3D studio max

What format do tw planes´ need to have so the 3d studio can open them?

Also, I tried the exporter plug-ins available here but they don´t work

I have the 3D studio 7 version.

3ds Max files need to be in .max format (or .3ds format can be imported).

 

You can export the .max files into .lod format using the exporter plug in available here or at thirdwire.com.

 

You cannot open .lod format files with 3ds max at all.
