+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 have a question about 3D max... when I want to animate some folding wings and they have a pylon staked to it how can I animate the folding without "grouping" the parts? Cause the pylon will never move like the wing I should I set the same coordinates for wingpart and pylon?. same prob with other parts. Or set a animation key.. group, move ungroup and set another key? Quote
FastCargo Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 You need to link the parts together. The 'child' mesh will move with the 'parent' mesh. FC Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 thx, I tried all the time to group or move them all.. but this one works! Quote
+aleks Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 if, for example u have the swing-wing of a tornado gr4, moving around a axis, and having 2 underwing pylons moving in such mode, to be always paralel respect of the fuselage: the swing-wing is animated in an animation p.e "5" and then linked to the fixed part of the wing .the pylons are linked directly to the wing, animated in the same animation in order to move together.don't bother about having many parts on the same animation, i work with 18 nozzles in my engines :).these parts, wing and pylons must turn all together in the same time Quote
