How to add a new NationalMarking

I need help to solve a problem with adding new national markings.

I want to be able to see the new marking (decal or insignia)in a plane that I create either with a new custom mission or by using a create a new mission mode (using the drop downs).

If I add a new nation to the nations.ini and create a new nationalmarking, the new marking does not show up in any plane unless the file is named INSIGNIA.TGA (renamed from INSIGNIA056.TGA) and resides in the plane root directory.

In my case I added a new nation (nation056) in the flightnation.ini

I also create a new insignia (insignia056.tga) and put it in the objects directory since the objectdata.cat has all of the insignia tga files.

I have tried putting the INSIGNIA056.TGA in the flight, object, Plane root directory and in a test texture directory but no luck.

Is the path to the national marking TGA files only going to the objectsdata.cat file? so I am out of luck unless I somehow add the file to the cat?

I did find out where the new marking files have to reside. They have to be at the objectsaircraft directory.

I thought they had to be at the objects or objectsaircraftplane_name

The Decal Tutorial was not clear about this type of decals and dealt more with custom plane textures with their own decals.

I have tried by making new national and squadron markings (decals). BTW the cat file only has up to squadron patch #13, in the squadron ini file, there are 19 squadron names, so there are no squadron decals for entries 14 to 19 which includes the VMA-214 Black Sheep.

Also a lot of the airplanes texture decals.ini do not have entries for squadron badges/patches so the squadron decals do not show-up.
