I B Spectre Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I downloaded the LO Pylon Editor V1.01 and used MODMAN to install it. MODMAN indications suggest it was successfully installed, but I don't see anything any different. I see a LOPE icon in my LOMAC folder, but when I click on it, it says it cannot locate the LOMAC installation folder. What am I doing wrong and where would I expect to see the LOPE interface? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year! Quote
+Ruggbutt Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Manually add the LOPE.exe to the Lock On folder. Quote
I B Spectre Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Thanks. Tried just unzipping/dropping it into the LOMAC folder, but it kept telling me it couldn't find the LOMAC installation folder. Finally, I realized it was prompting me to point to the file in the directory tree and, bingo, it appeared. I appreciate the help. Quote
+Ruggbutt Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Glad to see you have it sorted. Be careful with LOPE, you can really fuxor your loadouts. And by all means don't hop on a server online with a LOPE'd loadout. It's considered cheating. ;) Quote
I B Spectre Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 One additional question: Prior to downloading LOPE, I had used another download titled "Realistic Weapons Mod for A-10, Su-33, MiG-29A/C and Su-25" that seemed to offer many of the loadout options I see in LOPE. It was ModMan compatible and seemed to expand the in-game payload options, which made it easy to use during mission building. What are your thoughts on the two mod? Quote
+Ruggbutt Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 What are your thoughts on the two mod? The realistic mod is Shepski's mod and it mimics the real life capabilities of the planes that it mods. I'd recommend it highly. Make sure you get the version that is intended for your install. Someone did the "fix" on that mod for 1.12a, the current version of Flaming Cliffs. That mod has been around for quite a while. Quote
I B Spectre Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks, ruggbutt, I appreciate the input. I think I'll uninstall LOPE and reinstall Shepski's. It seemed to do what I needed in an easy-to-use manner. Quote
+Ruggbutt Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 To do everything that Shepski's mod does you'd have to spend a couple hours in LOPE. ;) Quote
I B Spectre Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 (edited) Agreed, much more user-friendly way of doing the same thing. One odd thing I have noticed, though, for some reason most of the time I check ModMan I see Shepski's mod is showing a yellow status as though it is not fully installed. No biggy, a simple matter of selecting "Install" and the status indicator goes green again and works like a champ! Edited December 29, 2006 by I B Spectre Quote
+Ruggbutt Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 (edited) If you're installing other mods that write to the ME Init file then it will read yellow. Modman compares each file in each particular mod to the file being used by the game. If you have the F15 or the Walmis weapons mod which write to that file then it will show that it's partially installed (yellow). Edited December 29, 2006 by ruggbutt Quote
