  1. SF2NA A-4C_65 Pack

    SF2NA A-4C_65 Pack
    = Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged
This project started as a personal customization to improve historically the skins for the CVW-1 A-4C_65's Squadrons  aboard JFK in her maiden cruise.
So,I realize them basically to be used in the Northern Sabre 69 present in the SF2NA Expansion Pack.
The skins are based on the superb Nyghtfall's templates,so much of the credit will be deserved by him.
All the decals was done by me.
All the Bu.Nos are historically correct for all three Squadrons.

    Know issue:

The only issue is common to all three skins: I collected all the Bu.Nos. assigned to all three Squadron, but was unable to associate the specific Modexes to some of them, so I'll be a bit licensing about this aspect

  2. SF2_IDF_V2K_B-17s

    SF2_IDF_V2K_B-17s
= Tested in  Full-5 Merged installation
This project started as a personal customization to have the Israeli skins for Veltro 2K B-17F/G.
In 1948 the IDF/AF found four  B-17G in a dump in Florida and bought them. The planes were in very poor conditions, stripped of the turrets and instruments.Three were made airworty and flew via Azores to Czechoslovakia, there received additional and better instruments ( some war-time Luftwaffe gunsights,ecc...) and loaded with bomb.On their way to Israel, one bombed Cairo and the other two Egyptian positions in Sinai.
The fate of the fourth bomber was less succesful, because the raids of the first three on Egypt prompted a FBI investigation and , cut a long story short, the plane was seized by authority in the Azores, as the crew involved choose to rest after the trip instead of refuel the bird and take off as soon possible.
The bombers were assigned to the 69 Squadron The Hammers at Hatzor and given serial number 1601,1602 and 1603, and by the end of the War of Indepenence the B-17s had flown over 200 missions.
At the time of the Suez crisis the Fortresses were out of service but two were brought back in action with changed two-digit serial numbers and incomplete camouflage ( only brown instead of the standard  brown-blue over silk grey).
During their operational use the planes were painted in different way, comprised NMF and with various artwork applied, but this wasn't my focus.

    ------------
    Know issue:
This modest pack contain both the F and G model despite Israel bought only G model. My choice was dictated by the fact that during the War of Independence the planes were armed only woth the waist and tail guns in a indigenous modification, the rear bulkhead of the tail position conmpletely removed and equipped with twin .03 inch machineguns. For these reason I opted for the B-17F in my mod
By the time of the Suez action ( in reality even before) the complete armament was restored, here my choice for the B-17G.
In 1956 the s/N 23 had the chin turret replaced by a search radar for maritime patrol, but I'm absolutely unable to modify the models as I'm not a modder, so you will be fly with the gun turret in his place.
I choose to add the fourth plane ,just to have one more, despite never arrived in Israel.

  3. TMF F-14A_82 SF2NA Skin pack

    TMF F-14A_82 SF2NA Skin pack
Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged and based on 1977Frenchie and Blackburn32 great skins.
I've started this skin in order to have the correct skin for the VF-14 and VF-32 cruise on USS Independence in 1982-83 ( comprised the crisis in Lebanon)  and VF-11 and VF-31 embarked in USS J F Kennedy in 1982 and USS Forrestal in 1986 for The Mirage Factory F-14A_82,to be used in the campaign of SF2NA Expansion Pack and SF2 North Cape
Few decals are modified from the original skins of Blackburn32 and/or 1977Frenchie, but the majority was done by me.I've also added the correct ( more or less) gun gas vents in place of the incorrect NACA ones.
    ==========
    To Install:
As always ,all in the relative folders in your game(s)
As these skins was designed to replace those already done by TMF/1977Frenchie/ Blackburn32, If you will preserve the old ones, please made a back-up of the latters as the folder in this pack share the same folders names and will overwrite all

TMF, Blackburn32 and 1977Frenchie for the F-14A and skins
Me for the decals and the small improvements
If I've forgot someone, please let me know please!

    ------------
    Know issue:
As always I tried to be the more historically precise as possible, but I miss some squadron's Bu.Nos/modexes and some skins have decals for just 10 planes out of the 12 standard for a Navy Squadron...sorry!

  4. TMF F-14A_82 VF-41-84 '86 Cruise Skins

    SF2NA TMF F-14A_82 VF-41-84 '86 Cruise Skins
Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged and based on Blackburn32 and 1977Frenchie ODS 30th Anniversary great skins.
During the past Winter-Spring lockdown I've tried to create some skins for the The Mirage Factory Tomcats in order to match the correct markings for the Squadrons included in my modded installation of SF2NA ( Exp Pack, Med Crisis and North Cape) finishing to realize "new" skins for other planes, in one case for the whole Air Wing!
These mini Pack comprised the correct markings for the VF-41 and VF-84 1986 cruise aboard USS Nimitz to be used with the The Mirage Factory F-14A_82,to be used in the SF2NA expansion
Almost all the decals was done by me, with very few modified ones from the starting skins.

    Know issue:

I tried to be the more historically precise as possible, but I miss some squadron Bu.Nos/modexes and prefered to not add any fictious solutions.
The VF-84 skipper jet was a Hi-viz bird for which I realized a separate skin that can be selected in the Briefing screen dropdown menù, Anyway,I've included also the Lo-Viz markings for this plane ( as other line bird) 'cause my research showed the same Bu.No. with both markings, probably a pre- and during Cruise livery, I left at the single player the choice!

  5. SF2NA A-7s Skin Pack

    SF2NA A-7s Skin Pack
    = Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged
This project started as a personal customization to improve historically the skins for the VA-72 A-7B_71 for the squadron cruise aboard JFK in 1975 and for VA-81 and -83 aboard Saratoga during the clashes with Libya of 1986.
So,I realize them basically to be used in the Northern Sabre 75 and El Dorado Canyon Campaignes present in the SF2NA Expansion Pack and SF2 Med Crisis.
The starting skins with which I played around are 3W for the A-7B_71 and the Wrench'TPS one for the A-7E_74,so much of the credit will be deserved by them; I added to the Echo skins some missing panel lines and the latches and air vents of the avionic bays plus some extra weathering and corrosion control.
The Bravo received the same treatement of the Echo plus the squadron specific blue on the wings and fin tips and the white of the nose.
All the decals was done by me.
All the Bu.Nos are historycally correct for all three Squadrons; this was one of the hardest part and I was able to barely sort out the required 12 to complete the standard number of planes deployed by a Navy squadron.

    Credits:
3W for the A-7B_71 and A-7E_74 Corsairs and the -7B_71 skin
Wrench for the already great A-7E_74 TPS skins,a handy starting point
Makoto for the idea and permission of the VA-72 fuselage stripe decals
Me for the decals and the small improvements

    ------------
    Know issue:

The first issue is common to all three skins; despite I'd the pilots name for the Squadrons cruises,I wasn't able to pair name and assigned planes,so the nameplates are present but empty.
Next nthe ones for the VA-72: the most important, I forgot one chess line on the rudder;I was misguided by the initial reference found and when I noticed the error, due to unwillingness to redo the work again from such an advanced state,I choose to left all as it was, sorry,
The fuselage stripe;actually the stripe will stop at the lower edge of the avionic bays access doors, but I was unable to obtain this and as result the decals continue 'till the most forward of the MLG doors, sorry but my skill are very limited...
If someone will address these issues, feel free to try ( and share) the result!

  6. F-4S VF-103 skins for The Mirage Factory F-4S

    SF2NA TMF F-4S VF-103 skin
= Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged and based on Sundowner great skin and template
I've stared this skin in order to have the correct skin for the VF-103 last Phantom cruise aboard USS Forrestal to be used with the The Mirage Factory F-4S, of which we already have the VF-74 for the same cruise,to be used in the
Northern Sabre (1982) campaign in the SF2NA expansion
All the decals was done by me.

    ------------
    Know issue:

I tried to be the more historically precise as possible, but I've found only half squadron correct Bu.Nos/modexes; all the othe was of F-4S for which there aren't registered Squadron assignament for the 1982
The Squadron correct Bu.Nos are identified by an asterisk

  7. F-4C_67 557th TFS 1969

A new historical skin and decals for F-4C_67 Phantom II.
Based on Sundowner great template slightly modified removing and/or deleting some markings and stencils and adding some more weathering here and there. Also I changed the colors of the belly aux doors and the area of the BLC .
Started as a tribute to my friend (then) Capt. Gene Korotky, flying with the Squadron during his tour of duty in 1968-69.
My original idea was to realize only SANDY BAY-BEE,the plane assigned to Capt. Korotky, and in some way I involved Paulopanz to help me with the decals; but the skill of Paulopanz are so high and Gene sent me so much pics and first hand refs that we decided to create a whole mod ...
    CREDITS AND THANKS:
    - Sundowner for is great work on the original template
    - Paulopanz that create almost all the decals and improved those created by me and had the patience and will to teach me many things!
    - Capt. Gene Korotky for all the references
    ABOUT CREW NAMES:
We tried to add as more historically correct pilots names as possible, but it must be noted that crew names on the aircraft changed since the tours in Vietnam were for one year, meaning a constant changeover of personnel.

    WHAT INSIDE:
The mod include a new skin and decals, a background file writed by Gene with info about the 12th TFW of which the 557th TFS was part and pics of the Squadron at the time of his 1968-69 tour of duty taken by Gene Korotky

    TO INSTALL:
    - As always all in main mod folder and that's all!
    Good hunting
