapons the F-ck-1 could, except radar guided A2A weapons and the TC-2A anti-radiation missiles. It has no gun so we took the initiative to create an external gunpod for it.  Model itself is finished, though we might have to add an additional mesh to the back seat for the Hud repeater among other things. Since the AT-5 is a F-ck-1 modified version, we created templates for the AT-5 fuselage and updated them many time during the development. We still have some work here and there, for instance to adjust panel lines and the fade-in parts for the gills and airscoops. We planned, for now, just three skins for it (see the first two pictures and the last one included) though they will be a (real) challenge for the team given their complexity but I think we will manage it in the end. Decals are already planned to be implemented for it, too. We like the details so for the prototype we'll build a slightly different AC.lod with additional antennas. We made brand new pilots for the plane and we will also update soon the F-ck-1 with these new created pilots for it, too.

Given the present period of the year and the fact that some members of the team will take soon a well deserved holiday, we will have important news for you at the end of the January, next year. Until then we will work to the skins and to some left details. Stay tuned.

PS - I included four pictures as well for our model.

Apparently you didn't understand my comment... it doesn't matter if you have a cockpit or not (I posted the sentry mods without a pit and they asked me the same thing), I'm just telling Gepard and others who see this thread in the future, that the pit F-16 is very similar and can still be made to look even more by being creative. . that's all.

Not every comment is a criticism or a clumsy question... sometimes the translation or the reader's humor causes them to interpret the wrong things.

Ok, if that comment was just a suggestion for the ones who are keep wondering about cockpit choices made, then I can see your point. Not hearing the tone/voice of someone who just writes a message can be , sometimes, deceiving and submitted to interpretations. Taking into account that, in your statement you were not referring to anyone specific, I just assumed you were talking to me (the initiator of the whole thread), that is why I chose to answer to you.

Just a comment... or take it as a thought out loud... why use the F-18 cockpit if the F-16 cockpit is almost like the original? I would use that one, maybe being picky I would remove some bits and happily fool myself. Even with a fake pilot you could (in theory) add accessories and with INI editing some elements can be moved and/or disappear... even making things disappear and painting them with an editor is also an option.

As I answered to Michael (see the post above yours), I am telling you, too, that the F-18 cockpit has nothing to do with our choice to hook this plane up to a cockpit. It's just the test cockpit that was used, and that's the all of it, it just remained that empty entry there, in the cockpit.ini file. If it would have been other cockpit, the same, you or anyone else, would have asked why that one and so on. Now do you see where I am getting with this ?  Furthermore, there is not a single statement in this thread, in plane download page's file or anywhere else on this website where we, EVER, said that there will be used the  X, Y  or Z cockpit for this plane. So why do you keep asking that I wonder folks ? Don't get me wrong, I am not upset because people are keep asking that, I'm just puzzled that people are asking that, instead of seeing the simple obvious...

I have a problem with the HUD. It seems to be that some of the symbols are missing.

Michael, if you remember, when we did that public test with our "B" version and you discovered that graphic glitch, you also asked me, in a post, where is the F-18 cockpit (the cockpit.ini file had an entry for a F-18 cockpit LOD). I am telling you now, the same I was telling you then: the F-18 cockpit is/was just for TEST bro ! We used it because we didn't have a dedicated one build (yet), that's the only reason. So, please, just download and use whatever cockpit suits you the best. When we will release a dedicated one (we stated that we will have one in the near future, in our road map, if you saw the post) I promise you that I will let you know personally when it will be ready. :)

PS - If you really want that bad that F-18 cockpit, I used one from SF1 series, I think it is still in the download section, just look it up. Apart from that I can't help you with the mattered you flagged (HUD material and stuff). As Eric implied you have to do some digging on your own to bring it up to SF2 standards.

The Taiwanese Ching-Kuo Fighter is developed and manufactured by the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation based in Taichung. The aircraft is also referred to as the Indigenous Defence Fighter (IDF). The Ching-Kuo is an all-weather, multi-role fighter and is built in one-seater and two-seater configurations.
    Ching-Kuo fighter programme

The programme to develop the aircraft, known as the An Hsiang or Safe Flight programme, started in 1982 with identification of the requirements for an air-superiority fighter. The rollout ceremony of the first prototype took place in December 1988, when the aircraft was named after the late President Chiang Ching-Kuo. The Ching-Kuo made its first flight in May 1989.

Ching-Kuo air superiority fighters are operational in the RoC Air Force of Taiwan (Republic of China) since January 2000 and the last of a total of 130 entered service in July 2000.

AIDC has developed an upgrade package which includes a digital cockpit, upgraded radar and countermeasures. BAE Systems supplied the new 32-bit digital flight control computer. Two F-CK-1 prototypes were upgraded to F-CK-1 C/D in 2006. The upgraded C/D aircraft made its first flight in October 2006. It was renamed as F-CK-1 C/D Hsiung Ying (Brave Hawk) in 2007. Other improvements in the upgrade package included increased internal fuel capacity, improved avionics, renovated electronic warfare capabilities and strengthened landing gear. Production of the C/D version began in 2009 as part of the $588m Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) programme.

AIDC will upgrade the initial 71 of 130 IDFs under the MLU programme. The first batch of six upgraded F-CK-1 C/D IDFs were delivered to the ROCAF in June 2011. The remaining 65 were delivered at the end of 2012.

FCK-1 also known by you, by now, as COMMUNITY MOST WANTED is the first project here that was decided after a democratic vote of community members. I decided to let community vote what type of plane would wish to be built as a sign of appreciation and respect for it.
This project had a bumpy start. We lost the 3D Max guy after two weeks.Things went so bad that I saw no other way out than to close the shop. Then GKABS offered to help and bought a 3D model from the market. He and his team offered to take over the project but they had to postponed it before because of their current projects at that time. Then I had a long talk with my old friend and veteran Logan4 who, miraculously  offered to help and he gave me a reason to resurrect the project and put it back on tracks. We built a small team and we proceeded forward.
As one said it, I owe him one for that. Logan4 had an utmost contribution to this very project.Truth is that Logan4 and his exceptional character and altruism saved the project and I thank him for that deeply.

    Aircraft general features:

    - slick 3D design for A/C and B/D versions
    - canopy animation
