  1. Update 4.602 Dear friends, Today we’re releasing another update, 4.602, that brings to you two new aircraft at once. British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib is the first and it is available in Battle of Normandy Early Access now - this powerful, fast and heavily armed machine could handle a variety of combat missions. New tactical numbers and dynamic impact marks technologies already work for it and it has a wide array of modifications - another engine, propeller, gunsight, additional armor and dust filter. The second star of the day is the late Great War German monoplane Fokker D.VIII, which also supports the new tactical numbers and hit marks technologies. Having the same engine as Fokker Dr.I triplane, but a much better aerodynamical profile, resulted in a significant boost in combat characteristics. The only wing of this airplane had an unusual design for its time - it had load-carrying skin made of plywood instead of fabric. Being a late war plane, Fokker D.VIII could be equipped with Oigee collimator gunsight and was armed with two 7.92 mm LMG 08/15 Spandau. It is now available to all owners of Flying Circus Vol.II. Moreover, there are 20 new AI-controlled objects added in this update - they were developed for the Battle of Normandy. They are British in origin mostly, but there are additions for the US and Germany as well. Some of them are new types in our project - radars and reinforced concrete bunkers. In addition to all that, 4.602 addresses a lot of things - many graphical and audio effects are improved, there are several fixes for aircraft and ground vehicles AI, a significant improvement in ballistics, etc. The detailed change list follows: Main features 1. Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter-bomber is now available to all owners of the Battle for Normandy; 2. Fokker D.VIII monoplane is now available to all owners of the Flying Circus Vol.II; 3. American paratroopers have been added to the project and can be dropped from C-47. The corresponding missions will be added to the Career mode later; 4. New graphical effects for various armor-piercing shell and bullet impacts added; 5. Improved graphical effects of burning ground vehicles and balloons added; Aircraft changes 6. Fixed “jaggedness” of some shadow edges in cockpits; 7. Restored canopy glass sun effects; 8. Single AI plane takeoff fixed (in some cases the takeoff run was delayed for too much); 9. Aircraft AI bug fixed which could cause it to ignore points of the airfield taxiway; 10. Fixed visibility of P-51D-15, P-38J-15, Ju-52, He-111H-6, B-25D, Il-2-42 and Il-2-43 at distances over 1 km (they appeared smaller relative to other aircraft); 11. P-51D-15 weapons and chassis can be damaged by collisions; 12. Missing luminescent illumination on the watch bezel in Bf 109 K-4 cockpit added; 13. Pe-2 series 35 propellers won’t visibly disappear at medium distances; 14. Hurricane landing lights won’t visibly disappear at medium distances, creating holes in their niches; 15. Bristol Fighter's Lewis machine gun casings ejection location has been corrected; Player controllable vehicles changes 16. Pz.VI commander cupola wall armor thickness has been corrected (it was doubled before); 17. 72-K AAA: an incorrect operation of the automatic gunsight kinematics at intermediate elevation angles has been corrected (with zero corrections the sight axis appeared much higher than the barrel axis); 18. 72-K AAA: technochat messages will correctly appear in multiplayer for other players that joined its crew; Career mode changes 19. The player can join new squadrons: 587 BAP in Stalingrad and Kuban careers and 46 GNBAP in Kuban career; 20. 2. Dear Pilots! Behold the mighty Typhoon Mk.Ib in action! Coming soon to Battle of Normandy! It is now in Beta and is scheduled for release in June. It's another beauty by our talented team. This beast is armed with 4 x 20 mm Hispano cannons and can carry multiple rockets like the RP-3 in HE and AP flavors or a pair of 250 lb. or 500 lb. bombs. The cockpit is another tubular framework popular with British designers of the period. It just looks angry with those rockets slung under the wings! The Typhoon Mk.Ib helped pave the way for the Allied invasion of Normandy and soldiered on throughout the war pounding German ground units at every opportunity. We will feature no less than 21 Typhoon squadrons in our Normandy career with 4 of them flyable initially. Jason has created another special poster. This time inspired by the beautiful emblems of Typhoon equipped squadrons. These emblems were created by our artwork partner (and newly minted rocket engine engineer) Isaac "SolidKreate" Chavira. Full Size Poster HERE. We hope you enjoy these screenshots. They were a blast to make. Also in the works for Normandy is the solid nose Junkers Ju 88 C-6 which will make for an interesting maritime patrol and ground attack aircraft. Is it as effective and versatile as the American A-20B has proven to be? We shall find out! And finally, we have built a big 380 mm gun that was known as the Todt Battery. In BON it will try, and in real life it really did try to pound the Allied invasion forces into oblivion. During the real invasion it stayed operational until late September 1944 when it was finally captured by Canadian troops. Check out this short video as we test its animations. In other important news - next week, we plan to make an announcement about some additional content we plan to add to the Great Battles series, we hope you will be happy. Stay tuned! See you in the sky and on the battlefield! The Sturmovik Team You can discuss this post HERE.
  3. Dear friends, So, here is the new year 2021! Like anyone else, we're going to hope that it will be better than the previous one. However, for IL-2 Great Battles, the last year was quite positive in spite of all complications. We hope that we'll build on this success this year - the plans are quite extensive. Let's start with the first in-game shots of the British fighter Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib which is being developed for the Battle of Normandy. As you can see, it looks nearly complete, but in fact, there is still a lot to do - a hefty chunk of work is left on its cockpit instruments and the flight model. Nevertheless, we're expecting to finish everything before the end of this Spring and release it to all Battle of Normandy customers. Speaking of the Normandy map, the layout of the towns on its continental part is complete for the first iteration. A bunch of landmark buildings and a significant part of AI-controlled ground vehicles planned for Normandy are already done. We're researching the data for the Normandy Career mode. Meanwhile, the AAA trucks are also showing good progress - the GAZ-MM with the 72-K gun will be ready first. Its chassis is ready both in terms of the 3D and physical models while the crew animations and audio are being worked on. We've managed to find the authentic firing tables prepared by the Main Artillery Directorate of the Red Army and printed by the military publishing house of the People's Commissariat of Defense of the Soviet Union in 1943 and made the ballistics of the 25mm rounds and their armor penetration ability in various cases as close to the real thing as possible according to this data. We still have to research and recreate the really complicated correction system for the gunsights, that's what we're working on now while our partners at Digital Forms are creating the complex 3D model of the AAA gun itself as you can see on the screens below:
  4. Dear friends, Another year is ending. This one was tougher than usual, but the team has managed to do without losses and meet all the planned goals nevertheless. The work on Normandy is going well and soon we'll be able to show you the screenshots of the unique buildings and ground vehicles being developed especially for it. It will be a while before new aircraft are released because several of them are at the same stage of development at the moment, but in Spring we plan to release a number of player controllable content we're preparing right now. This, however, doesn't mean we won't release anything new till that moment - as you know, we're constantly improving the project in all its aspects and we plan to release some of the improvements sooner, in big updates before that. One of these improvements is 4K texturing for I-16 fighter created by Martin =ICDP=Catney. In addition to this, we're always glad to have more people improving the project and one can spot a result of the new collaboration on these screenshots. We won't disclose all the details of the coming surprise right now but we're sure you won't be disappointed. The player controllable self-propelled AA guns saw good progress lately. A new system of visualizing the tires, not less interesting than the one previously developed for tracks, is in the sim already and we'll show it to you soon. The model of wheeled and half-track propulsion is also ready and gets the final touches. In the meantime, our partners at Digital Forms made significant progress working on the second object of this pair - German Sd. Kfz. 10 half-track with 2cm Flak 38. We already can show you the WIP screenshots of it along with a Luftwaffe soldier in Winter uniform: To finish today's Dev Blog we want to show you the progress that was made on the fascinating bird, one of the planes that are in development for Battle of Normandy - Typhoon Mk.Ib. This legendary aircraft is planned to be released in late Spring 2021, it will be the third one of the Normandy planes that are planned to be released before the Summer. This concludes the last Dev Blog of this year, see you in 2021! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  5. View File Astore - UPEO SKIN PACK FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Hi to all, I'm Astore. Thanks for downloading my skin pack ! The UPEO (Universal Peace Enforcement Organization) is a fictional faction featured in the Ace Combat game series, and the main faction of Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere. The Universal Peace Enforcement Organization is an international peacekeeping organization under the Neo United Nations. UPEO maintains the SARF (Special Armed Response Force) when military intervention is required for peacekeeping duties, as well as the Euro-Asia Public Network for neutral, continent-wide broadcasting. Despite its aim of enforcing peace, UPEO was a puppet of General Resource Limited until the late 2030s. The organization became more independent with the rise of Neucom Incorporated and with Gabriel William Clarkson taking office as UPEO's representative. UPEO is the player's initial organization at the start of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. In the Japanese version of the game, the player can defect from UPEO to either General Resource or Neucom. It has shown that their equipment is of two main aircraft carriers, a Nimitz class and an Air Vector UI-4053 Sphyrna, still in construction during the early events of the game. Their main base, is a military airport at the center of Expo City, the eastern city of the USEA continent excluding Megafloat, which is a floating-island city. The UPEO Air Fleet is composed by future versions of actual aircraft and some fictionals since the game is set in 2040 of the Strangereal Universe, but the only fictional continent invented at the game exit was the USEA, so, since the faction seems to be universal, there could be several other planes operative in other nations, which have been introduced only in Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War (That is set in 2015). Same for the Aircraft Carrier skin: StrikeFighters2>Objects>GroundObjects>Admiral56) There's no need to overwrite on other folders, just add them in the specific folders. My skins does not requires decals, since the emblems are painted in the skin. If the skin doesn't work or shows leaving your aircraft black, it's possible that you are using a different version of the plane from an another addon, or that your game doesn't read the skin format. When this happen, copy the skin files to save them, then try to change their format (Like JPG). If the skin sets are the same for other models with the same skin mapping, they should work too. You can make a UPEO Nation in your INI Files continuing the list of nations. Be sure that the Nation number continues the series. In my case since I already got 271 Nations in my file, I've wrote Nation272 to make it work. But you could have to change the number. I've started working on the skin pack from Gold and then moved to SF2. Actually, also the F-18 has been downloaded from the FX Interactive site, but the addon from CombatAce should work too. To install manually the aircraft from that site, download them, the site will give a laucher-sort file. Ignore it, do mouse-right click and extract the files. You should obtain the aircraft folder to put in your SFG/SF2 aircraft folder, and it should work. Some of the templates for aircrafts were missing, then I had to make some new by hand, like for the F-15D Active. The older skins could be not at the same quality since I was working on SFG, but they'll be remade in future. Bugs and errors: The files shouldn't damage your game, if something doesn't work just remove the folder of the skin. The only bug I actually know is in the F-15 D ACTIVE canards, which couldn't be painted. It was the only Active I found, if you use it in SF2 be sure to insert also a cockpit file. You can customize the skins if you want to, credit me when you post screens or other in way to allow other players to find the download. Don't forget to rate, good or bad. This was my first skin pack, I hope I didn't messed up and that everything works. Maybe I'll do other skins in future. Have fun ! Submitter Astore Submitted 03/26/2018 Category What If Skins

[Nation272] Name=UPEO DisplayName=UPEO Alignment=FRIENDLY PilotNameList=NamesUSN.lst RankList=RanksUSAF.lst CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst Formation.Fighter=USFighter Formation.Attack=USFighter Formation.Bomber=USBomber Formation.Transport=USBomber Formation.Tank=USTank Formation.MobileAD=USAD PilotTrainingStandard=NORMAL GenderRatio=0 DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav SpeechFile=USAFSpeech.cat SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.str Link to planes and models: F-16: http://www.fxinteractive.com/it/p156/p156extras.htm F-18:http://www.fxinteractive.com/it/p156/p156extras.htm OR https://combatace.com/files/file/16682-fa-18a-made-by-tmf-themiragefactory/ Typhoon: https://combatace.com/files/file/6398-ef-2000/ F-15 D Active: https://combatace.com/files/file/7256-f-15-active-for-the-thirdwire-series/ F/A-27C and CVN-56 from Yukikaze: https://combatace.com/files/file/12522-yukikaze-fa-27cadmiral56/ SU-27 SKM: https://combatace.com/files/file/14316-su-27skm-flanker-for-sf1woe/ SU-47: https://combatace.com/files/file/14312-su-47-berkut-for-woe-sf1/ MIG-29C: https://combatace.com/files/file/13792-mig29c-ukrainerar/ Most of these planes should work also on SF Gold. Have fun !
  7. View File Eurofighter-GmbH EF-2000 "Typhoon" Rot Team (Ace Combat Zero) What is it? It's a paintscheme for the Eurofighter Typhoon of the Belkan Air Force, 2nd Air Division, 52nd Tactical Fighter Squadron "Rot", from the game Ace Combat Zero. For the Eurofighter-GmbH EF-2000 "Typhoon". The Rot Team was an elite Belkan Air Force squadron that saw action in the Belkan War. Led by the ace Detlef Fleisher, Rot Team saw great success in the early days of the war, earning an impressive kill record. They fought with a deep sense of pride for their country. In the early days of the war, the Rot Squadron was thought to be the BAF's ultimate air unit. Despite being a newer unit which had not seen any action before the Belkan War, Rot's kill score during the first months of the Belkan War was with great successes. The team was mostly centered around the flight commander, Detlef Fleisher, who was known as the BAF's "poster boy". In March 1995, the Rot Squadron was scrambled to the Airspace B7R, widely known as the "Round Table", to engage two aircraft from the Ustian Air Force's 6th Air Division, which were conducting reconnaissance on the Round Table. The 2 squadrons clashed in battle, and in the end, all Rot aircraft were shot down by the Galm Team. Rot 1 was the only confirmed survivor after that battle in The Round Table. 9. They have said they will be working on the HAWK and P40F, but they aren't developing anything else specifically for DCS. However, it seems they are interested in releasing further products down the line for DCS after they are launched on other platforms. They still have their Typhoon stuff on the website but I don't think the site has been touched by them since that update. But I'd guess that they'd continue their work on that. 11. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) and Indian Air Force (IAF) have hailed the success of a major exercise which saw the deployment of four Sukhoi Su-30MKI ‘Flankers’ to the U.K. to fly with and fight against the RAF’s Eurofighter Typhoon. Exercise Indradhanush IV (Hindi: Rainbow) concluded on July 30 following intensive flying operations with RAF Typhoon squadrons from RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire. Ten IAF crews including 15 pilots and five weapon systems operators flew twice daily missions, often flying all four Su-30s on air-to-air training missions flying beyond visual range (BVR) and within visual range (WVR) engagements with the Typhoon. This is the fourth iteration of the exercise, with the British and Indians taking it in turns to visit each other's shores. The last time the Indians deployed to the U.K. was in 2007. The Su-30s came from 2 Sqn – the Winged Arrows – based at Tezpur near India’s frontier with China. The Flanker pilots were also able to use their thrust-vectoring control (TVC) “super-maneuverability” capability activated by flipping a switch in the cockpit. One pilot told Aviation Week that they had used the yaw capability of the TVC to remain inside the tight turn radius of the Typhoon in order to keep the Typhoon in missile launch parameters. It was not possible to assess which aircraft, if any, had the upper hand in air combat, pilots and commanders remained tight lipped on the results of any dogfighting. RAF Wg. Cmdr. Chris Moon, commanding officer of 3 (Fighter) Sqn which led the exercise said that participants had adopted a “crawl, walk, run approach” with Indian crews familiarizing themselves with U.K. airspace regulations before taking on the Typhoons in 1vs1, 2vs1 and increasingly complex engagements. The last exercise mission saw all four Flankers working with six Typhoons to escort and support two C-130J Hercules on a paradropping mission. They were opposed by 8-10 red-air Typhoons. The exercise also saw the use of an Indian C-17 and an Il-78 tanker aircraft. The Il-78 operated alongside an RAF A330 Voyager tanker over the North Sea. While the Su-30s could have refueled from the Voyager, they were not cleared to, as a result fighters refueled from their national assets. At least two RAF pilots got to fly in the back seat of the Su-30 during exchange sorties on July 30. All Indian aircraft left the U.K. on July 31. http://aviationweek.com/blog/exercise-indradhanush-flankers-and-typhoons-battle-british-skies?NL=AW-05&Issue=AW-05_20150803_AW-05_494&sfvc4enews=42&cl=article_2&utm_rid=CPEN1000001360373&utm_campaign=3344&utm_medium=email&elq2=b225b3ec70e541dd92c6bef6ba06f0b6

  14. Hi to All, I have been lurking for a while now and have always only snuck in to download skins etc. However since redundancy struck and cabin fever induced by the wonderful spring weather has taken hold, I have decided to have a more in-depth play with the SF2 games. This has culminated in me attempting to make some decals for the Typhoon to reflect the newer RAF Squadrons starting with 6Sqn. Any comments/advice/suggestions would be welcome. I plan to produce decals for all the single seaters (18 or 19 aircraft if the serial lists available online are accurate) and will share if there is interest in the finished "skin"
