Patcger 0 Posted June 26, 2009 Well, this is just a little place for me to rant... Ive been looking at Thrustmasters Cougar for a while, but a poor teenager like me just doesnt have $300 So, I was going to settle with a Siateck X52. But then... Just the other week, I was looking around on Amazon, and the word $160 caught my eye. It was a Cougar, sold by Amazon in new condition, but it had been opened before, so they marked the price down. So, I yelled for my parents and they ran in wondering why the heck I was screaming my head off. I quickly explained, and hoping not to miss the oppertunity, I ordered it right then and there. It came 5 days later, in perfect condition. So now Im happily deciding what the fate of my 3 year old $30 joystick should be. It feels sooo much better than my old joystick. Metal casing, heavy, no huge deadzone... its pretty hot as* - I mean HOTAS
Ruggbutt 45 Posted June 27, 2009 Head over to Frugal's World and learn how to fix the airbrake control. In most units it's installed incorrectly and will break after very little use. I think you need to pull the base of the stick apart and make sure that they've lubed the gimbal as well. Sometimes they leave the factory with no lube and since the gimbal is made of ZAMAK it's a fairly soft metal that will break down in no time with no lube.
