View File [Fictional] Mikoyan MiG-21bis Parani Air Force Mikoyan MiG-21bis 'Paran' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire MiG-21bis to create a fictional export version in service with the Parani Air Force during 1978-2002. The skin is by Paulopanz and I've added a matching drop tank and a fictional Parani missile named 'Zulfiqar' (basically a license-built version of the R.550 Matra Magic) with a matching skin. It goes without saying that you must have the stock MiG-21bis in your install but the skin could be renamed to fit most other stock MiG-21's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisP folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisP folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_PARAN folder into you main Pilots folder. 4. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the SOVIET_DRY and SOVIET_WET files into your main Sounds folder. 5. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the TANK_MiG21BISP and ZULFIQAR folders into your main Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Paulopanz for the excellent camo skin. Thanks to Paladrian for the MiG-21 pit. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. File Name: [Fictional] English Electric Lightning F.3S Flygvapnet File Submitter: Spinners File Submitted: 20 October 2012 File Category: What If Hangar English Electric Lightning F.3S for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 to create a fictional export version in service with the equally fictional 'Acro Blixt' aerobatic display team (based on the real world Acro Deltas) of the Swedish Flygvapnet. It goes without saying that you must have the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 in your install meaning that you must have Expansion Pack 2 for Strike Fighters 2 Europe. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_ACRO folder into you main Pilots folder. 4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Rb22 & Rb25 folders into your main Weapons folder. 5. View File [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas F-4EZ Phantom McDonnell Douglas F-4EZ Phantom for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-4E_78 to create a fictional South African Air Force F-4EZ Phantom in service with No.2 Squadron in the following schemes and timeframes; 1. 1979-1981 A 'Mirage F.1CZ' style scheme with tricolour fin and 'Springbok' national markings. 2. 1982-2002 As above but with the later style of national markings. 3. 2003-2012 Final Grey scheme with toned-down national markings. It goes without saying that you must have the F-4E_78 LOD's in your install and you'll also need the Mirage 3CZ DLC for the V3B Kukri and serial number decals although there are some easy workarounds if you don't. The idea for this 'what if' came from Stratos who created the 'Mirage F.1CZ' style skin whilst I did the tank skins, decals and packaging so it's an Anglo-Spanish joint venture and we hope that you enjoy it! BACKSTORY During the mid-1970's the South African Government made tentative enquiries regarding purchasing the McDonnell Douglas Phantom for the South African Air Force (SAAF) with no success but in February 1977 the incoming Democrat President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, and the South African State President Nicolaas Diederichs agreed to the purchase of 30 F-4EZ's for delivery in 1979 and these were among the very last St. Louis-built Phantoms produced. Entering service with No.2 Squadron 'The Flying Cheetahs' of the SAAF the F-4EZ's initially operated from Hoedspruit AFB before moving to Louis Trichardt AFB in early 1993. With SAAF Impalas, Buccaneers and Mirage F.1CZ's operating in the ground-attack role the Phantoms saw limited action in the Border War but at least four Angolan MiG-21's and two Mi-17 helicopters were shot down by No.2 Squadron. The surviving F-4EZ's were finally retired in 2019 when they replaced by Eurofighter Typhoons. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4EZ folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4EZ folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the V3B4 folder into your main Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Muchas gracias to Stratos for the superb SAAF 'Mirage F.1CZ' style skin created with a little bit of help from Ludo on SAAF colours and Sundowner's legendary F-4E templates - thanks guys! 9. View File Harbin H-5 (Chinese Il-28 Beagle) Harbin H-5 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire Il-28 'Beagle' to create the reverse engineered Harbin H-5 copy. As the PLAAF also operated the Il-28 I've set the service dates to match those given for the stock Third Wire Il-28 (for China) but the Chinese H-5 programme was a slow starter and it didn't enter service until 1967. Generic markings with new serial numbers based on the photo of '83002' with a painted radome are included and please note that this mod uses Wrench's F-4B pit for pasko's Yak-25B 'Brewer' so it should work with any version of SF2 that has medium length runways. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the H-5 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the H-5 folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_PLAAF folder into your main Pilots folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Wrench for the Brewer cockpit. Gabilon created his Yak-41 in 2007 (his first 3D model - Chapeau!) and Fubar512 improved the FM and those improvements are duly incorporated here along with a few modifications by me. Three new Ukrainian skins are included; 1. Ukrainian Naval Aviation in a blue splinter scheme for maritime operations. 2. 13. View File [Fictional] Lockheed F-104E Starfighter 'ANG' Lockheed F-104E for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional USAF F-104E with markings for; 112th TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme. 162nd TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme. 198th TFS of the Puerto Rico ANG in a 'T.O. 1-1-4' style scheme. It goes without saying that you must have the F-104G LOD's in your install. BACKSTORY Whilst, officially, USAF interest in the F-104 programme began to ebb (leading to only 77 F-104C's being built) they kept a watchful eye on Lockheed's progress into transforming the original hot-rod interceptor fighter into a multi-mission tactical fighter for export to selected 'free world' nations. As negotiations with Federal Germany reached a critical phase in 1958 concern was expressed by the Bonn government that Lockheed were attempting to sell an aircraft no longer wanted by it's home nation. Lockheed cleverly took these concerns back to Washington and claimed that lucrative export orders were at jeopardy leading to a token order for a new version of the Starfighter for the USAF. Designated F-104E this new version broadly represented a halfway house between the F-104C and the forthcoming F-104G. Only 60 F-104E's were planned to be produced but the success of the F-104C flown by Capt Charles E. Tofferi in the 1962 William Tell tactical weapons meet, against strong competition from F-100 and F-105 pilots, led to continued low-rate production followed by a larger batch of 240 F-104E's making an eventual total of 336. F-104E's were deployed to Vietnam and surviving aircraft were refurbished for ANG use with the type being finally retired in 1988 when the 112th TFS re-equipped with F-16A's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your main Decals folder. That's it! That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Bobrock for uploading his superb F-104G templates to the community. 15. View File [Fictional] Douglas A-4D Skyhawk 'USAF' Douglas A-4D Skyhawk 'USAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire A-4E to give a fictional USAF A-4D with markings for the 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron ('The Silver Knights') in 1967 although the service years are a more generous 1964 to 1985. BACKSTORY During the Spring of 1961 the incoming Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara left no stone unturned in his search for efficiencies in procurement and operational costs and his attention soon turned to the successful Douglas A4D 'Skyhawk' programme. Douglas had already transformed their 'bantam bomber' by replacing the Curtiss-Wright J65 engine with the Pratt & Whitney J52-P6A engine and the forthcoming A4D-5 (A-4E) version was chosen as the baseline for a minimum-change version for the USAF. Designated A-4D (after the introduction of the tri-service designation system) the USAF Skyhawks saw extensive service at home and abroad and, in particular, served with distinction in Vietnam where they replaced a variety of tactical aircraft. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your main Decals folder. That's it!
