File Name: Mirage IIIBS File Submitter: denissoliveira File Submitted: 10 May 2015 File Category: Mirage 3 Mirage IIIBS The two-seater Mirage for conversion training, first flew on October 21, 1959 and received the designation Dassault Mirage IIIB. The fuselage is 60 cm longer than the single seat, and the two cabins are closed by a single cover. As the rear cabin occupies the space for avionics in single-seat, this equipment usually goes in the nose, instead of radar. Thus, training the Mirage III can not perform interception missions, although they have limited ground attack capability. The first Mirage IIIB of the production line for the Air Force of France flew on 19 July 1962. While maintaining the Atar 9B engine 6000 kg of thrust, the plane weighs little and performs well. Among the countries that have acquired Mirage training, most of them with guns, was Israel (Mirage IIIBJ), Lebanon (IIIBL), South Africa (IIIBZ) and Switzerland (IIIBS). The fuselage was stretched about a meter (3 ft 3.5 in) and both cannons were removed to accommodate the second seat. The IIIB had no radar, and provision for the SEPR rocket was deleted, although it could carry external stores. The AdA ordered 63 Mirage IIIBs (including the prototype), including five Mirage IIIB-1 trials aircraft, ten Mirage IIIB-2(RV) inflight refueling trainers with dummy nose probes, used for training Mirage IVA bomber pilots, and 20 Mirage IIIBEs, with the engine and some other features of the multi-role Mirage IIIE. One Mirage IIIB was fitted with a fly-by-wire flight control system in the mid-1970s and redesignated 'Mirage IIIB-SV (Stabilité Variable); this aircraft was used as a testbed for the system in the later Mirage 2000. View File Super Mirage F1AZ Super Mirage F1AZ After the war, plans were made to upgrade the Mirage F1 fleet by replacing the Snecma Atar 09K50 engine with the SMR95 engine which was based on the Klimov RD-33, and the integration of the Russian R-73 air-to-air missile. Fittingly the project aircraft for this was once again Mirage F1-AZ '216'. Mirage '216' became known as 'Super Mirage F1'. Echoing events of 1973 with the Mirage M53, sadly this project came to an end when after 22 years of service the SAAF withdrew the Mirage F1-AZ from service on the 25th November 1997. Thus ending the SAAF’s 35 year association with Mirage aircraft. Another project involved fitting an advanced avionics suite to Mirage F1-AZ '235', this system was introduced to the Spanish AF Mirage F1’s. Mirage '235' was given the unique white and arctic blue scheme, earning it the nickname as the worlds fastest dairy cart. After 22 years of service, only eight Mirage F1-AZ’s were lost, one due to enemy action. It is an updated version of the Etendard IVM. Based on experience gained during the Korean war (1950-53), French authorities drew up specifications for a light interceptor. This definition was rapidly assimilated into a program for a light tactical bomber that could also fulfil an air superiority mission. At the same time, NATO published its requirements for the LWTSF (Light Weight Tactical Strike Fighter). In response, the Dassault company presented its Mirage and Etendard aircraft. View File Mirage F-1CG Mirage F-1CG. This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him. Greece operated 40 Dassault Mirage F1CG single seat aircraft. F1CG was first ordered in 1974 and entered service with the Hellenic Air Force in 1975. The aircraft were used by 334 Squadron and 342 Squadron. Mirage F1CG was armed with the Sidewinder AIM-9P missile, rather than the most commonly used Matra Magic II, and it could carry four AIM-9Ps, rather than just two.
