  1. It's monty's aircraft from 2003. I doubt he still has the max file. But I'd removed the turrets/guns before, a long time ago via data ini edits. But that would require a new, separate aircraft for the 509th.

I'm also finishing off the KAW Superforts. I'd forgotten I'd started them, oh so many years ago. There a screenie of one with Tallboys in the regular screenshots thread.

Have to fiddle the FM a bit -- it's too fast at altitude. Debug showed me at 425 knots TAS at 35k, 75% throttle -- 300 was the 'never exceed speed'

also, courtesy of Paulo (who sent me these bits more than 18 months ago!!) a workable cockpit, although the copilot won't have his panel.

And even though I'm very opposed to Player Controled Heavy Bombers , I'm working a usable bumsight.

None of it's perfect, but it works. If left under AI control, nobody will ever notice!

I tried removing the turrets/guns a week ago with no luck.  What part of the ini did you edit?  Thanks.

  2. Ice Duel, I assume (oh! that word!!) is for DBS??? When I rebuilt it, it was most definitely divided between "east and west".

    what airfields?

to check alignments, open the targets ini and look at the top section of EACH target area...

    location 1 is always friendly

    location 2 is always enemy

usually, the first target area is a 1; maybe swap out one of the friendly cities to the #1 position (#20, Northeast Cape), and move Nycgicen to #20. Target 2 is a friendly airfield;  having an airfield 1st (used to) cause issues.

of course, that may screw up the campaign, but ????

Yes Ice Duel uses the DBS terrain as well as DBS72 campaign.  I tried the change but no luck.  I believe it is something with the Ice Duel campaign because I don't have the same problem with DBS72.

  3. Essex Class Measure 32/3A Pattern (Rising Sun/YAP)

    FIRST THING.

You will need to have the Essex CV LOD. from Rising Sun over at the Yankee Air Pirates site. This skin and future skins I plan to release will not work with out it.

    ===============================================

    TO INSTALL:

unzip to a temp folder or your desktop or somewhere else that's easy to find

In the Essex folder, located in the GroundObject folder, make a copy of the CV9 skin folder and rename it CV9 M32 3A.

Then, simply, copy/paste the provided Essex_Camo folder into you new CV9 skin folder.

You'll probably be asked "OVERWRITE?", just say Yes.

    That's it.

    ----------------------------------------------

    Notes:

This is the measure 32/3A pattern applied to the following Essex class carriers, Intrepid, Franklin and Handcock.

The Colors used were Light Gray 5-L, Ocean Gray 5-0 and Dull Black 82

    Legal BS:

This is freeware;(That means you can't make someone pay for it) it CAN be distrubuted if the original readmes and all other pieces of the package remain intact.

Remember to add the names of all contributors, modders, suppliers, ect.

    About the skin.

This is a very rough and first attempt at doing skins for ships for me.If you can and want to improve them and add more detail, please do. I have no problem with any one doing that.

This is the Mesure 33 pattern the USS Hornet had during WW2

This is a very rough and first attempt at doing skins for ships for me.If you can and want to improve them and add more detail, please do. I have no problem with any one doing that. Due to some limitations with the BMP file for the island, the pattern will not be exact. This is mainly with the 5in

mounts and weapons directors. They would need their own bmp files. If some one can figure out how to do that, plaese let me know.

Then, simply, copy/paste the provided Essex_Camo folder into you new CV9 skin folder.

You'll probably be asked "OVERWRITE?", just say Yes.

    That's it.

Go forth and rain fire on your enemies from the sea.

    ----------------------------------------------

    Notes:

USS Essex was the only Essex class carrier to be painted in this cammo pattern. The pattern was known as MS-32v6/10D. it was used mainly for destroyers but was adapted to the USS Essex.
