  1. Hello everyone, Just to let everyone know, I am discontinuing the Dhimar vs Paran project. Instead, I am working on a entirely new project that creates two new fictional nation from an alternative world. That way I can write the new story afresh instead of expanding an existing nation. It does not feel right replacing everything what an author of SF2 have originally written about Dhimar and Paran. I have to admit, i was going too wildly re-writing the stories that does not make sense. Now this time, I stop and slow down to see what I was doing. So now this time, I am researching about the events of the certain era and is taking notes. That way, the new project will make sense. The two new fictional small nations will be in Africa and next to it. It will be focused on these two nations and the conflicts between them. At the same time, it also open the opportunities for both of nations to interface with the neighboring nations too. The era will cover 1950s to 60s for a start. If the project goes well, then it may expand to a few decades more. However, it will not go any further than early late 1980s or early 1990s. I am looking forward to this project. Right now I am at the stage where I am writing the detailed stories and information about these two nations.
  2. After being a fan of SF2 series for a very long time, i decided to do an AAR on one of my campaign playthroughs here. The requisites are; Desert4+ map 1959 - Operation Burning Sands start SF2 Israel, Europe, NA, Vietnam and Exp 2 merged install Modded planes are only allowed if they were extant or were being exported historically, (courtesy of their respective modders) Realistic/Hard difficulty settings. No mission restarts/refly's. Background My name is Fuad Bahri. I'm a Parani. As long as i remember. I always wanted to be a pilot. People have smirked at me. Fuad, son of a struggling fisherman from Riqdur, a pilot? I was born in a forgotten place, in a forgotten time. Before the revolution, people like me, could only dream about moving as far as the next village, not even flying. It was a sport for the very rich, and the occupying British. Shah Komar rose up to correct the injustice, the wrongs they have done to us.Now a son of a simple fisherman like me, or even a son of a bedouin can attend schools. Women are not bound by the old ways anymore. Education, is not only for the rich now. And thus, i was able to apply for the cadet school for the fledgling Parani Air Force. Apart from several bomber squadrons of big Ilyushins, manned by Soviet crews, we only have left-over Hunter models, from the time of the British protectorate and a couple of squadrons of new Mig-17s, small, slow but nevertheless nimble fighters. But cadets like me are not trusted with the new and valuable equipment. We were given even older planes! Meteor is an old plane. It was used by the British for "air policing", our flight leader told us. Mostly just to prevent incursions from other super-powers, and sometimes flying low to scare off unruly bedouin tribes. It borders on obsolescence, but it is a plane with ... a soul. You can feel every bolt and surface panel when you make a hard bank, and can kick you like a camel on a rough landing. Some say, Paran has recently become a backdrop of a global chess-game: The Cold War. Other nations accuse us for getting help from the Soviets. They say we are unable to see the "big picture", and will only be pawns for global domination. There are garbled up news reports from the other side of the border. Many advanced US jets are starting to reinforce our despicable neighbour, Dhimar. There are even rumours of a rag-tag band of mercenaries, paid for by Dhimari King himself, to use newest aircraft against us. This morning, an aide ran into the squadron HQ, as if he is one of the mosquitos troubling us around. Special orders, we have been told, and i have seen our technicians attaching long-range drop tanks, never needed during our training flights. I have very mixed emotions... my lifelong dream was to fly, and now my dream could very well spell the end of my life. It sounds like a folly to fight against an enemy, no, two enemies even, with obsolete aircraft. But may the mountains of Kerman be my witness! Wars are won with bravery and blood! I'm a Parani, and as our country rises from the dustbin of history, i will do everything to protect it from our enemies!

Also included is a Parani Army Air Force skin (in fact, this mod is set up as a Parani aircraft). INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Centauro folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Centauro folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the Bf109G folder into your Sounds folder. 4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop all three folders into your Weapons folder. That's it, although you might want to use the WW2 pilot of your choice. Please note that the 3D model had a tiny bit of 'decal bleed' on the port side of the nose. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Veltro2K for making the G.55 Centauro 3D model. Thanks to Charles for the original skins and also for the flight model. 5. Just as the operation Desert Thunder began, the confident and proud forces of Dhimar and USA launch into the battlefield over Paran. An enormus aluminium cloud composed by F-4s, A-4s and B-57 crossed the frontline to bomb the heart of Parans military infrastructure, not knowing what was waiting for them... Within minutes, all squadrons that didn't drawn quickly from the strike, dissapeared from the radar. Those who managed to return to allied soil witnessed enormus explosions, planes vanishing... After hearing what intelligence reports had to say, a new installarion of extraordinary cannons was built deep in Paran soil, cappable of accelerating rounds to enormus speeds and tear down any air unit in a 80km range. Something must be done about it if they want to win the war... Thats what happened when I put this experiment in the desert terrain and played a campaign hahaha. Here is more footage of it for the ace combat fans:

  13. File Name: J-2 "Dabur" File Submitter: trotski00 File Submitted: 09 February 2016 File Category: Other J-2 "DABUR" History. In 1955, the Imperial Parani Defence Ministry placed an order with China to purchase Chinese built Mig15Bis ( J-2 ) At the time they had Czech military advisors, who passed on information about the modification programme to their own S-103 airframes to give more potency, and a better ground attack capability. The Parani aerospace bureau, quickly copied the specifications to the new J-2's. The resulting aircraft was designated J-2 " Dabur" (Dabur = Wasp) These aircraft were then passed onto the military for flight evaluation, and the results were mostly positive. It was decided by Parani High Command, that as the Air Force were going to be equipped with the J-3 (Mig 17) in the near future, that the J-2 airframes would be assigned to I.P.A.F.A. (Imperial Parani Army Forward Aviation ) units to supplement their existing fleet of IL-10's . These aircraft soldiered on until 1970, when a replacement was being looked into by the Defence Ministry. Installation and blah blah I have included ( I hope) everything needed in one package, ie. the aircraft ( you will need the Mig-15bis installed already to allow it to work) decals, weapons, pilots, and sounds. I have also included a SQADRONLIST.INI, and a NATIONS.INI to allow these birds to show up as a nation and with the correct markings. I have dropped all the respective files into their correct folders so, all you will need to do is unRAR/ZIP/7Z to your saved game folder, and allow overwrites ( if any) I have tested this on a full merged all bells and whistles SF2 so I assume it will work on unmerged too.as I said everything is there to get her up and running, just drop it all as is into your saved game folder and off you fly. CREDITS !!! This is a revamp of PauloPanz's Mig15bis SB so credit for the original model and workings to Mr Paulopanz, and to anyone else involved in the original aircraft. I have just played around and tweaked a few things. also added Czech weapons as loadouts instead of the bog standard FAB's etc. I could not have done this for you to enjoy without the initial hard work by the likes of Mr Wrench, Mr Paulopanz and all the other fantastic modders on here to numerous to mention, I am an ametuer just dipping my toe in a very deep pond !!! 16. File Name: Parani Air Force Pack 1 File Submitter: Centurion-1 File Submitted: 16 April 2014 File Category: What If Hangar -=Parani Air Force Pack 1=- *********************** *****by Centurion 1****** *********************** This pack adds a bunch of nation specifc, flyable aircraft that depicts the fictional Parani Air Force of the 1970s. All the skins are high-resolution and custom made for this. The baddies have never looked so good :) The fighters also have kill markings included. Included are: MiG-21MF*/PFM Mirage 3 called PC Mirage 5** called PD Mirage F.1 (early type, Cyrano IV radar and no RWR. Inboard Atoll pylons included) Su-7BMK Tu-22 Il-28 and a skin for the Tu-22KD. The reason for this not being a nation specific variant is I cant make cruise missiles work for other nations than the Soviets. The MiG-21s are based on the latest MiG-21 pack by Ataribaby and include the "hard" handling model. *The MiG-21MF have provisions for mounting Matra550 Magic 1 IRMS, because of the poor performance of the Atolls. This was done IRL by the Iraqi air force in the 1980s. -=Parani Air Force Pack 1=- *********************** *****by Centurion 1****** *********************** This pack adds a bunch of nation specifc, flyable aircraft that depicts the fictional Parani Air Force of the 1970s. If you dont like it, feel free to edit it out. **Converesly, the Mirage 5s have the possibility to mount WP IRMs and dumb ordnance, like the Libyan Mirage 5D Installation: Unzip to a mod folder of your choice. 18. File Name: Desert 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon File Submitter: Centurion-1 File Submitted: 02 April 2014 File Category: Tilesets for Terrains DESERT 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon by Centurion and Piecemeal Requires Piecemeals Desert 4 Terrain available here: http://combatace.com/files/file/14551-desert-terrain-v4/ DESCRIPTION This addon is for Piecemeals excellent Desert Terrain V.4 and adds more diversity to the mountain regions by adding several new tileset types. In addition to this, Piecemeal has modified all the city regions to be more diverse and less "square" and also changed movement routes and such. Overall, this makes the region more interesting to fly over. IMPORTANT NOTICE This patch updates the airfield names from the generic D1, D2 and so on to be specific place names. This will break you campaign files!!! Changing them to fix it is a simple matter of find-and-replace-all in notepad, however. Saved files will not work any more. KNOWN ISSUES Two airfields in the mountain regions have flattening issues that I have not been able to correct, if anyone could help us fix that would be great. AI Planes are bit bouncy there but the airbases are fully usable, it is mostly a visual issue. CREDITS: Piecemeal for the excellent V.4 terrain and the city tiling work + data tweaks. TK for SF2 and the whole Dhimar/Paran scenario. Stary and JSF Aggie for the tiles used here. Centurion for doing the cut/paste operations required to bring this together. Minor tile tweaks. INSTALLATION Unzip the whole folder into your Terrains/Desert4 folder. Click here to download this file

  20. Hi guys, so I am really loving the new Desert 4 terrain by Piecemeal, however I found the mountain regions very bland because after about 800 meters above sea level there is only one tile set type used. Since I have been working on the Iran/Iraq terrain I had some tiles up my sleeve and did a quick hack jobb in TE and TFDEdtior to make the mountains more interesting. Here are some results, will need to fix some TE errors by hand but is there any interest in this? There is not super many targets in that general area but it makes for some nice scenic moments flying there.

  25. A delicate armistice reigns over the Empire of Paran and the Kingdom of Dhimar. Both air forces patrol the border securing that the other side does not break the fragile peace in the region. Sometimes, pilots get too eager, flying along each other within Sidewinder-Range. At the end of 2008, a dhimari border patrol got visual contact on a parani squadron using the SU-27. Being regarded as a result of a sunstroke, the dhimari air force command did not take further actions in this case. In the beginning of 2009, reports of contacts with parani Flankers, using photographs as evidence, forced the high command to act. Already existing planes had to be upgraded to stand a chance against that new kind of threat and outdated planes needed to be replaced. Contracts with the US and other allies, known as the "Weapon for Blood-Policy" assured the dhimari air force the reception of some of the most modern fighter planes actually existing. At the end of 2009, a dhimari UAV was shot down by a parani plane. But this matter was classified in order to keep the armistice running. The last pic shot by the UAV was from a SU-35 with parani markings, covering the SU-35 that knocked out the UAV. Dhimar and Paran are on the verge of a new war...
