Mismatched Aircraft on identical installs - preventing my LAN game from working - any advice?

So I finally have the two computers with identical installs of CFS3 and identical installs of OFF Version 1.0.

 

I can't download the updates yet as my Internet is pretty unreliable. I'm going to download them from work next week.

 

Anyway, the installs are identical - no question about that - though one does have technical issues (it's on an older computer and I think they're graphics related).

 

And when I try to fly a multiplayer game, I can start and even click on Join Game and there's my game.

 

So I click, but it tells me that I have different aircraft on this server so I cannot join.

 

It tells me the mismatched aircraft, which it lists alphabetically.

 

I read a post on the forum that said "Just select a few aircraft rather than all of them."

 

So I truied that and it's the same story.

 

Even when I just select one aircraft, it still says it is mismatched.

 

I have attached a screenshot of the message.

 

What gives?

 

How do I get around this?

 

EDIT: Is it related that on both of my computers, I do not have a CFS3MP.exe file...?

 

It seems strange.

if i remeber right,,,there was an mp problem when off3 first game out. It was resolve with the next patch. The latest patch (1.30 with the 1.30c minimatch) installed on BOTH computers should fix the problem

 

In addition, you should get the 1.30c optional hardcore damage model, as this is what all the mp online pilots are playing with....

 

and the cfs3mp.exe is something you get after you install the patches...( i think this is what fixed the mismatch aircraft problem in ver 1.0)

and, also, we plan a nice mp session saterday, at 3est. if you want to try and join, im sure you will enjoy it. Will almost have to have teamspeak, and a mic.

 

Ill get on teamspeak a little early (2ish edt) to try and help you with any problems if you want..

 

opps..sorry,,just read about your internet problem,,,,,try and get that squared away if you can,,,,,,mp is too much fun to be missing out on it

Thank you so much! I did end up downloading the patch to 1.30 and 1.30c and now Multiplayer works like a charm! It's so much fun I almost can't believe it.

 

I can't go online mp yet because my Internet is appalingly slow until the end of next week when the plan changes over. It took just over 4 hours to download the 90MB patch.

 

I will download teamspeak, and I have a mic. Is joining the mp game a matter of directly typing in the host's IP address?

 

And I'll need to download extra planes? Are there a standard set that I should download?

 

And one last thing, I guess by EST, you mean United States EST rather than Australian EST, right?

 

Because I'll need to stay up through the night to join in - which I'm absolutely willing to do - I just will need to figure out the time difference.

And yes, joing mp is just a matter of entering the hosts ip after you have gottin to the join private game option.

 

planes you probably should get are the gotha and zepplin, as we us them alot in missions..

that is usa time,,,(sorry), but we have been doing afternoon sessions for pilots in the uk and italy. Im sure we can work a time out for a few mp games that would be both good for you and good for us....no use having to play at 3am.....
