Cockpit radar display and radar range lights have been changed match the APG-120 radar. - Rear cockpit is empty with no WSO or controls etc. If you read the McDonnell report the ability to fit the cockpit controls, displays and ejection seat was to be retained if required. 7. View File F-4E Mobius (Ace Combat 4) What is it? A skin-pack featuring the Independent State Allied Force's 118th Tactical Fighter Wing's Mobius Squadron, from the game Ace Combat 4. For the F-4E Phantom II - ARN (86). Mobius Squadron, part of the 118th Tactical Fighter Wing, was a fighter squadron comprised of pilots from the Independent State Allied Force's Air Force. The squadron saw active service during the 2003–2005 Second Usean Continental War. Its ace pilot, Mobius 1, rose to prominence and became the flight leader of the squadron around the start of ISAF's counteroffensive in late 2004. Around the time of ISAF's evacuation from the Usean mainland, Mobius 1 was the sole member of Mobius Squadron; whether this was by design or the result of losing squadmates during the Erusians' initial offensive remains unknown. Beginning with the ISAF's Operation Umbrella in September 2004, Mobius 1 quickly established himself as an ace, downing six Erusian Tu-95 Bear bombers and their escort fighters over Newfield Island. Over the course of the war, Mobius 1's accomplishments would inspire confidence in his allies and fear in his enemies. The full Mobius Squadron—under Mobius 1's command—was later formed by merging several other ISAF squadrons. On September 26, 2005, one week after the official armistice, ISAF dispatched the newly assembled Mobius Squadron to the Twinkle Islands to destroy Megalith, an Erusian superweapon capable of shooting down orbiting asteroid fragments. Mobius Squadron engaged and shot down the Erusians’ Megalith defence squadron before moving on to the rocket-launch facility. Through the combined efforts of Mobius Squadron and the special forces unit, ISAF was victorious once again, and Megalith was destroyed. Which addon(s) are required? 9. File Name: SF2_F-4E_Austere_HUD File Submitter: Crusader File Submitted: 22 July 2017 File Category: Avionics F-4E_75_AHUD (Austere HUD) mod The real Austere HUD modification has been tested on F-4E 68-0304 during 1974-76. The goal was to have a better sight display, primarily for air to air combat. Further modifications were made to the radar for a quicker boresight lock-on and new dogfight scan modes. The Austere HUD modification remained a F-4E test and didnt went into production aircraft or upgrades. Ive re-created the Austere HUD, using the TW F-4E_75 (required for the mod to work). Ive used the Wraparound desert skin for stock F-4E by amariani http://combatace.com/files/file/12057-wraparound-desert-skin-for-stock-f-4e/ for a quick "make it fly" setup (we dont have a proper Edwards Test Unit white with red trimmings skin) The real Austere HUD was a test setup, so its no problem to add/remove readouts to the HUD modes to ones personal liking. Background on the Rivet Haste project: With the soft (slatted) wing, the pinkie switch (basically the very first HOTAS), and the TISEO modifications for the F-4E, the USAF realized it had the tools to make its fighter pilots more lethal. In the late summer of 1972, the Rivet Haste program was established. Rivet Haste would be the Air Force's acknowledgement that years of substandard training and poor doctrine had to be reversed. Rivet Haste combined the slatted wing, TISEO, and 556 mod of the F-4E and teamed them up with handpicked crews with combat experience over Vietnam. They were assembled at Nellis AFB and here the key of Rivet Haste would take place- intensive training with the new F-4Es against the secret MiG force that Air Force flew out of Tonopah north of Las Vegas. Each Rivet Haste crew were paired up to stay together through training to deployment for combat- this allowed the pilot and his WSO to develop their own system of coordination in the cockpit and carry that to combat. Six pilots and six WSOs were in each Rivet Haste group and each pilot/WSO would fly at least three missions against the MiGs at Tonopah. Each month, a new group of six pilots and six WSOs were assigned to Rivet Haste. Crews assigned to Rivet Haste saw it as a quantum leap in air combat training that the USAF had never had before. Unfortunately they arrived in Vietnam to late to score any air-to air-kills and only flew a handful of Linebacker II missions before the end of the war. Click here to download this file

  15. File Name: CF-4E Phantom II - Canadian Forces - Part 2 File Submitter: Sheriff001 File Submitted: 04 October 2013 File Category: What If Hangar Introduction Here is McDonnell Douglas CF-110E Phantom II for the Canadian Forces Air Command. It is based on ravenclaw_007's new F-4E. This package contains the CF-4E, skins in Canadian Voodoo Grey and SEA camouflage. History During the 1960s, the Royal Canadian Air Force commenced a search for a more affordable fighter to supplement the CF-101 Voodoo, and the CF-104 Starfighter. The RCAF advised the government to acquire the F-4 Phantom II. The Canadian Government accepted the RCAF's advice, but McDonnell made a counter proposal. McDonnell's executives suggested that the Canadian Government order enough Phantoms to replace their entire fighter force, in exchange McDonnell would buy back the Voodoos, Orenda would manufacture J79 engines. The Government agreed to order enough Phantoms to equip nine squadrons, plus an operational training unit. The high rates of F-4 production at the time would allow for fairly rapid delivery beginning in 1968. The official Canadian designation for the Phantom was CF-110, but it was universally known as the CF-4. The Canadian Forces Air Command fielded four Phantom squadrons for NORAD, two for NATO at CFB Baden-Sollingen, three more NATO reinforcement squadorns in Canada, and an Operational Training Unit. In Europe, the CF-4 undertook the roles of close support, battlefield air superiority, and strike with nuclear and conventional weapons. Beginning in 1972, the reconnaissance role was filled by twenty four new RF-4E distributed among the NATO squadrons. In 1981, 414 Squadron was made operational with twenty CF-4G Wild Weasel aircraft. Canada's Phantoms saw combat in the Gulf War, and in Bosnia. After the Bosnian War, Canada decided to replace the CF-4 with the F/A-18C/D. The Phantom began to be phased out of CAF service in 1995, and was finally retired in 1998. Most of the surviving Canadian Phantoms were converted into QF-4 target drones. Contents This package contains the following: CF-4E-75 CF-4E-78 Weapons, from effects Ravenclaw_007's F-4E Phantom II Sounds from Comrad's F-4C(67) Phantom II skin-soundMOD Part 1 contained the CF-4E, CF-4E_72, and CF-4E_72 MIDAS & Hard Wing. Part 3 will contain the CF-4E-79, and CF-4E-86. Installation Copy all folders into your mod folder. Overwrite when prompted. Loadouts While Part 1 had special NORAD loadouts, the Phantoms in Part 2 have a single set of air-to-air loadouts, with AIM-7, AIM-9, and ECM pods. 23. View File [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas F-4E 'ADC' USAF McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4E 'ADC' for Strike Fighters 2 This is a simple mod of the stock F-4E_72 to make a fictional interceptor version of the Phantom for service with the USAF in the 1973 to 1998 timeline. 'What if' markings for four ANG squadrons are included; 1. 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron - Texas ANG 2. 119th Fighter Interceptor Squadron - New Jersey ANG 3. 186th Fighter Interceptor Squadron - Montana ANG 4. 198th Fighter Interceptor Squadron - Puerto Rico ANG BACKSTORY During early 1970 a USAF review of America's air defence assets highlighted the increasing obsolescence of several aircraft including the F-101, F-102 and F-104 and whilst early F-4C Phantoms were trickling down to the ANG units McDonnell Douglas could see an opportunity to sell an optimised 'Air Defense' version of the F-4E to the USAF to swiftly and cost-effectively modernise a large proportion of Aerespace Defense Command. During this time McDonnell Douglas had studied various single-seat or stripped-down versions of the F-4 for the German Air Force but for the USAF they proposed a version of the slatted F-4E with all air-to-ground capability removed, slightly more powerful 'clean burn' J79 engines, simplified air-to-air only radar and the new solid-state AIM-7F Sparrow missile offering longer range with its two-stage rocket motor. By this time the massive production run of the F-4 had meant that the fly-away unit cost for this simplified version of the F-4E made it one of the cheapest Phantoms ever and such was the confidence that the USAF had in McDonnell Douglas that in March 1971 they simply asked for a fixed-price quotation for 300 F-4E 'ADC' aircraft and ordered them in April 1971! First flown in June 1972 the F-4E 'ADC' were delivered in a smart and glossy 'air defense' grey scheme and entered service with the 198th Fighter Interceptor Squadron of the Puerto Rico ANG in February 1973 replacing the F-104C's and F-104D's of that unit. Sadly, eight of the 198th's Phantoms were destroyed in a terrorist attack at Muniz ANGB in January 1981 and the unit operated several 'standard' F-4E's until 'ADC' versions could be allocated to them. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4E_ADC folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4E_ADC folder into your Decals folder. That's it!
