  2. File Name: F-35A/B Lightning II International Operators skin pack File Submitter: dtmdragon File Submitted: 21 June 2014 File Category: What If Hangar F-35A/B Lightning II International Operators skin pack. National markings are based on the way the RAM compatible markings have been done in real life on the Dutch and British F-35 aircraft. The squadrons I’ve chosen for the Dutch, Japanese, Royal Airforce and Royal Navy Lightning’s are the ones that will operate the Lightning first for those particular countries. I couldn’t find any information for the rest so I’ve taken an (un)educated guess. Includes the following skins: Level 1 Partners. United Kingdom: -F-35B Royal Air Force No. 617 Squadron 'Dam Busters.' -F-35B Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm 809 Naval Squadron. -F-35B Royal Navy/ Royal Air Force 'Joint Force Lightning' - No squadron markings (like the GR.7/9 Joint Force Harrier Aircraft). -F-35B Royal Navy/ Royal Air Force 'Joint Force Lightning' - With dual squadron markings. Level 2 Partners. Italy: -F-35A Italian Air Force 6 Stormo 154 Gruppo. -F-35B Italian Naval Aviation 1 Gurpaer. Netherlands: -F-35A Royal Netherlands Air Force 322 Squadron 'Polly Parrot'. Level 3 Partners. Australia: -F-35A Royal Australian Air Force No. 3 Squadron. Canada: -F-35A Royal Canadian Air Force 409 Nighthawks Squadron. Denmark: -F-35A Royal Danish Air Force skadrille 726 "Phantom". Norway: -F-35A Royal Norwegian Air Force 332 skv 'Eagle.' Turkey: -F-35A Turkish Air Force 132. Filo Hancer. Security Cooperative Participants (SCP). Israel: -F-35A Israeli Air Force No. 116 Flying Wing Squadron. Export Orders. Japan: -F-35A Japan Air Self Defence Force 301 Squadron. South Korea: -F-35A Republic of Korea Air Force 152th FS / 17th FW. Potential exports. Belgium: -F-35A Belgian Air Component 1ère Escadrille "Chardons." Greece: -F-35A Hellenic Air Force 336th Bomber Squadron. Spain: -F-35B Spanish Navy Air Arm (Armada Española) 9ª Ella. Fictional 'What If' orders. New Zealand: -F-35A Royal New Zealand Air Force No. 75 Squadon. -F-35B Royal New Zealand Navy No. 6 Squadron. There is a screenshot of each skin here: http://combatace.com/topic/83069-f-35ab-lightning-ii-international-operators-skin-pack-wip/?p=668077 Also included is a modified pilot skin. Instillation Instructions: -1 If you don't alraedy have it you will need to install 'F-35A/B/C Lightning II V 2.5 for SF2' http://combatace.com/files/file/9051-f-35abc-lightning-ii-v-25-for-sf2/ -2 Delete any old International skins from your F-35A or F-35B folders as they might have the same name etc. -3 Extract files then copy and paste the objects folder into your mods folder. 9. File Name: [Fictional] English Electric Lightning F.3S Flygvapnet File Submitter: Spinners File Submitted: 20 October 2012 File Category: What If Hangar English Electric Lightning F.3S for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 to create a fictional export version in service with the equally fictional 'Acro Blixt' aerobatic display team (based on the real world Acro Deltas) of the Swedish Flygvapnet. This little update simply introduces a regular squadron (F13) and adds a screenshot. It goes without saying that you must have the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 in your install meaning that you must have Expansion Pack 2 for Strike Fighters 2 Europe. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_ACRO folder into you main Pilots folder. 4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Rb22 & Rb25 folders into your main Weapons folder. CREDITS Thanks to TK and Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 13. View File [Fictional] BAC Lightning F.53H BAC Lightning F.53H for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Lightning F.53 to give a fictional Lightning F.53H of the Hungarian Air Force. BACKSTORY The revolutions of 1989 generally had a domino effect across Eastern Europe and Hungary soon followed Poland and in March 1989 the government bravely declared the anniversary of the 1848 Revolution a national holiday and this was soon followed by the reburial of former Prime Minister Imre Nagy (executed after the 1956 Revolution) and calls for Soviet forces to leave Hungary. Popular opposition to the Communist regime continued, eventually leading to Mátyás Szurös declaring Hungary a republic on October 23rd, 1989 and the free elections of March 1990. However. with Soviet forces withdrawing fast the Hungarian Air Force (Magyar Légiero) was soon short of equipment and spares and when the Soviet MiG-29's departed from Tokol in 1991 the air defence of Hungary rested with literally a handful of poorly maintained MiG-21's. During the late 1980's British Aerospace had bought back many of the surviving Saudi Lightning F.53's and had hoped to sell them to Austria (whose air force were hard-pressed to intercept a business jet) but the deal fell through and the Lightnings had continued to lanquish at Warton prompting a tentative offer to sell them to Hungary at a knock-down price. In May 1991 the UK Government bought 26 of the ex-Saudi Lightning F.53's and gifted them to the Hungarian Air Force in a move believed to have orchestrated by President George H. Bush. Arriving in August 1991 the Lightnings were operated by the 59th Tactical Fighter Wing at Kecskemét AFB and served until 1998 when they were replaced by MiG-29's donated from Germany and Poland. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF53H folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF53H folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. View File [Fictional] BAC Lightning F.6N 'NATO' BAC Lightning F.6N for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:Europe This mod is meant for those without the Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 (for Strike Fighters 2 Europe) and is a simple mod of Russouk2004's superb BAC Lightning F.Mk6 from the SF1 archives to give a fictional F.6N (N for NATO) in service with four NATO air forces (Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and the UK) in a 1966 to 1988 timeline. Unfortunately, the 3D model has some issues with decal bleed on the vertical tail and also with shadow 'ropes' but I've elected to leave shadows ON. I've had a play with the FM by pasting in some Third Wire Lightning DNA including adding 'ghost' outer wings to allow for this 3D model having a one-piece wing whereas the Third Wire Lightning has a two-piece wing and I've also fiddled with the mass fractions to distribute the weight. It flies really nice and will perform a 'hands free' take-off (flaps down, throttle up, brakes off) with the usual ability to supercruise and climb supersonicly. As this mod is meant for those without the Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 I've used the pit from the stock F-4B Phantom. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF6N folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF6N folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop both files into your Sounds folder. Bingo Fuel! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Massive thanks to Russouk2004 for creating the Lightning F.Mk6 a real British thoroughbred. Thanks also to Sundowner for the silver/NMF Lightning skin used for all eight skins with tail markings pasted on top by yours truly. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - January 28th, 2024 Submitter Spinners Submitted 04/03/2010 Category What If Hangar
