  1. I know that it is too late...but from point of view of 3d model - S-2 tracker / E-1 Tracer also Mirage 2000N/D  should not compete against each other. 3d guy having S-2 can pop up E-1 or C-1 easily too - then you have 3 new aircraft.  Same situation in the 2000 N/D spot.

And now you can see that 2000N has 12 votes while 2000D has 11 and both are losing to some wannabe fighter. While could have strong 23 points...And from 3d model / ini file, there is not much of a difference.

but just my 2 peso to discusion.

We can list needed cockpits and it will be long

And how this is going to help?

It is fun to have a wish list...but it is only fun. the cockpit will not make itself suddenly...

Research time. This is not like you will google "xyz cockpit" and have ready everything. Manuals, hundreds of photos and you still will have a shitload of work. I think years ago someone asked about creating a research group - to take part of the workload from the modeler. Suppose it did not work out either. Maybe one day...  as for now generally, 3d guys here are on their own...

But believe me, research in this matter is hard. As I said - it is not about googling cockpit photos.

the best thing about making a working cockpit is - that in the end after all this hard work you will feel rewarded.

So...yes we need a cockpit for this and that..but whining about it...will not make it happen...

  3. drag chute must be part of the model properly linked in a hierarchy and be part of the visible component in data.ini.

the new cockpit is not a problem  - usually, the time needed to build one is. Generally, building a cockpit is much easier than an aircraft model - it just takes much more time.

Same thing about double cockpits. Either it is a backseater, side-seater, or even can have three positions. The thing is you need time to build one.

I believe bazillius means that if we are to choose between trainers and prototype aircraft and X planes, then trainers should win the vote and I agree with him on that point. I also agree that in the end the winner should not be some obscure model with limited use, but one that will be interesting and usefull to most members here. Also I would vote for a model, that can be made accurate with minimum compromise within the available resources. Let's take the Su-34 as an example. I would love to have it in game, but first we have the cockpit issue - a Su-34 with F-111 or B-1B cockpit - no, thanks, I'd rather have something else. Then we also have the various pylon and rail taypes used on the Su-34 for A2A, A2G missiles, bombs, drop tanks, etc. I doubt many modders would be interested and would spend the time needed to moddle all correct pylons and rails for the Su-34 and having bombs loaded on missile rails or missiles on bomb pylons is a no-go for me. In other words, I would perefer something less complicated, but accurately moddled, than something very complicated, but inaccurate or highly compromised.

    Amen.

And I repeat myself again, at this point that we have plenty of goodies in the game. I prefer quality rather than quantity. I do not want 69 new aircraft I would rather have one but delicious.

And honestly, If I do not have a cockpit for mod I do not install the mod -(with few exceptions for some heavies..and if it is for the red side) but this is my approach.
