Suddenly the pilot of the King Air 200 died leaving Doug White, untrained in flying larger planes the task of landing it. Control Tower: "Niner Delta Whisky, Are you using the auto pilot or are you hand flying this" White: "Mainly the Good Lord has my hands flying it, Niner Delta Whisky" “They said do NOT get below 110 knots,” he said. Automated warnings told him the plane was 500 feet above the ground, and White ignored a series of other cautions and alarms. “There were buzzers, amber lights, horns: It was like a circus. The only thing I was concentrating on was keeping the airspeed up and the wings level.
