Hello I am new here and just have a few questions about the game.

 

I have played and or playing other combat flight sims in the past (Aces high 2) so i'm not a complete noob but i am looking to get away from ww2 style planes.

 

1. how busy are the online arenas and where do i go to play?

 

2. I looked about plane modding so if i read correctly you can mod an f-15 file to look like an f-18?

 

3. does it cost to play online?

 

4. how many patches, updates, expansion packs, and or DLed maps does it take to play online and have fun doing so.

1. Depending on what day and time it is there can be from 20 to 100 playing in Hyperlobby.

 

2. There are plenty of mods to do that. Most use Modman to install the modded files.

 

3. It's free.

 

4. Typically you'll need Lock On, Flaming Cliffs (expansion pack) and the 1.12a patch for whatever version of FC you're using. There's a download version and a CD version.
