File Name: LST-1179 Newport class landing ship File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 12 April 2015 File Category: Cargo and Transports This model represents the Newport class, a large tank landing ship designed for the US Navy. The class features a unique bow ramp, allowing vehicles to be loaded and unloaded more quickly and easily than other LST designs. Twenty Newports were built, and they served in the USN from 1969, with the last being decomissioned in 2002. Most of them were then sold to foreign navies, including Australia, Brazil, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Spain, and Taiwan. The Newport class is armed with two twin 3" gun turrets, plus a Phalanx CIWS following a 1980s refit. They can carry up to 30 heavy vehicles and 400 infantry. Note: Australia's Kanimbla class will require extensive modifications to the model and will be included in a separate package. See the readme for full details. File Name: Multinational Speech Pack File Submitter: thereg File Submitted: 16 November 2012 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Objects Multinational Speech pack version 1.0 for Strike Fighters 2 SHould work on any type of SF2 installation. This is a compilation of speech packs brought together by me from original files mainly made for IL-2 Sturmovik and released as part of DBW. Due to the limited phrases available, it is intended more for immersion than for accuracy. I can't claim any credit for the actual recording, but I did some re-editing and re-processing to better bring the files in line with SF2. I've also included a re-processed version of Gramps' Russian Speech Pack available on Combatace. BE WARNED: If you speak any of these languages you may not enjoy how they fit into the game. For the most part I tried to find phrases that fit the different SF2 files in general meaning, but they are far from perfect, and a few are actually just random. You may want to turn on subtitles, at least until you get used to the different phrases.
