Where do you put this file?

 

Does it go in the System folder, Objects folder, or a Weapons folder within the Objects folder?

Ok, I put it in that folder and the weapons are not showing up.

 

So far I have the AIM-54 Phoenix missle, F-111A fuel tanks, jammer pods and some other stuff. They don't show up on the weapons loadout screen.

 

Could someone post an example of their Weaponsdata.ini file?

You'll need the weapons editor...I believe it's available here in the downloads section.

Definately,

 

Use the Weapons Editor to open the WeaponsData.ini, scroll down to the bottom & check to make sure the added weapons are showing up, then click "Save". Above all else, DO NOT click "Save As". More people have screwed up their weapons that way, and the only cure is a complete re-install of your weapons data & Weaponsdata.ini...

BTW, I am using WOV. Should I create a directory for SF:P1 and see is that works or does it make a difference?

No, the Weapons Editor was written for Windows98. If you're using XP, right click on the Wep Editor icon, select Properties, & then set it up to run in Win98 Compatability mode. You will then see the DOS screen flicker as you start it, after which the Weapons Editor will start...

Nevermind, it did not work.

 

I flew a mission with the F-14A Tomcat loaded up with Phoenix missles and I could see the missles.

 

A few hours later, I wanted to fly another mission, but this time I wanted some AIM-9 Sidewinders. The only problem is the Sidewinders and all the weapons that were not in the "weapondata.ini" file did not show up.

 

So, I added all the other weapons from a section in this post SF Editing Notes.

 

After I added the other weapons, they still did not show up in the game. I think the problem is there is not enough information about the weapons. I think the problem is the "weaponsdata.dat" file. It is conflicting with the "weapondata.ini" file. For some reason they are not working together.

Streakeagle, you are correct in deducing the problem is not enough data shown for the weapons you tried to select, along with many others you have shown in your WEAPONDATA.INI file.

 

There are two ways I'd suggest you can correct this. The first: If you have a backup of your original WEAPONDATA.INI file, open it and for every "two-liner" weapon you showed above, cut and paste the missing data. Then resave the corrected WEAPONDATA.INI file, and you should then be "armed and dangerous". Make sure all of your weapons are sequentially numbered and that there is only one space between each before you "save". The second: Download the latest Weapons Pack revision, dated 1Mar05 (WeaponsPack_01Mar05.zip) from SimHQ.com, unzip it into a separate folder, find the included WEAPONDATA.INI file (after unzipping it will be in: \WeaponsPack_01Mar05\Weapons) folder and replace your "faulty" file with this one. It has almost every weapon we'll ever need to fly SFP1/WoV, including your Phoenix missiles which we need to fly the fantastic Tomcat campaign.

It has been a long time (being that BioHaz was down for a while and then it moved). But I solved the problem. I found a website that has a weapons pack I could download. It has more weapons than I would ever need and I don't know which planes most of them go to.

 

The weapons pack was from August 2004 and I wanted to add the AIM-54 Phoenix missile. Then it finally hit me... I was not using the weapons editor correctly. I was just opening the WeaponsData.ini file with the Notepad program and just doing a copy and paste and expecting it to work. The problem was the WeaponsData.dat file. The Weapon Editor program did not recognize the weapons because I did not use the "Import" function.

 

That is the key.. the Import function. I can't believe I missed that the whole time.

 

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Sorry I was a pain in the neck to help out.

The weapons pack you have, the August 2004, is an old one. I recommend getting the newest one out.
