Some add-on planes not showing up in WOV?

Recommended Posts

I'm somewhat new to WOV and I just started to download new planes. I have downloaded about 10

or so aircraft and not all of them are showing up in the single mission list and I am clueless on why

this may be. They show up in the "quick mission editor" but when I make a mission they still dont

show up and the mission doesn't either. Is there a way to fix this? :help:

[ "No Show" Aircraft ]

- S-3b

- AH-1g

and I think one other

I'm no stranger to working with files. I've been creating files for Flightsim 2K4 and train simulator

for several years now.

There are a couple of things to try.

1. Make sure that in the data_ini section of the aircraft folder there is a section called "[MISSION DATA]"

it looks like this:

[MissionData]

NationName=USN

ServiceStartYear=1973 <--------------- Make sure that this falls in the year range of WOV

ServiceEndYear=1997 <--------------- Make sure that this falls in the year range of WOV

AircraftRole=ATTACK

AircraftCapability=DAY_AND_NIGHT

Availability=COMMON

Exported=FALSE

PrimaryRoles=CAS,SEAD,STRIKE

SecondaryRoles=ARMED_RECON,RECON

NormalMissionRadius=1973

MaxMissionRadius=2173

Ceiling=12270

MinBaseSize=MEDIUM

CarrierBased=TRUE

The range is from 1964 to 1973. If not then the aircraft won't show up in the single mission selection screen. There is another file that you can modify to expand the range of the game, but I can't remember what it is called off the top of my head.

2. Make sure that the file isn't nested. I have had it happen that when I unzip something it creates a situtation like this:

Objects

-Aircraft

-S-3B

-Objects

-Aircraft

-S-3B

If so then all you need to do is copy and paste.

3. Finally play around with your directory name. I have found this problem with the helicopters the most. I don't know completely what the problem is but like my AH-1G unzipped and created a directory that was AH_1G and the game didn't recognize it.

Try looking at those and see what happens for you.

I tried that and it had no effect what so ever.

Check two things

1- No nested folders, some methods of Unpacking may cause that

2- Look at the name of the RAR file, the folder name after unpacking and the plane.ini file. CombatAce is renaming the uploaded files switching the dash (-) for an underscore (_)

For example the AH-1G should have the following names

- AH-1G.rar

- AH-1G folder

- AH-1G.ini inside the above folder

"Its all there. I've tried everything I can think of.

My bad I fixed it

Thanx,
