I havn't flown the Fa-18 by Mirage Factory in about a month. I loaded the plane on a strike mission and every time I try to fly I have a giant white box in the middle of the hud and my FPS dropped to almost nothing. Its the stock Fa-18 from the download section and I've had in installled for months now without any problems. Wondering if anyone had any advice.

Running WOE

I did delete and reinstall the FA-18 and it didn't fix the problem.

I've tried the fix a couple of different times and variations and still come up with the same issue. My frame rates are good now with the modified file but I still have the white square

I had the same problem and nearly gave up in desperation. However I discovered that when saving the tga my image editor (the Gimp) was applying "RLE compression". After I unchecked that particular option it worked just fine. In fact in the end I only had to resize the tga by about 25% without changing the shape of it at all.

Hope this helps.
