Ffg Perry Multiple Sam Launches

Recommended Posts

One of the problems with the FFG Perry (or any other Missile carrying ship/ground object) is the lack of SAM reloads.

Experimenting using Pasko's SA-3QL SAM as the starting point, I can get the FFG to launch multiple SAM's but not all at once.

The workaround is to have multiple missiles declared in the INI file, with all of the missiles being at the same x,y,z location and to increase the MissileLaunchTime to about 10 seconds.

It basically gives time for the missile to launch and lock on a target and for the next missile to lock on the same or other target.

Kinda of hokey workaround, but now the ships are deadlier than ever.

Well, it seems to work. I flew a couple of your missions and watched the sam launch multiple times. It also blew me up multiple times. :D

My missions used to be easy before you and your blasted missiles came along capun... :P :D

Actually, well done. Youve added a new dimension to the game. Its even more fun and challenging now. BZ!

When you are ready for some tips how to defeat the FFG send me an e-mail and I'll let you know some tricks. Some of them are due to the game engine and some probably could mimick real life radar acquisition and tracking issues. Too bad there is no way to model an Aegis system.

Also the missiles trajectory is calculated wrong, the game engine calculates from the ship's center and not from the launcher. The SAM's guidamce helps locking on your plane but if modelled correctly they would be deadlier.
