Firecage 1 Posted January 26, 2007 Ok i have a few planes that the gunsight is NOT in the right place. Rather than trying to remember which plane has an off sight I want to correct the placement of the sight. The one I want to change is the one where the cockpit is invisable. ALot of the planes dont have a stock gunsight in the middle so I use the invis cockpit to get an idea of where to aim with on the in cockpit view. I have 2 or 3 that the sight isin the wrong place. Thanks in advance.
+peter01 2 Posted January 26, 2007 MrCraig posted this at SimHQ, so it seems like you can modify aiming in the x,y,z planes. In this specific case the numbers for the Albatros3 originally were AimAngles=0.0,-2.0,0.0. Cheers......... "Studied the D5a gun section and added this to the D3 data.ini as a result: [internalGun1] SystemType=FIXED_GUN GunTypeName=7.92MM_SPANDAU_LMG08/15 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN GunGroup=1 MuzzlePosition=-0.1568,0.8085,0.5659 LightPosition=-0.1568,0.8085,0.5659 AimAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 <--------------------------*** MaxAmmo=500 EjectShells=TRUE EjectPosition=-0.17,-0.15,0.57 EjectVelocity=-1.25,0.0,-0.3 GunFireAnimationID=2 Fixed it "
Alexander51 3 Posted January 26, 2007 Others may already be aware of this next trick, but I only recently discovered how to change the sight size itself. Some planes have ones that are small and zoomed out whereas others are much closer in. In the aircrafts Cockpit.INI file: [GunsightFront] HasGunsight=TRUE GunsightMilSize=80 <------------------------------- GunsightName=SPAD13_ironsight.tga FixedSight=TRUE This number changes how close up or far away the sight looks. +peter01 2 Posted January 26, 2007 This is another post that goes into more detail on the gunangles at the Thirdwire site, from The Wrench (so its not x,y,z as I initially said!! but rather left, up and down, right): Don't know what the actual 'convergencent point ' distance is, but the angle can be adjusted in the data ini. See below, you adjus the "AimAngles=" [internalGun1] SystemType=FIXED_GUN GunTypeName=7.92MM_SPANDAU_LMG08/15 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN GunGroup=1 MuzzlePosition=-0.13,0.26,0.66 LightPosition=-0.13,0.26,0.66 AimAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 <-- here MaxAmmo=500 EjectShells=FALSE MinExtentPosition=-0.17,-0.83,0.57 MaxExtentPosition=-0.07, 0.26,0.72 GunFireAnimationID=7 this is from the D7. I remember the middle number is up/down, the 1st or 3rd should be the left/right adjustment the 'measurment' is meters. minus numbers ie: 0.0,-1.0,0.0 would be 1 meter down from center. Plus signs are not needed. I'd start by moving them 'in' 0.5 for the 1st number, and see where they shoot. Both guns would need to be adjusted. BTW, minus numbers are left of center Hope that helps Wrench Kevin STein
