Alexander51 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 View File USAAF Spitfire Insignias Want to give a big salute to Capun, Gramps, Charles and Kesselbrut whose collective efforts resulted in this fine aircraft. My small contribution in this case wouldn't be possible without these guys! Just drop the enclosed bmp into the ObjectsAircraftSpitfire5BT skin folder. Remember to back up the original BMP. The "M" letter of the MX-T string on the right fusalage was deliberately painted lopsided by me. There was an anomaly on the original skin that kept causing the "M" to split and sag lower than the rest of the string. This is Spitfire Vb MX-T, s/n JK707, 307th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Group, July 1943. This Spitfire flew from Maltas sister island Gozo for a short time before and after the invasion of Sicily. A belly-landing on the beach at Salerno ended its days in September 1943, after being hit by friendly AAA. mrcraig <S> Submitter Alexander51 Submitted 09/19/2006 Category Spitfire Quote
