just edit image, please take a look..what's wrong with my HUD config? could it be from effects file? -
Hello guys,
How do i fix this strange thing HUD? it's annoying and appeared everytime i begin flying every aircraft, but if i move my plane to the right or left this thing gone (but not really gone)
is there something wrong with my effects file or my *.INI file?
any suggestion or maybe someone can send me the correct file?

Did you follow the install procedure ?
-copy paste original SF2V.exe somewhere else and rename it to your own (ex: SF2 GroundV or else anything u like)
-then move it back to folder thirdwire/strike fighters
-make a shortcut then run it
-after already in menu screen then go fly for a few seconds then quit
-check if it's already make its own folder in your folder /savedgame/strikefighters/(your new vietnam folder should already there)
-then delete all file inside objects folder in those new created folder
-then simply extract those Vietnam Air ground gold 2.0 mod including new patch expansion Air ground 2.0 inside those new created folder
-after that open option.ini
-in the line single mission make a date as in reference in manual readme SF2 Ground vietnam (maybe around 1962-1972? i forgot :D ) then save it
-now your mod should run propperly, just click at shortcut game

After we put sweetfx to the folder is that already automatic running when we start the game? or do we've to turn it on the effects manually using hotkey?

The AIM-9 is a passive IR seeker. It senses the heat from an aircraft's engine exhaust, or heat induced by friction between the aircraft and airframe. You can tell that an IR seeker is locked on because of the tone it will generate. When locked on, the tone will increase in volume and pitch.
With the radar-guided missiles, you need to use the radar to acquire and lock up the target before firing. You must be within all parameters before firing. With semi-active missiles (AIM-7), you must keep the radar locked on to the target until impact.

yes it's almost 3 years i guess, first play in 2010 and the last time i play in around 2011 with so many aircrafts and mod i've collect but not so long after that i lost all of mod i've collect because my hardrive dead and just a couple month in 2013 i've begin install it again after seeing so many new mod, but till 2011 this problem never solve by me because i thought it was in weapon config that didnt match with aircraft config :D

Got it! i've to use home or page up key for radar!! (oh so soorryy!! im so dumb!!)...i thought it's has same mechanism like AIM9 which is very simple just seek and fire, for 3 years i've been looking for the answer and just found it today, i thought that's because the config problem and that key i've never use that before !

does this AIM 120 or AIM 7 work had the same mechanism like AIM 9? sometimes i follow my target from behind after im out of my AIM 9 and only got AIM120 left, and target range is variation between 3-10 but nothing happen and no locking at the target, when im press key "E or R" i try to keep my sight at the target and sometimes i follow the target hoping i can shoot with my AIM 120B/C (i always use my AIM9 because the nonfunction of AIM120 or AIM7)

Hey guys,
I cannot launch or even dropping bomb for some of weapons
for example i use some modern planes on my single or campaign like F-15E or F-16, F-14, F22 etc and on my mission i take some air to air missiles like AIM120 or AIM7
but the problem is they wont fire also they even cannot track the target.
anyone can tell me what should i do? do i've to edit the weapon config or something? and please tell me how

problem solved for now by installing win 7 64bit and wipeout my win 7 32bit...strange but that works with all unlimited setting

aaah another problem guys, now with Ground objects unlimited that sometimes when mission loading it's not responding at 40% or 80% or after 90% ..anyone had problem issue with ground objects unlimited setting running with mod? i've to reduce this one only in high
and btw can someone tell me what's the difference between ground objects setting in unlimited and high?
any suggestion how to fix this? -
Thanks guys now im able to play any mods in unlimited setting
i guess that's my video card fault so i change it now with 2gb single gpu and using win 7 ultimate
and they runs perfectly!

with the GTX-580 you may need an other power supply with 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin video card connector
oh my psu already have it same like my gtx 295 1x6 pin and 1x8 pin :)

if you like to run SF2 on unlimited than you may have to switch to Win7 and a better CPU , Graphic card
i try to use unlimited settings with win XP and i encounter problems to , no CTD but long loading time and a big FPS hit , switching to win7 was a big improvment but you would still need a better Graphic card
yes i'll go for it, buy video card, add more ram and install win 7 and just got info from my friend that he want to sell his MSI gtx 580 for $150 as i've only low budget for the video card and i think im gonna take it

I'm not really understanding your response.......if your settings allow you to load on High then start there and adjust your settings upward in custom ...... You can probably narrow it down to which setting is causing the problem
The game is still quite enjoyable on settings lower than unlimited
oh yes..i already use custom setting like u said and i check each one that which one is causing the crash
just found that if i choose cockpit unlimited and the object detail is unlimited then it crash or the cockpit texture become white but if i choose the cockpit unlimited and the object detail is high then it works...the problem came from the object detail which cause crash on my pc and i dunno why
for me maximum setting shows a lot big diffrence especially with high and unlimited, in unlimited the cockpit panel show very detailed but in high there's blurry panel that i feel i dont like it
im sorry i dont like low or medium or even high setting for a good game like this that im really enjoy playin this at its best look and probably i must buy a new one for my video card and change to win 7 as well... :)

Hmm so this mod had to use at least 1 GB with single GPU right? well i'll try that to switch my vga & hope that works...thanks for the advice -
Hello guys,
i've a problem with my SF2 graphics setting
just install Operation Desert storm but when i try to pick unlimited settings to get better image quality, it's always crash to desktop but if i choose high there's no problem with it
and it's only happen with SF2 Desert storm, other SF2 like SF2E, SF2V or SF2I all didn't have problem with unlimited graphic setting
any advice? i already patch to the latest july 2013
My system :
Win xp pro 32bit
Proc G630 2.7ghz
VGA GTX 295 1.7gb 896bit
4 GB DDR3 pc12800
Is there a problem with my installation or i miss something here?

Update:
i just remove my 266.58 driver (because it makes my GPU temperature increase more faster and my cpu load too ) and now install 270.61 nvidia driver for XP 32bit ...
i love this driver , now the game looks more sharp, texture contrast were so damn good, no more high temperature on my GPU and of course now my fps much better...looks like im gonna stick to it for a while

update:
i just downgrade my nvidia driver 275.33 to 266.58 and the answer yes it's more stable and lot missing texture fixed also i don't have to set texture filtering to high quality (quality mode still no problem) but now my vga temperature looks rising from 52 to 55, i set my fan to 60% now from 35%(default fabric)
so far everything looks fine and no more crash
any ideas for good performance, stable and compatibility nvidia driver Geforce 9 series for win xp 32 ?

sorry guys..
i guess that way will fix most several issue on cockpit but not to all plane (maybe this happen to me only ...
if i find another wrong texture/missing in cockpit on other plane the only way to fix that is to maintain one default loadout and the rest is up to us or u can use default loadout
maybe this's some bug on my nvidia driver..i dunno...but that's not a big problem as long there's a way to fix it

I just found the cause is...it's from my nvidia 3D manage setting in display properties:
now i set texture filtering quality = High Quality (everythings going normal !!)
my previous texture filtering quality = Quality <=== this's the problem
now problem solved!!

mine just old pc
9600gt 512mb, OS Win XP SP3 & driver nvidia 275.33 (set 4x AA supersampling), Amd dual core 64 X2 5ghz + memory 4 Gb
if my system cannot load up all skin..why it only happen in campaign mode? all in single mission no problem at all..i can choose whatever loadout...just curious if it might be crash due to Nato 4+ mod?

i have a problem with cockpit texture in campaign mode but everythings fine in single mission
in this case i had a problem with F-117 cockpit in campaign mode..i play germanyCE campaign with 512x512 tiles update by Stary & SFP1ace
for now i just found that the problem is in Loadout system (missiles,bombs)
case 1:
when i choose 1 GBU12 paveway II D/B LGB & 1 GBU12 paveway D/B II LGB
then this what happen..:
case 2:
when i choose 1 MK83 & 1 MK83
it crash to desktop
case 3:
when i choose 1 GBU10 paveway Dumb & 1 GBU12 paveway D/B II LGB or standard 1 GBU 10 dumb & 1 GBU 10 dumb
everythings fine & normal
at the moment the best solution for me only from case 3
no missing texture in cockpit and everything's normal
is there any solution or suggestion that i might miss something? so i might use another Loadout option

it's A-10C Warthog and the other is Rafale but seems more happen to 4th gen modern jet as im trying to combine some mods into 1 (ODS,War For Israel,Vietnam Ground,Operation Oddsey and Darius === hate to go in and out just to switch with different campaign )
it's works well from ODS,WFI,Vietnam and Darius) until i try to merge files from Operation Odessey mod but i don't know which file cause this, for me it's looks like a waypoint direction mark like what Crusader said.
because when i move to the left and right the strange marks will also move and gone from the HUD unless im back to the certain point to where my plane start in the air (i choose to start at the near target method when flying single/campaign).
i just take a look back at the original Oddesey mod part, there's no effects folder so my guess is from Oddesey mod Flight folder which causing this but guess i could be wrong
