Following their replacement in the air defence role by the Mirage 2000, the French Air Force had a number of surplus Mirage F1C-200s, and in 1988 it launched a conversion programme to turn these aircraft into interim ground attack aircraft to replace elderly Mirage IIIEs and Mirage Vs. The Mirage F1CT program brought the avionics of the F1C up to the standard of the F1CR, with the radar upgraded with the additional air-to-ground modes of the Cyrano IVM-R, an improved navigation/attack system fitted, with a laser rangefinder fitted under the nose. It was fitted with new Mk 10 ejection seats, while improved radar detection and warning devices, chaff/flare dispensers, and secure radios were also added. It gained the ability to carry a variety of air-to-ground weapons, including rockets, cluster bombs and laser-guided bombs, while retaining the F1Cs air-to-air armament (Wikipedia). 8. File Name: Horizon Forbin class frigate File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 21 July 2015 File Category: Frigates This model represents the Forbin class frigate of the French Navy, in service from 2008 to present. The Forbin is part of the Horizon program of air defense frigates for France and Italy. Two of the class have been built for the French Navy, replacing the Suffren class. The Italian Horizon differs significantly in loadout, and is not included in this package. The Forbin is armed with two super-rapid 76mm guns and 20mm GIAT cannons, eight MM40 Block 3 Exocet missiles, Mistral short-range SAMs in two Sadral launchers, and 48 Aster 30 SAMs in Sylver VLS. (The sound effect for the Aster missiles is taken from actual test footage.) The flight deck can support one medium helicopter. Early and late versions of the Mistral missile are included. They are compatible with other ground objects as well as helicopters (using "SpecificStationCode=mistral"). You may also wish to download my Aquitaine and La Fayette frigates to complete your collection of modern French surface combatants. See the readme for full details and credits. 16. File Name: Suffren class frigate File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 29 August 2014 File Category: Frigates This model represents the Suffren class frigate of the French Navy, in service from 1967 to 2007. They were the first French ships to be designed as guided missile frigates, tasked with escorting the Clemenceau-class aircraft carriers. The two ships of the class, Sufren and Duquesne, are easily recognizable by their huge radomes housing the DRBI-23 3D radar. The ships' primary weapon is the Masurca SAM, designed using data from the US Navy's Terrier program. Three different versions are included, covering each major refit of their long service lives, adding Exocet missiles as well as upgrades for the guns and electronics. While officially referred to as frigates, the Suffren class are destroyers for all intents and purposes and have destroyer "D" hull numbers. Their in-game role and RWR signature reflects this. See the readme for full details and credits. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! 18. File Name: Multinational Speech Pack File Submitter: thereg File Submitted: 16 November 2012 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Objects Multinational Speech pack version 1.0 for Strike Fighters 2 SHould work on any type of SF2 installation. This is a compilation of speech packs brought together by me from original files mainly made for IL-2 Sturmovik and released as part of DBW. Due to the limited phrases available, it is intended more for immersion than for accuracy. I can't claim any credit for the actual recording, but I did some re-editing and re-processing to better bring the files in line with SF2. I've also included a re-processed version of Gramps' Russian Speech Pack available on Combatace. BE WARNED: If you speak any of these languages you may not enjoy how they fit into the game. For the most part I tried to find phrases that fit the different SF2 files in general meaning, but they are far from perfect, and a few are actually just random. You may want to turn on subtitles, at least until you get used to the different phrases. Special note to my fellow New Zealanders: I humbly apologise for lumping us in with the Aussies, but it was the closest I could get ;-) ----------------------------- Credits and huge thanks: Original files provided as part of the awesome Dark Blue World mod from SAS.com for IL-2: RAF NZandAus French German Italy ------------------------- Originals from GONVISE for IL2: Spain ---------------------------- Originals from Azrael-WT, TIGERLIU, CrazyDog, Northeastern Panda, Liu MM, TIGERLIU, bwhorse, treefanweijia, llb00825, bwhorse for IL2: China -------------- Originals from EECH and first converted by Richard "Gramps" Kaminski: Russian ---------------- As for the Arabic, I actually can't remember where I got them from, but thanks to whoever made them. Installation: Place whichever pack you desire into the Speech sub-folder of your main mod folder eg: ...username/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2 Europe/Speech/German then go to the flight folder and open the NATIONS.ini file to edit whatever nationality you want to use that particular language. Multinational Speech pack version 1.0 for Strike Fighters 2 SHould work on any type of SF2 installation.
