  3. File Name: DH Osprey B.II File Submitter: Stratos File Submitted: 28 July 2017 File Category: What If Hangar De Havilland Osprey B.II by Cocas (what if...) 28/07/2017 Some time ago I requested some updates to the original Osprey by Cocas, a refuelling probe, airbrakes, antenna on the fuselage... cocas made the mod and I made a new skin for strategical use with the RAF in AntiFlash white. As the Osprey B.II does not differ wildly from the I, I retained the original readme and completed with some historical background. As the plane was never used on the desert being based only in UK and Germany, I not included the desert scheme, but the one in the original Osprey will work. For the Malvinas campaign, the green euro cammo should be used. Model by cocas, new antiflash white skin by Stratos on cocas template, decals by Spinners. Thanks a lot guys! Background: Following the exit of the first version of the new De Havilland bird, the RAF aproached De Havilland with a request for a improved variant with Strategic bombing as its designed mission. The requirements were clear, a better range, a refuelling probe and a long range communication radio. De Havilland felt it was pretty easy to complete the task, as the requested features were already imagined for the Osprey, and added another one, big air brakes on the wings. the refuelling probe was a bit more complicated, as it was tested first on the starboard wing, but it was hard to use in flying, specially in bad weather conditions, so a reuleing probe over the cockpit was installed and tested. It came with the risk of spilling gas on the cockpit glass, but simplified the refueling maneuvers a lot, so it was finally selected as the choosen one. The new communication array was based on a dorsal antenna and new radio equipment to be controlled by the copilot, as the plane retained the three man crew. Finally bigger fuel tanks were installed and the new brakes air tested, those brakes improved maneuvers and shortened the landing run quite a bit, and then the prototype was sent to the RAF for testing. Plane was well liked by its crews and the RAf operated 49 of the birs in the nuclear bomber role, both based on UK and in RAf stations in Germany. During the first years the Osprey B.II used the classic Anti Flash white scheme, before converting to a regular cammo scheme as it was seen in the Malvinas campaign before retirement. On the following pics, we can see a recently delivered Osprey B.II in anti flash white belonging to the squadron flying low over the Mach Loop in Wales, training for low level nuclear attack runs on Warsaw Pact targets. 9. File Name: 'What if' KAW Hawker Hunter F.1 with Campiagn File Submitter: dtmdragon File Submitted: 02 March 2015 File Category: What If Hangar 'What if' KAW Hawker Hunter F.1A & F.1B with campiagn 1.0 The back story: In order to meet the Mig-15 threat over Korea and with no capable fighters currently in the RAF inventory the British Ministry of Supply instructs Hawker Aviation to undertake a crash production program of its P.1067 fighter. Project ‘Huntsman’. In less than a year since the prototype flew and two years ahead of schedule the Hawker Hunter is deployed to the Korean Theatre in early 1952. Since the Hunter F.1 designation was already assigned to the first full production Hunters due into service in 1954, the Hunters produced under program ‘Huntsman’ are (unusually) designated Hunter F.1A These aircraft are basically identical to the future production Hunter F.1 the most obvious difference being that they are finished in High Speed Silver. However the lack of paint means these Hunters are 21 Mph faster and 53Kg lighter than the full production F.1 Hunters. Operations over Korea immediately highlighted the Hunters inherent shortcomings. Of most concern was its lack of fuel and endurance with barely an hour’s flight time. Also of concern was the damage done to the fuselage caused by the ejection of spent cartridge links. These concerns (among others) would be addressed in time by future models of the Hunter, but in the skies of Korea in 1952 the lack of range and endurance had to be immediately mitigated. And thus the Hunter F.1B is born with the addition of wing mounted drop tanks installed in theatre. What's in it: - Hawker Hunter F.1A - Hawker Hunter F.1B - Various RAF 43 and 222 Squadron Skins in Camo and High Speed Silver. - NOTE: The camo skins are included as a bonus but the aircraft data.ini files are set up to reflect the high speed silver skins as I have included the weight reduction and increased speed that comes without using camo paint. I found the figures I used in an article about the trial OD green Sabres in Korea. - sounds - pilot - Modified Korea Campaign using the Hunters. This will not change the original campaign in any way, you will see an additional campaign called 'Korean War Hunters Over Korea' that you can select. Missions will be similar to the Sabre, No 43 Squadron is based at Suwon AB (K-13) and No. 222 Squadron at Kimpo AB (K-14). - NOTE: this mod can be added to the Wings Over Korea mod without any change what so ever to the original game play. You will never see these Hunters show up over Korea unless you play the above included campaign or start a single mission with a Hunter. Operations: - canopy open key=10 automatic closing at take off To Install: - Designed to be used with the Wings Over Korea mod but should work without it. - Put everything in you main StrikeFighters2 KAW mods folder - Get the Wings Over Korea mod here: http://combatace.com/files/file/15221-wings-over-korea-1-of-2/ http://combatace.com/files/file/15220-wings-over-korea-2-of-2/ Credits: - Third Wire - Paulopanz Hunter F.1 Skins & Edits for SF2 - Sundowner Hunter F6 Templates. - Do335 Wings Over Korea - Evryone else in the WOK/ KAW team Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. You should unzip the file and preview the new screens before installing them. I recommend doing this as there are MANY alternate screens I have in there that you might like better. If you choose to install these screens, I recommend that you back up (make a copy of) your FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders in the SF2 Mod folder you're installing this mod into. Just in case you want to go back to your original setup. To install, simply unzip and copy the uncompressed FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder. To remove, simply delete the FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders and rename the copies you made to FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders. My StrikeFighter2 mod on Win97 64-bit would be something like... 15. Greetings all, I am not sure where to post the link to my website, so I will post it here. I have been creating a website over the past year devoted to military aircraft of all nations with a focus on World War 2 and Korea. Time permitting, I want to include World War 1 and Vietnam along with modern jets. It is a hobby. I did this, even with Wikipedia having detailed information about everything on everything since man first walked the earth, in a method for the new generation of kids who are developing an interest in historical air combat. I keep each page brief, though I provide specifications to each plane, along with a brief history of development and use of each aircraft. Also a 3 view plan and a color 3 view of each aircraft is supplied. While nowhere as in depth as wikipedia, I am hoping that my site is helpful to those people who just want chapter and verse, not the whole book(however, links to books at Amazon and to POD shops help fund the expenses of the website). I hope you find my site useful. Thanks BasilBarfly http://www.warintheskies.com

  17. File Name: Multinational Speech Pack File Submitter: thereg File Submitted: 16 November 2012 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Objects Multinational Speech pack version 1.0 for Strike Fighters 2 SHould work on any type of SF2 installation. This is a compilation of speech packs brought together by me from original files mainly made for IL-2 Sturmovik and released as part of DBW. Due to the limited phrases available, it is intended more for immersion than for accuracy. I can't claim any credit for the actual recording, but I did some re-editing and re-processing to better bring the files in line with SF2. I've also included a re-processed version of Gramps' Russian Speech Pack available on Combatace. BE WARNED: If you speak any of these languages you may not enjoy how they fit into the game. For the most part I tried to find phrases that fit the different SF2 files in general meaning, but they are far from perfect, and a few are actually just random. You may want to turn on subtitles, at least until you get used to the different phrases. Special note to my fellow New Zealanders: I humbly apologise for lumping us in with the Aussies, but it was the closest I could get ;-) ----------------------------- Credits and huge thanks: Original files provided as part of the awesome Dark Blue World mod from SAS.com for IL-2: RAF NZandAus French German Italy ------------------------- Originals from GONVISE for IL2: Spain ---------------------------- Originals from Azrael-WT, TIGERLIU, CrazyDog, Northeastern Panda, Liu MM, TIGERLIU, bwhorse, treefanweijia, llb00825, bwhorse for IL2: China -------------- Originals from EECH and first converted by Richard "Gramps" Kaminski: Russian ---------------- As for the Arabic, I actually can't remember where I got them from, but thanks to whoever made them. Installation: Place whichever pack you desire into the Speech sub-folder of your main mod folder eg: ...username/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2 Europe/Speech/German then go to the flight folder and open the NATIONS.ini file to edit whatever nationality you want to use that particular language. Making sure to use the EXACT same spelling as the folder you're pointing to. eg: [Nation008] Name=WGermany DisplayName=German Luftwaffe Alignment=FRIENDLY PilotNameList=NamesGerman.lst RankList=RanksGAF.lst CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst Formation.Fighter=USFighter Formation.Attack=USFighter Formation.Bomber=USBomber Formation.Transport=USBomber Formation.Tank=USTank Formation.MobileAD=USAD PilotTrainingStandard=NORMAL GenderRatio=0 DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav SpeechFile=German <------edit this line SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.str StartDate=1956 [Nation017] Name=EGermany DisplayName=East German Air Force Alignment=ENEMY PilotNameList=NamesGerman.lst RankList=RanksUSAF.lst CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst Formation.Fighter=SovietFighter Formation.Attack=SovietFighter Formation.Bomber=SovietBomber Formation.Transport=SovietBomber Formation.Tank=SovietTank Formation.MobileAD=SovietAD PilotTrainingStandard=NORMAL GenderRatio=0 DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav SpeechFile=German <------------------and again SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.str ActiveDate=1959 AlternateDecal=EGermany_OLD55 StartDate=1956 EndDate=1990 It's as easy as that. Multinational Speech pack version 1.0 for Strike Fighters 2 SHould work on any type of SF2 installation. 19. Sixty Squadron RAF Needs Your Help

Hello,I work on Sixty Squadron, RAF. We're a Bell 412/Griffin outfit based at Shawbury, England. You may fly some of our WWI aircraft! Right now i'm making a series of framed prints reflecting the squadron's illustrious history BUT World War I needs to come alive for our students - and I think I can make that happen by printing some screenshots of Sixty Sqn aircraft, mounting and framing them. They will then be passed every day by staff, students and visitors. Would you like to help? I've found a Morane Sauliner N in Sixty colors on this forum but cannot upload it here because I'm on a work PC. These are the aircraft I'm looking for, but they must be in Sixties colors.... Nieuport 16/17 Spad S VIII Morane Parasol Morane Type BB SE5/SE5A You can post them here (as I am able download), or email me at shy-dhfs60qhci010@mod.uk thanks for any help you can give, and remember, your screenshot could end up on our wall! View File [Fictional] Dassault Mirage F.1A (RAF) Dassault Mirage F.1A for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Mirage 3C to give a fictional export version for the Royal Air Force with markings for No.56, No.74 and No.111 squadrons of Fighter Command (all famous users of the contemporary and equally gorgeous Lightning). N.B. This mod has been tested in a fully merged install and, in particular, uses the Lightning gunsight from Expansion Pack 2. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MirageF1A folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MirageF1A folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 22. View File Boeing B-52K Stratofortress B.1 Boeing B-52K Stratofortress B.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock (non-flyable) Third Wire B-52K to give a fictional and flyable B-52K Stratofortress B.1 in service with No.9 Squadron attached to RAF South East Asia Command. Also included are fictional 'Flail' and 'Flambard' bombs with Flail being especially useful against soft-skin targets (or fuel tanks if you get tasked against these in Strike missions) and Flambard being a particularly nasty incendiary bomb. You can, of course, convert it to use nukes but bombing from 12,000m with conventional ordnance is a real challenge but great fun. As we don't have a proper B-52 pit you'll have to make do with the one supplied or go your own way and I mainly prefer to fly this one with cockpit toggle off. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the B-52K folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the B-52K folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the FLAIL and FLAMBARD folders into your weapons folder. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 27/05/2020 Version 1 - 02/06/2011 Submitter Spinners Submitted 06/02/2011 Category What If Hangar
