Guest zerocinco Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 How do you get WOVQMD to fill in the Object Type drop down window when you have selected ground object? It finds the airplanes and nations fine but not the guns or SAMs. Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 UUUmmm, I think, are you able to place ground objects? If you can't then click on t a plane on the left list. Right click and it will show ADD NEW AIRCRAFT or ADD NEW GROUND OBJECT? Then add the new GO and it will allow you to make it whatever you want. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I wasn't clear. What I mean is that I cannot add a gun or truck to the game and I don't know why. They are in my Groundobjectdata.ini and their individual .ini files are in the GroundObjects folder (in WOV) but there is no pull down list telling me which items I can choose like when I want to add an airplane. When I do that, it lists all my aircraft but ground object gives me nothing. Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) You have the mission editor in the same main game folder? Edited March 10, 2006 by Saganuay82 Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Yes. It is blank. Trucks and tanks do not appear. Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 You have extracted the groundobjectdata.ini from the Cat file? Could be the problem. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Yes. It is in the Objects folder outside of the Ground Objects subfolder. Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 OK, I don't have a groundobjects subfolder. That may be where the editor can't see your objects......perhaps. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 OK. Thanks. That was the problem. Now how do I get it to see an M1939 37mm gun? Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Not what you are looking for but I don't think enough people see this site. http://stud3.tuwien.ac.at/%7Ee9826217/SFP1/index.html Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Thanks very much. I would rather know how than pester you. Someone developed new 37 guns a while back that were supposedly more realistic than other varieties...unless I read it wrong. I want to use those guns in a mission but cannot get them to appear. I'll figure it out. Thanks again for your help. I checked. I don't have any 37mm guns. I am using the new weapons pack but there is no ZP39 (the one I want) in the object window. How? Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Its probably thanks to Fubar and his radar guided guns associated with a Firecan radar. Search for that. I don't think it was ever released. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Try again. How do I get this gun to be in the game? [Object052] ObjectName=ZP-39 ObjectFullName=M1939_37mmAAA ObjectDataFile=M1939_data.INI Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 (edited) Add that to the weapondata.ini at the bottom. Make sure it is in numerical order. Open the weapondata.ini with the weapon editor and click save. Close the editor. Your gun should be in game then. I am not sure if you have to add the gun to the gundata.ini also. Where did you get it and it has a lod associated and a bmp? Edited March 14, 2006 by Saganuay82 Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I got it off of this site. Don't remember where. Has a LOD and bmp, too. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Someone has to know the answer to this one: For a gun to appear in the game, it must be where? Gundata.ini? GroundObjects.ini? I cannot figure out why some ground objects are usable and some are not when they seem to be in all the same files. Benham vs Spruance destroyers...both in the same files but only the Benham shows up. Why does a T-55 tank show up but not a VC_squad? Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 To have the object show up in game, it must be added to the groundobjectdata.ini. To have that gun work on that object, that gun data must be added to the gundata.ini with the gun editor and saved. Quote
Guest zerocinco Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Thanks for trying. I have done all that. How about this: What files must accompany an object for it to be part of the game? Like an ini file and a data. ini and a .lod and a skin bmp. There has to be a reason that I can drop a carrier into the objects folder, put it at the end of the groundobjects file and have it work but I cannot get the Spruance to show up by doing the exact same thing. One last try then I'll drop it. Quote
