View File Chengdu J-10AR "Ehécatl" Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl" This model is a approximation of how a Chengdu J-10 might look if it was in service with the Argentinian Air Force, being part of the 6to Grupo de Caza y Ataque, belonging to the VI Brigada Aérea. As many of you might know, Argentina is planning to modernize its air force, and one of the jets that has been considered is the J-10, coming along with the JF-17, the MiG-35 and the MiG-29 (I should work on one of those). The model, though, is not accurate. The offer made by China considers the J-10CE, an export version of the J-10C. This plane can carry Chinese and Russian weapons, and Argentinian Mk-series bombs. The aircraft will appear on the list as "Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl". The adding of the -AR is just a formality. To install it, you will need to copy and paste the folders in your SF2 mod folder, following basic mod installation proccess. In the folder >>J10AR-Final Version<< you will find 4 folders. These are: Aircraft >> J-10A Decals >> J-10A Flight >> FLIGHTENGINE.INI Weapons >> KometaTankC // KometaTankW Special thanks to: Erwin_Hans and InSky, for the fantastic model they made of the Dragon... Franconinja14, who made the skin for the plane... Stipe, for the MiG-29M3 "Hyper Fulcrum" and its HUD, that I used for this mod... Spinners, for the Kometa and its tanks, wich I use in this mod... Eagle114th, for the screenshots, giving me tips and helping with everything (this guy is a genius)... And ThirdWire, for this amazing sim, that I love and play almost everyday... I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I do. Have a good flight! Good hunting! Submitter 1309mariano Submitted 08/09/2021 Category What If Hangar

  7. View File [Fictional] Lockheed F-104H Starfighter for SF2 Lockheed F-104H Starfighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional F-104H in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina in the 1968-2006 timeline and with markings for; Grupo 8 (SEA Camo) Grupo 6 (Lo-Viz Grey N.B. StartDefaultDate=1983) Grupo 4 (Green/Grey Camo) BACKSTORY During the Spring of 1965 the Fuerza Aérea Argentina formally issued an operational requirement for a supersonic fighter-bomber to supplement and eventually replace it's F-86 Sabre force and to operate alongside the Douglas Skyhawks that were just entering service. The BAC Lightning was quickly ruled out as being short on range and undeveloped in the air-to-ground role and by the end of 1965 Fuerza Aérea Argentina officials declared that the choice was between the Dassault Mirage III and the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Lockheed had proposed a new variant, the F-104H, a projected export version based on the F-104G but with an optical gunsight and simplified equipment. Following a visit by Lockheed representatives to the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires in early July 1966 the newly inaugurated President Juan Carlos Onganía announced that 36 F-104H's would be procured for the Fuerza Aérea Argentina. Entering service in March 1968 with Grupo 8 de Caza at the Military Air Base Mariano Moreno the F-104H's served until 2006 when the last Starfighters operating anywhere in the world were finally retired. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Decals folder. That's it! I've kept the loadouts to basic stock weapons but if you have Argentine weapons in your install then it's worth editing the F-104H_Loadout.ini to suit what you have. BACKSTORY The Argentinian elections of 1958 saw Arturo Frondizi become President and with some support from Peron's followers to introduced various policies to encourage investment and make the country self-sufficient in energy and industry. One major issue was Argentina's chronic trade deficit and in early 1960 Frondizi cancelled the order for 28 refurbished F-86F Sabres on cost grounds and announced the procurement of 36 MiG-17PF interceptors from the Soviet Union for an undisclosed sum "to be funded solely by beef exports". Entering service with Grupo 6 De Caza in 1961 and armed with the indigenous 'Espada' radar-guided air-to-air missile the MiG-17PF's served in frontline service until 1979 and thus played no part in the 1982 Falklands/Malvinas conflict but did remain on reserve status until 1983. MiG-17PF 'Fuerza Aérea Argentina' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock MiG-17PF to give a fictional export version for the Fuerza Aérea Argentina with markings for Grupo 6 De Caza. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-17PF_FAA folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MiG-17PF_FAA folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the TANK400_MIG17_FAA folder into your Weapons folder. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. 19. View File [Fictional] Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' Fuerza Aérea Argentina Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire IL-28 to give a flyable (and fictional) IL-28 in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina with markings for; Grupo 1 de Bombardeo in the silver scheme as delivered. Grupo 2 de Bombardeo in the later 'sea grey' scheme selected for 'over-water' operations. I've put a patch.psd 'template' in there in case you'd like to switch things around and have both in silver or both in grey. COCKPIT I've used the A-4B pit as I think the cockpit framing looks quite suitable and the pit is nice and low-tech. The disadvantages are that there is no radar (not that the Beagle's radar was of much use) and that the A-4B pit is, of course, single-enginned. However, you can easily switch to another stock pit or go third-party. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_COAN folder into your Pilots folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire Productions for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 21. View File [Fictional] Tu-16 'Badger A' Fuerza Aérea Argentina Tupolev Tu-16 'Badger-A' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock AI Third Wire Tu-16 to give a flyable (and fictional) Tu-16 in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina with markings for Grupo 1 (grey) and Grupo 2 (silver) in the 1960's to early 1980's era. COCKPIT There is not really a totally suitable pit for this aircraft so I've decided not to include one but you will be sat in the right place (offset to port) and you will have a gun sight and a ground mapping radar. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Tu-16_FAA folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Tu-16_FAA folder into your Decals folder. That's it! FLYING THE BADGER It's so easy to scrape the tail when taking off so let the Badger 'auto take-off' by setting flaps and full power, release the brakes and the nose will lift at 260kmh and it will lift off the runway soon after. I've had good results by releasing my bombs at 10km away from the target whilst at 6,000m altitude but the Badger will happily cruise at 9,000m and at that height you should release your bombs at about 12km away from the target or just a bit more. Remember that the Badger has a fixed forward-firing 23mm cannon so if your bombs miss the fuel tank then get down nice and low and take it out that way! To help you land the Badger I've added fake airbrakes which will slow you down enough so it's just a matter of lining up the runway from a fair old distance and making a nice 'greaser' of a landing. It does sometimes help to push the stick forward to overcome the bounciness of the landing gear. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
