Saab 37 Viggen(*) by The Scandinavian Front & Friends. The Saab 37 Viggen ("Thunderbolt", ambiguous with "Tufted duck") is a Swedish single-seat, single-engine, short-medium range combat aircraft, manufactured between 1970 and 1990. Several distinctive variants were produced to perform the roles of strike fighter (AJ37), maritime patrol aircraft (SH 37) and all-weather fighter-interceptor aircraft (JA 37). In the late 1990s, all Viggens was updated to the multirole version (AJS 37). The last flight with the Viggen (AJS 37, AJSH & SK 37E Jammers) was done in 2005 with all airplanes replaced by the Saab 39 Gripen. This package contains Four Flyable and One AI Aircraft Saab AJ 37 Viggen Attack version with limited fighter capacity. In service between 1971 and 1998. This aircraft carried the now-famous splinter camo that is the dread of skinners and model makers worldwide. Saab JA 37 Viggen Fighter version introduced in 1980 with new engine, entirely different avionics and an internal gun. Stayed in service until 2004 when it was replaced with the Saab 39 Gripen. Saab JA 37D Viggen Upgraded JA 37 with RB 99 Amraam capacity introduced in 1997. All was taken out of service in 2004. Saab AJS 37 Viggen The last and most capable version with lessions learned from the JAS 39 Program. 48 Viggens was updated to this standard and they stayed in service from 1991 to 2005. Saab SH 37 Viggen (AI Only) Maritime Patrol Version with potent attack capacity against maritime targets. In Service from 1975 to 1996. INSTALLATION: Download this package and unzip into a folder of your choice, preferably one easy to access. Visit the DAT site and download their Viggen package. You will only need the Cockpit folder as well as the LOD and OUT files. The airplane will not work without them. Move the Cockpit Folder and the LOD and OUT files from the DAT package into this unextracted package - Viggen R3 goes into the JA 37 and AJS 37 Folders; Viggen R1 into the AJ 37 and SH 37 Folders. Copy the package into your Mod Folder. Have fun. CONDITIONS FOR USE: No Improvements, facts, weapons, scripts or data added by the TSF Team may be hosted on any other site then CombatAce without written permission by JonathanRL. For mods posted to CombatAce, no conditions apply (though Credit is of course appreciated) and the Modders Gentlements Agreement is in effect. Any breach of these conditions may result in consequences as TSF see fit and as the situation dictates. Credits: 3D model by Anders Lejczak @ ColaCola.se, used with his written permission. 2. Version Patch 2

PLEASE BE AWARE; This release of TSF 2 is unpolished and is to be considered a Beta version. In short, there will be bugs and not all of them have been found. Unless things change significantly, there will not be more releases. Please read the letter below to understand why. If you just want the SK 60 or the Saab 37 Viggen - look in the Aircraft section. If not posted there, they will be posted there shortly. A letter from the Project Leader: My name is Jonathan and I am the project leader of The Scandinavian Front. I want to apologize that I will not be living up to the vision I had for The Scandinavian Front. The reason for this is because between my new full time job and all my other projects, TSF 2 fell by the wayside. This is not fair to TSF nor is it fair to you. This is to be considered a Beta release. It has bugs. The Campaigns have not been fully balanced. But it is a playground that you can play around with - just like always. But this will be the Final Release of TSF 2. I sat down one too many times trying to make it perfect and I will have to accept that TSF 2 may never be. Maybe some day I will sit down and release a patch to bring it up to speed. But today is not that day. I want to thank all the fans of TSF 2 for their support during this time. It has been invaluble. I also want to thank AngelP, Stary, Ravenclaw and my mate Paulopanz who have been there for me to make this mod what it is today. Without them, I could never have made this dream. Do not blame them for the unpolished state of this release, they gave me their all and I am very grateful. FEATURES Fly and fight with Aircraft from the Scandinavian Air Forces, including the legendary Saab lineup of aircraft in combat against the Soviet Union in multiple scenarios from 1950 to 2014. Campaigns include several intensive conflicts, training missions and a virtual museum allowing you to follow a Swedish Flottilj for most of its history! Now at last - Saab SK60 and Saab 37 Viggen are avalible to fly in TSF 2 alongside - for the first time - Soviet Aircraft in service of the fictionalFinno-Soviet Republic! More AI Aircraft to fly with or against! Updated Terrain Tiles, Weapons and Menu Screens. Optimized code; unused and outdated assets removed. Installation: This mod requires SF2: Europe. SF2 North Atlantic, Expansion Pack 1 and DLC 008 J 34 Hawker Hunter is highly recommended. Please be aware that without SF2 North Atlantic, at least two Campaigns will be unavalible. First of all, make sure you are using SF2: Europe and that it is patched to the latest version. This is _vital_. Check Thirdwire.com if you are unsure what the latest patch is, but the game should notify you if there is new patches out. Delete ANY PRIOR TSF MOD INSTALLATION! This is vital as items has been renamed, moved or otherwise changed. If you are using a mod, or plan to use one, TSF will mess around with settings other mods may be using. As such, creating a seperate mod folder for TSF is a good idea. If you only plan to use TSF, then this step can be bypassed. Go to your installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2). Make a copy of Strike Fighters 2.exe / Strike Fighters 2 Europe.exe depending on what you prefer and got installed. Name the Copy Strike Fighters 2 TSF.exe . Start your new .exe once, then close the game. Now go to your Mod Folders. For Windows 7/Vista, this is located in C:\Users\Name\Saved Games\Thirdwire. For Windows XP Users, it is usually in My Documents. Download ALL THE FILES into THE SAME FOLDER and Unzip TSF2_Final from TSF2_FinalPack.7z.001. You need 7z or Winrar to do this. Unzip the contents of the 7zip files "TSF2_Final" into the mod folder of your choice. If you do not own Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic, then unzip "Unzip if you do not have SF NA.7z". Read the Readme included and follow it to the letter. If you own Strike Figthers 2 Expansion Pack 1, unzip "Install if you do not have SF NA.7z". Allow any overwrites. If you own DLC 008 J 34 Hawker Hunter, unzip "Install if you have DLC 008 J 34 Hawker Hunter.7z". Allow any overwrites. If you own DLC 028, unzip "Install_if_you_have_DLC28.7z". Allow any overwrites. (Please read the included Credits file. I could not do what I do without the lovely people who helped me by allowing me to use their work!)

  7. View File F-39A/B Griffin Blk 1/5 - Gripen NG for the US Gripen NG for the United States – F-39A/B Griffin Blk 1/5 1.0 Due to a change in US government policy driven by cost overruns, project delays and negative public (aka voter) opinion the USAF F-35A order is halved. To make up the shortfall a cheaper 4.5 generation aircraft is sought to replace the rest of the F-16 fleet. New built F-16s are considered but ultimately a license built US specific version of the Gripen NG is chosen. To help offset the loss of the cancelled F-35 order Lockheed Martin is awarded the contract to build the F-39 along with the US specific modifications. The most important of which is full data/ sensor integration and cooperative war fighting with the F-35A fleet. The USAF designate the US built Gripen the F-39A/B Griffin. The first Block 1 Griffins off the Lockheed Martin production line are identical to the JAS-39E/F and equip CONUS Air National Guard units to replace the F-16 in the air sovereignty role. At the same time Lockheed Martin produce a handful of developmental airframes to integrate the full USAF arsenal of weapons and apply some of the technology from the F-35 program. The probe air-to-air refuelling system is also replaced with a flying boom receptacle. The end result is the F-39A/B Block 5 which is used to replace the F-16 in those USAF units that are not going to be equipped with the F-35A. The Block 5 Griffin is fully compatible with the F-35 and shares the same data link technology. This means Griffin equipped units can be used cost effectively in the low intensity warfare role but when required can be ‘force multiplied’ by the F-35A in a modern battlefield. All Block 1 aircraft will be upgraded to Block 5 standard. Included in this mod are: - F-39A Block 1 Griffin - F-39B Block 1 Griffin - F-39A Block 5 Griffin - F-39B Block 5 Griffin - F-39A Block 5 Griffin Aggressor - F-39B Block 5 Griffin Aggressor - 14 different USAF/ANG squadrons - 22 different skins To Install simply un pack and drop into your mods folder. Notes: - The Block 1 aircraft have a reduced weapons capability compared the Block 5 as they can only carry the weapons currently cleared on the Jas-39 Gripin (Aim-9M, Aim-120C etc) this is reflected in the loadout.ini. - The pilot is a re-skinned JHMCS model to look like the Cobra HMD that is integrated with the Gripin (see last screenshot below). - F-39B Block 5 Aggressor has a cannon even though the two seater doesn’t have one. This is for game play so it will engage you as an aggressor aircraft. Credits: -Gux Column5 Moonjumper Jat CadeteBRA Ianh755 Stipe The Viper Team ravenclaw_007 Enjoy, Dan. P.S. Gripen NG for the United States – F-39A/B Griffin Blk 1/5 1.0 Due to a change in US government policy driven by cost overruns, project delays and negative public (aka voter) opinion the USAF F-35A order is halved. P.S. 11. File Name: TSF Saab 18 Flygvapnet Package File Submitter: JonathanRL File Submitted: 06 January 2016 File Category: Other Saab 18 by The Scandinavian Front & Friends. The SAAB 18 was a twin-engine bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, designed and built for use by the Swedish Air Force by Svenska Aeroplan AB (SAAB) in response to a 1938 design competition. Due to delays, it did not enter service until 1944, but quickly became the standard Swedish bomber aircraft. Serving in the bomber, reconnaissance and ground-attack roles, it also assisted in the development of ejection seats and air-to-surface guided missiles until its replacement by the Saab Lansen in the late 1950s. This package contains two Flyable Aircraft. Saab B 18B An upgraded version of the B 18A powered by the Daimler-Benz Engine. Saw most use during the post-war years. Armed with 1x 20mm BOFORS Cannon and a 13mm BOFORS Machinegun. The aircraft is equipped with a bomb sight. Saab T 18B Torpedo & Maritime Patrol Aircraft, first planned to carry a torpedo. As no suitable torpedo was found, the aircraft was redesigned as a ground attack aircraft with a 57mm BOFORS Cannon replacing the bomb bay alongside the Cannon and Machinegun as well as rockets and smaller bombs. The Aircraft is equipped with a bomb sight. INSTALLATION: Install it into the Mod Folder of you choice. Have fun! Installation: Unzip the entire package into your mod folder, usually Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 or similar. Information: The Sea Gripen is Saabs take on a Carrier Borne Fighter, based off their Saab Gripen NG Project. It was however some ideas that the C version also would be an ideal platform for navies with smaller Carriers as a gap-filler until the Gripen NG entered the market. The idea has since been scrapped. However, this is the What-If Section and since we like Saab does not have a Gripen NG (E/F) available, we made one off the Gripen-C instead. Good Gripen-C Templates are included and free for use. This package contains one Aircraft with five skins, correct serials, nation-specific loadouts and correct weapons. Saab Demonstrator: Two made, modified from Swedish Air Force Gripen-Cs. Initally built as a proof-of-concept but then transferred for demonstrations and practical trials. First naval operation trials was made on the USS George H.W Bush during 2012. Alongside the many details in the contract, Saab retained the right to the US Navy Digital Camo for use upon the airframe. Official demonstrations of these Aircraft is said to have been boosted by Saabs decision to give out free copies of The Scandinavian Front during air shows. Swedish Air Force: The Swedish Air Force, in a frenzy to find new budget cuts for their Armed Forces decided to refit a Wing of Fighters from the Gripen-C to the Sea Gripen-C instead of upgrading them to the Gripen NG. The wing was then activated in 2014 as part of the Swedish Air Force Rapid Reaction Force where Carrier Landings in NATO Operations may be a requirement. The wing is based at F 21 Luleå and have access to the USS Queen Elizabeth for Carrier Training for their pilots. Brazilian Naval Avitation: The Brazilian Navy was the first nation to adopt the Aircraft for their navy, making the development of the Aircraft a requirement for the later approval of the Gripen NG Contract. VF-1 recived the Aircraft and begun training in 2014 and declared themselves operation for duty on the A 12 Sao Paulo in early 2016, making a flyover at the Olympic Games. Brazil has scored most kills with their Gripens, shooting down dozens of Drug Smuggling Aircraft and boats every month. Indian Fleet Air Arm: Following the defence paper of 2011, the carrier INS Viraat was to be decomissioned in 2020. However, without the Sea Harriers, she had been reduced to a Helicopter Carrier. Doubting both the Gripen NGs and the Rafaeles capacity to land upon her decks, the Sea Gripen-C was tested and subsequently bought 20 aircraft with a requirement for a quick delivery. The Indian Navy has expressed interest to retain the INS Viraat for a longer period of time, satisfied with the combination. Royal Navy: Following the near-crash-and-recovery of the F-35 Project saw the Royal Navy reducing the ammount of Aircraft to equip their Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers with. In order to retain maximum value for the Carriers built, the F-35B entered a Fleet Defence and offensive air combat role with the Gripen-C with both low purchase and operating costs deemed the best alternative. The 801th Naval Air Squadron with battle honours from world war II, Korea and the Falklands was reactivated to fly the aircraft, putting them in the front line for Britannic Security Policy once again. The Royal Navy is pleased with the Aircraft and has expressed interest to upgrade to the Gripen NG in the 2020s. Credits: Gripen-C 3D Model by Gux, updated by CadetteBra.
