UK_Widowmaker 571 Posted July 30, 2009 Hi All...Not OFF related, but Windows XP. I just been in my Add/Remove programs app...and as I scroll down the list...There is a HUGE gap of black area between one application, and another! Have looked on Google, few people have the same issue..I tried uninstalling the two apps either side of the gap..no change!...anyone else ever had this? Check Six 2 Posted July 30, 2009 UK_Widowmaker, If I recall correctly, XP asks you to "wait while the uninstall list is being populated", and then presents the list. If you select a program to remove it, it presents it in a big black box, which sounds similar to what you're describing here. To me, that sounds as if the last time you removed/deleted/uninstalled a program, there was a glitch. Perhaps a quick fix maybe by selecting a "restore point" from a week/month ago? Yes, I know that might mean another uninstall/reinstall of our beloved OFF, and deletes all your favourite pilots...but...

I had that in my XP install years ago as well Widow, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't remember ever getting rid of the problem. IIRC, XP hits this glitch when there are more programs installed than the Add/Remove app is programmed to display. It doesn't really create any issues, and I remember solving it only when I reinstalled XP after formatting my drive. Bit drastic to solve a cosmetic problem, but there you go. Cheers!
